EVENING
DYLAN’S PARTY

The music blasted with an intensity that seemed to resonate through the walls of the house, enveloping everyone inside and drowning out all other sounds. It was as if the entire atmosphere was pulsating with rhythm, encouraging a sense of uninhibited joy. They swayed and danced with abandon, their drinks sloshing dangerously from their cups as peals of laughter erupted, intermingled with soft kisses exchanged in the shadows of dimly lit corners.

In the midst of this chaotic revelry, away from the overwhelming noise and Sasha was sitting at a small, unassuming table alongside Lilly and Winifred. Unlike the vibrant crowd around them, their drinks remained undisturbed, untouched as they engaged in a hushed conversation, stealing glances around the room.

“Goodness, where on earth is Zayn?” Lilly exclaimed with an exasperated sigh, her eyes scanning the throng.

“He should be right here with me.”Winifred, without missing a beat, chimed in with a teasing smirk,

“He’s probably sequestered away in one of those rooms, enjoying himself with some girl.” This elicited a quiet chuckle from Sasha, who could picture Zayn getting lost in the excitement of the night.

Lilly, her expression a mixture of annoyance and longing, added, “He really ought to finish whatever he’s doing with whoever he’s with and come find me… I’m already missing the feel of his touch.” At her words, Winifred shook her head in disapproval, a gesture full of mock dismay that hinted at her unwavering loyalty to the group’s dramatic happenings.

“Are you seriously hearing yourself right now?” Sasha exclaimed, exasperation evident in her tone. “You’re totally okay with the idea of sharing him with a bunch of other girls?”

“Duh, of course I’m not okay with it!” came the hurried reply.

“But honestly, what do you guys expect me to do? I’ve already put in a lot of effort to warn off most of the girls around him, trying to make it clear that they should steer clear of Zayn. But then Zayn found out about my efforts, and he got all fuzzy and almost cut me out completely. At the end of the day, he can do whatever he wants with whoever he wants. As long as I still have him for myself, I guess I can manage,” she finished, her tone a mix of resignation and determination. Almost immediately, Sasha found herself stifling a laugh, as Winifred burst into uncontrollable giggles.

“Wow, you sound a little bit unhinged…….like you’re some sort of obsessive girlfriend or something,” Winifred remarked, shaking her head in amusement, and Sasha nodded in agreement.

“Yeah, for real. There’s no way I could ever share my Dylan like that. That’s exactly why I’m doing everything I can to get rid of any girls who try to make a move on him,” Sasha said, a confident grin spreading across her face.

“And honestly, I feel the same way about my Mason! Just the thought of him with another girl makes me cringe. Ewww! If I ever caught him with someone else, I would literally lose my mind. I’d seriously think about taking down that other girl!” Winifred added, grimacing as they all burst into laughter together, bonding over their shared feelings and fierce loyalty to their respective partners.

“Are you absolutely certain that Nianna will be able to persuade the nerd to join us at the party? They really should have arrived by now… The party is already in full swing!” Winifred said loudly her voice raised enough to cut through the thumping bass of the music that filled the room, as she glanced around to take in the lively atmosphere.

“Honestly, I don’t know. I mean… that nerd has never set foot in any party before,” Sasha said back with a hint of disdain in her voice, rolling her eyes dramatically at the thought.

“It’s hard not to think that maybe she will just bail on us”Wini said.

“Come on, girls, relax a little,” Lilly interjected with a confident grin plastered across her face. “This is exactly why I asked Nianna, her so-called best friend, to work her magic and persuade her to come. I’m one hundred percent sure they’re on their way right now!”

“I really hope she can convince her,” Sasha replied with a resigned sigh.

“I mean, if that nerd doesn’t show up, all our plans are going to completely fall apart.”

“She absolutely has to come!” Winifred exclaimed, her frustration palpable.

“After all the effort we put into organizing this whole event, there’s no way we can let her back out. If Nianna can’t get her here, you bet we’ll have some serious words with her instead!” she added with a huff, crossing her arms over her chest as she scanned the door, half expecting to see them walk in at any moment.

