Chapter 16&17: A TALK WITH THE BEAST.

She was surprised to see herself back in her room. She didn’t remember leaving after she had seen the flower, but here in her room, right on her bed… that was hunting.
And thankfully no one saw her, or else she’ll be reported to Kaleb, and this time, she has no say to defend herself.
But why would the beast show her inside his room? Of all people who had lived in the castle for months, probably years has never seen in there.
It wasn’t just relieving, it was the scariest thing she can ever imagine. And the worst part of it all is, she wasn’t feeling sleepy.
” Theodora.” He called, in a calmed manner.
” Why are you in my head?” She asked.
” Because…” He paused. ” Because, you already have me in your head.” He answered.
” No, I don’t. I do not have you in my head.” She said in a clenched teeth.
” Right now as we speak, you do.”
” Who are you?” She asked again.
” I am the one you speak of. The one who owns the chamber you have just seen.” He answered, deeply.
She was calm. If it was truly the beast talking to her, then he is right. He is in her head because she always thinks about his rise more than anyone.
” How then did you get into my head?”
” Whenever you think about me, whenever you talk about me, and whenever you wish for my freedom, I can hear you.”
” But,,, I ain’t the only one who thinks, talks or wishes for your rise, there are many of them out there. Why then am I the only one who can hear you?”
” That, I don’t know.”
” You’re lying to me.”
” I don’t… lie.”
” So, why did you show me your room? ”
” I wanted you to know, I’ll be back home very soon. ” He simply said.
” What happens when you return?”
” I… will take back what rightfully belongs to me. I am sure history must have told you a lot about me and how I got here. ”
She nods. ” Yes. ”
“Good… ” he breathed.
” Does that mean, everyone will die? Do we need to have hope for your return? ”
” I don’t give hope, I take it. I only give revenge. You see the difference? And I don’t mind killing every single soul that lives. Pray, I do not find you. ”
Theodora felt her heart pounding in fear. That was indeed no hope he was talking about, that was threat, that was doom.
” So, you want to use me to get your gain? Because you know I serve as a slave to your brother? ”
He growled.
” I will not help you with wh@tëver you want. If you want him dead, then do that yourself. Maybe having hope in you has been nothing but a waste of time, I quit. And get the fu*k out of my head. ”
He chuckled. ” I’m in your head, and nothing can change that. Not even you. ”
” History made us know you were innocent, what if they were only lying to us. What if… you aren’t as innocent as they have said? ”
He was vexed by her words. ” Is that what you think? I will show you what innocency truly means.” He said, voice leaving through clenched teeth.
” No. No, don’t do anything.”
He took control over her mind, her eyes moving like she was enchanted with a dizzy spell. She fell flat on her bed, eyes closed.
He was going to make her see the past, how it all started and why he was in that cave.
Now, she wasn’t reading it as a book, she was seeing in as reality. Kaleb’s history with his younger brother while they were little, one may think their relationship was a pure definition of peace.
There were so many evil things Kaleb has sought to happen to his brother, so many attempts which all went in vain.
And all this started when their father once made a statement of his younger brother playing much of an alpha’s role.
Thousand of times, their father has wished if it were to be possible, he would pass down leadership to his second son even if that was against the laws.
He preferred the other over to him, and the Luna was the opposite of him. She prefers Kaleb more.
They say a mother’s love was the greatest thing ever, but to Kaleb he wanted his father’s love the most all for the sake of having the throne all to himself.
One thing about Kaleb was his selfishness and envy.
He then took her to the time when they had gone out for hunting. He had always thought Kaleb loved him, but no, he was wrong.
Not as if he was after the throne, all he wanted was to continue with the love he had with his brother. But since Kaleb has shown him how dangerous he is, he has no other choice but to claim the throne back.
At the secret room of the old woman, how he tried defending himself from her but she wouldn’t listen.
How she cursed him, and how he transformed into what he is now.
After all, history never lied.
He brought her back to reality. ” That is innocency. I was the innocent one, all I wanted was peace but he took it away from me the moment he left me. He let her curse me for nothing, that wasn’t pity either.”
” I understand how you feel.” She said, sympathetically.
” No, you don’t! No one does because I am the only one locked in here. Only I.”
” I’ve read history over and over again, so I do understand how you feel.”
” I don’t want your sympathy.” He told her.
” I wasn’t giving it to you. So, we are all gonna die for that?” She asked. ” Right?”
” I wish I can, but I can’t.”
” Wait.”
” What?”
” Even if you are going to kill us all, please, let us watch Kaleb die first and then you can have us all died kill.” She requested.
” Fine, I’ll keep that in mind.” He left without another word.
Theodora sat at the same position for minutes, thinking and rethinking over what he had just showed her.
