HOUND’S DUTY – Episode 24

The lights in the house start to flicker and at one point, they went off completely but Jeff was quick to grab his cell phone and Kira’s own too.
Darkness settled around him, it was only the illumination of light from his phone that made his face visible.
He groaned in frustration as he tried calling their number but the network is jammed because of Kira’s premonition state.
After each dial comes to a beep to cut him off.

He decided to go back to the book In case there should be a way to help Kira out.
He opened the next page after the premonition part and saw that a Banshee can foretell people’s death but they also have a way around it. A way to go into the moment and change their fate but that’s on a very advanced level for banshee that practices day and night.
Jeff went back to Kira and made her sit upright on the sofa, he tucked the big blanket at each of her sides to prevent her body from tilting.
“Lady Violet’s teaching can’t go in vain, she trained everyone well for her use so you should be able to do it after all,” he said.

“Hey, Kira. I don’t know if you can hear me that well but try to find my voice and welcome it,” he said.

SOMEWHERE UNKNOWN
Kira has been wandering around the woods in her premonition after witnessing the death of people close to her.
Everyone we’re giggling and enjoying the party until they all disappeared. She could not find anyone. She screamed out their names but no one came out to her.
She felt her palm wet and when she lift her hands, she saw blood which made her scream.

Haliah appeared out of the darkness to her, the moonbeam exposing her demonic eye color and blood dripping from her hands.

She screamed again and her voice transported her deep into her trance state making it hard for her to come back to reality.
Her powerful voice shields her from trauma in her trance state, hence hiding her in the world of her unconsciousness.

And this time, she found herself in another part of the city where she lay down exhausted. Her dress was tattered and wet. Her hair was disheveled and her face so pale. She starts to hear distant and muffled voices. She tried to block it out concerning her state but the voice keeps pushing deeper into her.

She made out the voice to be Jeff’s and she gleamed in relief. “Jeff I can hear you, can you hear me?” she shouted.
She can only hear Jeff but can’t reach him from where she is.
Jeff read out the book to her about how she can change everything with her powers.
“No, I… I can’t do it. The scene was too scary and traumatic for me, I can’t go back there” she said.

Then Jeff’s voice came again “Listen Kira if you can hear me, you can only change things if you examine the scene, find out how or why they died, and manipulate everything. You must save them, please! No one must die” Jeff said.

Kira sobbed and sat on the floor, cuddling her knees to her chest and rocking back and forth on the floor.
She keeps hearing voices apart from Jeff talking to her and the voices are hurting her ears.

HANSON MANSION ( An hour ago)
When Haliah got to her mother’s house with Erik and Susan, she hesitated to go in at first because she wasn’t ready to face her mother yet apart parting ways in school that day.
She didn’t bother to knock on the gate because the system recognized her and the gate came open on its own. She was surprised her mother hadn’t changed the way of things here.

She went inside with them and the gifted were surprised as to how they gained access without having their invitation card checked at the entrance.
Haliah flipped the invitation card on their faces and advanced to where the main party is happening.

Ciara spot them and went to welcome them.
“Glad you came, the fascinating part of the party kicks off by 9,” she said with a smile.

Then Anthony showed up from another exit into the hall, had was surprised to see Haliah and Erik because he wasn’t expecting them to come for a random party organized by Ciara.
Seeing Anthony, she went to meet him “Are you fully okay?” she asked.

Tony removed her hand from his arm shunning her “Pretending to be a good person doesn’t suit you Ciara and I’m not a good person too. Continue to be on my tail and I’ll play the title you impose on me.” he said to her and left.

She clenched her fist with her eyes glaring fire.

Haliah rolled her eyes and then turn to face Erik and Susan. “We should spread out,” she said.

“That’s right I can’t see Fred in sight,” Erik said.

“Be careful you both” Susan said to them.

They waited for a while pretending to blend in with the other invited students who are non-supernatural. They wondered why Ciara would invite innocent humans to a bloody party. And when eyes were no more on them, Haliah slipped out of the main hall towards the main chambers where she lived.