“But honestly, I can’t believe that she has been putting on this facade with Violet all this time,” Winifred remarked with a scoff, frustration evident in her tone.

“It’s like she’s a green snake lurking in the tall grass, ready to strike when least expected.”

Sasha rolled her eyes and replied with an exasperated huff, “What do you mean you never realized this? Lily and I have been trying to make you see it! It’s been so clear for anyone who pays attention to how she behaves when she’s around Violet.”

“She really does have a talent for acting; it always seemed to me like she was genuinely fond of Violet. I swear, she should just pursue a career on stage!” With that, a wave of laughter rippled through the group, filling the air with a blend of amusement and disbelief.

Sasha leaned in, a sly grin spreading across her face. “I can’t even wrap my head around the fact that she has the nerve to be interested in my Dylan. Can you believe her audacity? She’ll definitely pay the price for having feelings for him, but for now, I guess she’s still of some use to me—at least until I’m done with that nerd,” she said, her voice dripping with mockery. Just then, Lily quickly glanced at Winifred, an unspoken understanding passing between them.

“Don’t you think it’s about time we come clean and tell her?” Lily suggested, looking intently at Winifred. Winifred nodded in agreement, her expression growing serious.

Sasha, sensing a shift in the atmosphere, immediately narrowed her eyes and demanded, “Tell me what? What are you two whispering about?”

“Since when did we start keeping secrets from each other?” Sasha exclaimed, a raised eyebrow etched across her forehead, signaling her disbelief.

“Whoa, hold on a second, Sasha! Just take a breath,” Winifred replied, attempting to calm her down.

“We’re going to fill you in on everything right now. The reason we didn’t share this with you earlier is that we knew how you’d react. You always blow up over anything related to Dylan. That’s exactly why we thought it was better to keep quiet for the time being. We need to have Nianna on our side for now, at least until we reach our goal.”she couldn’t help but scoff at the situation unfolding in front of her.

“Actually, you know what? It turns out that Nianna and Dylan were, well, involved in a physical relationship before all this happened,” Lilly chimed in, and I let out a loud scoff at that revelation.

“Excuse me, I’m sorry, but I don’t quite think I…” Sasha began, her words tumbling out in a stutter before she caught herself.

“Wait, are you saying Nianna really…?” Her voice trailed off, and she quickly scoffed in disbelief.

“Just how did you guys find this out?” she asked, a smile stretching across her face, but anyone with half a brain could see it was nothing but a facade, a thin veneer hiding her true feelings.

“Initially, Wini stumbled upon them in an intimate moment while she was searching for Zayn in their lounge. The sight of them making out was certainly unexpected. Additionally, there was another incident when I caught her passionately shouting at Dylan about how deeply she loves him and how she wishes for him to keep going. Honestly, the desperation was palpable; she was even going so far as to tell him that whether it was just for a brief fling or for him to satisfy her needs, she truly missed being intimate with him,” Lilly shared, her tone a mix of disbelief and amusement. Sasha could barely contain herself, letting out a loud scoff as she took a hearty gulp from her drink.

“Wow, that girl! Why didn’t you tell me about this sooner? It all makes sense now; her jealousy toward Violet is because Dylan is actually paying Violet some attention. This gives us a perfect opportunity to strike back—two birds with one stone! If you had brought this to my attention earlier, I might have been able to jazz up our plan a little more,” Sasha remarked, a mischievous grin spreading across her face.

“Honestly, I think it’s still not too late to add some extra flair to our plan. We definitely need to make her face the consequences for messing around with Dylan,” Lilly said, smirking at the idea. However, Winifred quickly shook her head, signaling her disapproval of that approach.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa, everyone, just take a breath and calm down!” Winifred exclaimed, raising her hand to get the group’s attention.

“We definitely need to keep her close—maybe not right at this moment, but trust me, we will later on. So, I suggest we all just take it easy and play along for the time being. At least until we manage to deal with Violet.” She looked around the room, and the others nodded in agreement, understanding the importance of her words.

