“Nando, she’s my daughter. My Lola” Don said.
“It’s a lie, Ferdie. I don’t know him, remember some people are trying to hurt me, he may be part of them” Valerie muttered, staring at Fernando.
“Can you just tell me what’s going on here?” Fernando asked.
“Why are you calling Valerie Lola and what do you mean by her father? You never told me you had a daughter before” Fernando questioned.
“I didn’t tell you because I see myself as a bad father, I left for twelve good years without turning back. I didn’t even watch my daughter grow into an adult, I….” He stopped halfways and exhaled deeply.
“Lola, I’m sorry. I’m at fault, yes I accept that but…”
“Stop calling me Lola! You don’t have any right to call me by that name!” Valerie half yells.
“Ferdie, please send him out of here. He’s annoying the Sh|t outta me” she muttered.
“You need to take it easy, he’s saying the truth right now.. He’s your father” Mateo said.
“Father?” She chuckled.
“My father died the day he left me, I’m an orphan so I don’t have a father!” She looked at Fernando.
“Send him away or better still lock him up, he’s a bad person. How did he know my name is Lola? He’s definitely up to something” she muttered.
“You’re Lola?” Fernando asked surprised. The memories he was trying to bury, awakened again.
“My name is Lola, Ferdie. My parents are the only one who call me that except…. Except Ferd” she muttered.
Fernando staggered back in shock when she mentioned the name Lola, his childhood lover do call him.
“So, he’s an imposter!” She pointed at Don.
“Lola, it’s your Dad. Don’t you recognize me anymore?” Don asked, slightly feeling hurt.
“I understand I left without saying a word but… It wasn’t my fault, I was trying to avenge your mother’s death, I didn’t want to put you into any harm that’s why I brought Della and Sara to take care of you” Don explained.
Valerie stare at him in surprise. Did he just mention Della and Sara?
“I was just doing everything to protect you, I know I failed you, I failed your mom. But please, forgive me, forgive your father, Lola”
“Father??” She chuckled.
“Where was he when I was craving for the warmth of my mom and Dad? Where was he when I was mourning my mom’s death alone?” She blinks her eyes rapidly to stop the tears from flowing out of her eyes.
“Do you know what I went through in that house? Do you? I was a slave in my house! I worked my @$$ out trying to make myself a better person while your foolish stepdaughter acts and do like the princess she was!” She yelled.
“I don’t have a dad, my Dad died the day he left my life” she looked away and covered her face with her hands.
“Lola…” Don moved closer and tried to touch her.
Valerie looked at Fernando.
“Ferdie, chase him out. I can’t stand his face”
“I guess I’ll have to come another day” Don looked at Fernando.
“Take care of my daughter for me please, Nando” he muttered.
He glance at Valerie who isn’t even looking at him before leaving the room.
“I hope you can think about this well.. you’re hurt, I understand but trust me, Donald is hurt too. Do find it in your heart to forgive him please” Mateo muttered before going out of the room.
Valerie breathe out immediately they were alone, she raised her head to find Fernando staring at her in deep shock.
She moves closer to him and hugs him.
“Please let me stay this way for a while” she whispers.
“Lola” Fernando whispers too.

***FLASHBACK***
Nando sat outside the fun park, his arms around his chest as he cries silently.
He got lost while following an ice cream vendor, he couldn’t find his parents as the park was so filled.
“Mom, Dad” he sniffs.
An ice cream cone was suddenly stretched to his front, he raised his head to see the most cutest girl he has ever seen in his Eleven years on earth.
“Take this” the girl stretched the ice cream to him.
“You’re cute” he said instead.
The girl smiled and sat beside him, licking the ice cream in her other hand cutely.
“I know, you can clean the drool on your lips” she muttered.
Fernando looked away embarrassed and quickly wipe his lips with his hand.
The girl chuckled.
“You should take this and stop crying” she stretched the ice cream to him.
Slowly, Fernando collected it from her.
“Why are you crying?” She asked.
“I can’t find my parents, I’m lost” Fernando mumbled.
“Are you a baby? Is that why you’re crying?” She laughed.
“How old are you?” She asked.
“I’m Eleven”
“You’re a crybaby, I’m 8 and I’m not a crybaby” she stuck her tongue at him.
“I’m much older than you” Fernando said.
“But I’m more matured” she replied.
“Mature? Do you even know what’s called matured?” He laughed.
“Mature means a very big girl” She said proudly.
Fernando laughed.
“Well, you’re wrong. Mature means to behave maturely” he corrected.
The girl bursted into a fit of laughter.
“You’re so dull” she laughed.
Fernando frowned greatly.
“I’m not”
“You are!”
They continue bickering at each other till…
“Lola!” They heard a woman’s voice.
Lola’s head snapped towards the direction of the voice and her face brighten up immediately.
“Mom!” She ran to the woman and held her hand.
“Mom?” Fernando mumbled.
“Who’s he?” Lola’s mom asked.
“My friend” Lola replied with a smile.
“You got a friend so soon?” Her mom asked with a smile.
“Yes, mom. He’s a crybaby” Lola giggled.
“What? You…” Fernando tried saying..
“Let’s go baby, your Dad is waiting” Lola’s mom said.
“Okay, mom” Lola faced Fernando.
“What’s your name?” She asked.
“Fern…”
“Ferd?” She interrupted him.
“Your name is cute.. I’m Lo…”
“Lola? I know your name already” Fernando smiles.
“Bye, I hope to see your crying face someday” Lola said.
She waved at him before walking away with her mom.
Fernando watched as they walked away, his eyes went to the ice cream in his hand and he licked it slowly.
“Lola?” He smiled.
“She’s so cute” he giggled, totally forgetting he was crying earlier.
“Ferdie? Oh my baby! We’ve been searching all over the place for you!” Isabella exclaimed, she rushed to where he sat and pulled him to a hug.
“Why did you suddenly leave us? Your mom and I was really worried” Rafael scolded.
“I’m sorry, Dad. I followed an ice cream vendor and got lost” Fernando said, feeling remorseful.
“Where did you get this?” Isabella asked, referring to the ice cream.
“Lola gave it to me” Fernando answered with a smile.
“Lola? Who’s Lola?” Isabella asked, staring at Rafael.
“She’s my friend. I like her Mom” Fernando said.
Isabella chuckled.
“So soon?” Rafael asked.
“She’s so cute, but she called me a crybaby” Fernando scoffed.
Rafael and Isabella laughed.
“Let’s go Nando, it’s getting late” Rafael said.
Fernando stood up, licking the ice cream slowly.
“I wish to see her again” he mumbled to himself.

Lola” Fernando whispered again as the memories of how they met filled his head.