“You’re absolutely right, Wini,” Lilly chimed in, her voice steady but laden with tension.

“Let’s just take a step back and keep our composure.” However, before Lilly could finish her thought, the music that had been thumping in the background suddenly stopped, replaced by a murmur of whispers that spiraled through the air like an electric current.

“What’s happening?” Sasha inquired, her eyebrows furrowing as she scanned the room for answers. Just then, Lilly’s finger shot out, pointing toward the entrance door with unmistakable urgency.

“It seems like our target has arrived,” Lilly announced, her eyes gleaming with a mix of excitement and anxiety as they all turned to watch Violet and Sasha make their entrance into the house.

“Get ready, everyone. It’s showtime; we need to put our plans into motion,” Sasha said, rising to her feet with determination. However, just as they were about to spring into action, they heard Dylan’s voice emanating from the speaker system.

“you came, mon chérie,” Dylan’s smooth voice floated through the air as he began to stroll confidently toward Violet, a glimmer of mischief in his eyes.

“‘Mon chérie’? Really? Give me a break,” Sasha scoffed, rolling her eyes dramatically as she observed Dylan’s approach toward Violet, a mix of irritation and amusement on her face. The tension in the room was palpable, and every eye was keenly focused on the unfolding drama.

“Oh no… This is not good. He can’t be with her tonight; we need to stay close to her to carry out our plan,” Lilly stated, her voice tinged with concern. She cast a quick glance over at Nianna, who was practically seething with rage as she observed Dylan making his way towards them, his face lit up with a cheerful smile directed at Violet.

“You made it! I’m really happy to see you,” Dylan exclaimed, beaming as he approached her.

“Yeah, I showed up, but trust me, my presence here isn’t for you,” Violet replied, her face devoid of any emotion, betraying none of the thoughts swirling in her mind.

“Oh, is that so? Well, you look… um… well, you look different tonight. I don’t mean to sound rude, but you’re absolutely beautiful,” Dylan stammered, a nervous chuckle escaping his lips.

“Am I expected to respond with a ‘thank you’ and a giggle, like all the other girls seem to do? Sorry, that’s just not in my playbook,” Violet retorted, and he responded with an even wider smile, clearly unfazed by her tone.

“Hey, Dylan!” Nianna interjected, smiling brightly as she waved at him for a brief moment. However, her enthusiastic gesture was met with indifference, as Dylan merely glanced in her direction before shifting his gaze away.

“So, umm… would you like to hang out with me? I could give you a tour of my mansion, or maybe we could check out my library since I know how much you enjoy reading,” he suggested, his eagerness evident. But Violet couldn’t hold back her scoff, a sound bursting forth loud and clear, cutting through the air and leaving no doubt about her feelings on the invitation.

“Seriously? If I had wanted to attend a party where all I did was read books, I could have done that comfortably from the confines of my own home,” Violet remarked, a slight frown creasing her brow as she attempted to walk away. However, Dylan wasn’t ready to let her go just yet; he reached out and grasped her hand gently to stop her.

“Please, just hear me out for a moment! I really want to show you some truly incredible things that I have at my mansion,” he urged, his tone earnest.

“And you don’t have to worry at all,I promise I won’t do anything to harm you. Your friend is more than welcome to come along, too.”

Nianna, standing next to them, couldn’t contain her excitement. A wide smile broke out across her face at the prospect of spending more time with Dylan. She thought to herself how lucky she felt to be included in this little adventure, struggling to suppress her elation even further.

Violet, however, remained unconvinced. “Thanks, but I think I’ll pass on that offer. Now, if you could please excuse me, Mr. Dylan,” she replied firmly, turning her gaze toward Nianna.

“Come on, let’s go somewhere else” Violet muttered under her breath, and without hesitation, Nianna nodded in agreement. She took one last glance at Dylan, a mix of curiosity and apprehension in her eyes, before trailing slowly behind Violet as they began to make their way through the throng of partygoers.

As they moved away, the crowd continued to watch Violet intently, their whispers floating through the air.

“Well, here we are, Nianna. Now what are we going to do? You’re the one who insisted we come to this party in the first place,” Violet said, glancing sideways at her friend but receiving no immediate response. Nianna was lost in her own thoughts, unable to find the words to express her own feelings amidst the lingering excitement of the night.

Violet sighed heavily, her frustration evident as she made her way through the bustling party. “You see, this is exactly why I really dislike coming to gatherings like this,” she remarked, her voice tinged with exasperation. The chaotic atmosphere around her was overwhelming; the crowd was thick, and the noise was incessant, making it all the more difficult to enjoy herself. As she maneuvered through the sea of people, she deliberately avoided eye contact, trying to shield herself from the many curious gazes that seemed to follow her every move. After a moment of silence, she turned to gauge the reaction of her friend Nianna, only to find her trailing behind like a lost soul, moving slowly and appearing utterly disoriented.

“Nianna, can you even hear me? Have you been listening to anything I’ve been saying?” Violet raised her voice, the irritation bubbling over as she attempted to snap Nianna out of her trance.

“Huh? Did I miss something?” Nianna responded in a daze, her eyebrows lifting in confusion. Violet couldn’t help but let out an incredulous scoff, the sound echoing her disbelief.

“Are you serious right now? I’ve been chatting away for ages!” she exclaimed, exhaling dramatically, a blend of annoyance and amusement in her tone.

“Oh, I’m sorry! I really didn’t catch that. Maybe the music is just too loud?” Nianna offered with a half-hearted apology, her mind still clearly elsewhere. Violet let out a dry chuckle in response, unable to hide her skepticism.

“Come on, girl! The music isn’t blasting that loudly! What do you mean, ‘Maybe it’s the music’? Is everything alright with you?” she pressed, concern creeping into her voice as she studied her friend’s weary expression.

Nianna sighed heavily, her hand instinctively moving to rub her forehead as if trying to ease the discomfort brewing there. “I’m fine, bestie,” she said with a sense of resignation. “I just have a bit of a headache, that’s all.” Violet observed her friend, realizing that perhaps, amidst the chaos of the party, she needed a moment of calm.

“Are you serious right now?” Violet exclaimed, clearly frustrated. “You knew you were dealing with a headache, so why on earth would you drag us both to this ridiculous party?” She shot a disapproving look in Nianna’s direction.

“Come on, relax a bit, girlfriend,” Nianna replied, trying to lighten the mood with a bright smile. “It’ll be fine! You know my headaches don’t stick around for long.” Despite her cheerful demeanor, Violet merely rolled her eyes in response, not convinced.

“Oh my goodness, Nianna, get it together,” Violet urged, her tone a mix of impatience and concern. “What was it that Sasha said about where I should take her?” Nianna paused for a moment, scanning the room, and as luck would have it, her eyes landed on Sasha and her group, who were locked onto them with eager expressions.

Suddenly, Nianna’s phone buzzed in her pocket, breaking her concentration. She quickly pulled it out to check the notification and saw it was a text from Sasha. The message read, “Take her to the wine cellar in the living room, and wait for what comes next.” Grinning, Nianna lifted her head and nodded toward Sasha, signaling that she had received the message.

“Alright, let’s go grab something to drink,” Nianna suggested, reaching for Violet’s hand to lead the way.
But Violet hesitated, a concerned expression crossing her face.

“But we agreed earlier on our way here that we weren’t going to eat or drink anything at this place. What if they’re serving us drinks that are drugged?” she protested, her voice tinged with anxiety. Nianna couldn’t help but chuckle at her friend’s worry.

“Violet, it’s just a drink! Come on, are you really just going to stand there, staring at everyone else, while we miss out on having some fun? I promise I’ll keep an eye on it to make sure it’s safe. But if you really don’t want to drink anything, then just enjoy watching me have a good time! We can’t just hang around here aimlessly like we’re lost let’s not waste this opportunity. So what do you say? Shall we go?” Nianna encouraged, her enthusiasm infectious.

With a resigned sigh, Violet nodded, reluctantly agreeing to follow Nianna’s lead into the lively atmosphere.
