? CHAPTER 57?
“What do we do now?” Ivory asked worriedly. The tides were increasing and Anna was moving further away from the boat.
“Anna look!” Chrystal yelled, pointing at the lamp like object behind Anna.
“Grab unto that thing.” She added and Anna turned around to see what she’s talking about. She immediately grabbed it the moment she reached it and it succeeded in keeping her firm. Now it is Chrystal’s turn to hold unto something as she too was being pulled away from the boat.
“This is a complete disaster.” Ivory sighed facing the boat. She couldn’t just understand why the boat would stop like that if there was nothing wrong with it.
“umm guys, I can’t swim back.” Chrystal said still struggling to get back to the boat.
“Let it pull you towards me, I’ll catch you.” Anna said as as she tightened her grip on wh@tëver that thing is. Chrystal did as instructed and the moment she got to Anna, Anna caught her hand, pulling her forward for her to grab the object as well.
“Was is this thing anyways?” Chrystal furrowed her brows.
Sebastian looked at the object with a perplexed expression. He recognized the object but it was too far away for him to conclude on what is it.
“Chrystal, try to go underwater for me would you.” He said to Chrystal but she only glared at him.
“Why would I do that? Are you trying to kill me?”
“Just trust me already. I want you to check if that same object is under our boat. The tides won’t affect you from underneath the water.” Sebastian explained and Chrystal rolled her eyes before obeying.
She held her breath, diving into the water and straining her eyes to see. It’s much difficult keeping the eyes open in salty water than an ordinary swimming pool.
She swam towards their boat and indeed she could see the same object underneath the boat. It had a sort of Chinese writing on it and English translation that says Ener-Chi. She immediately resurfaced to the water as she had run out of breath.
“Yes yes, there’s something there and it has an English transcription.” Chrystal said as she struggled to stay at a spot but that wasn’t happening so she just let herself be pulled back to Anna’s position.
“Welcome back.” Anna winked at her. That’s Anna for you, always making the most of every situation.
“I think it’s a diffuser. We need to get the boat out of here for it to start.” Sebastian called out.
“How do we do that?” Ivory faced him.
“Not we, you’re staying in here. I’ll go down, just start the boat once I push it away” He replied facing the water. Anna had fallen in the direction of the wave and so did Chrystal. If he should dive from the other angle, he might be able to push the boat with the help of the wave.
“Sebastian hurry! This thing is moving, I think because of our weight.” Chrystal called out. It seems Chrystal and Ivory were the only ones panicking as Anna and Sebastian seemed calm.
Sebastian immediately jumped into the water from the other side of the boat and just like he predicted, he was able to move the boat away.
Ivory started the boat immediately he pushed it away like he instructed and it staring running again.
“Seb it worked!” Ivory screamed excitedly but Sebastian was yet to resurface.
“Seb?” Ivory called out worriedly, she was about to yell his name again when he resurfaced beside Chrystal and Anna’s boat, doing the same thing he had done with the other. The boat moved, but kept moving.
“Our boat!” Chrystal yelled. Ivory immediately drove hers forward, stopping infront of the moving boat to block it and it stopped.
“Lets get out of here please.” Chrystal sighed, f*ck this game, she’s going back to shore were it’s safe.

Swayer and Fiona were looking at each other, wondering why their boat suddenly stopped. They were more worried about the weather. it had changed so badly and with the rising tides, a big water wave is expected to be seen soon and they needed to get out of the water before then.
“Swayer please tell me you have your phone on you.” Fiona pleaded even though she knew Swayer’s response would be a no. Swayer decided not to reply instead.
“Why can’t we just play normal games like normal teenagers? Why all these death traps?” Fiona asked no one in particular.
Swayer spotted a boat approaching them and she exhaled immediately. It’s Shaun and Fabiola’s.
“Fiona look, it’s Shaun and Fabiola.” Swayer said pointing at their boat.
“Oh thank goodness. Shaun!!! Over here!!” Fiona began screaming immediately.
Fabiola still had her arms wrapped around Shaun’s waist as she was silently praying for them to reach the end of the line and go back to shore. She had a bad feeling about this game. She’s been begging Shaun to turn around since they passed shore and couldn’t see Mr Griffin again but Shaun kept telling her to trust him and that they needed to win the game.
“Shaun please just let’s go back now. Look at the clouds, they aren’t friendly anymore. I don’t like this game anymore please.” Fabiola pleaded for the uptenth time.
“Hold on, isn’t that Swayer and Fiona?” Shaun furrowed his brows as he noticed Fiona waving her hands like she’s calling for help.
“Why is she screaming like that? What happened to their boat?” Fabiola furrowed her brows. Her eyes caught sight of the diffuser and she immediately recognized it. She had drawn something like that in her physics practical test some time ago.
Shaun immediately directed the boat towards Swayer and Fiona.
“No Shaun what are you doing?” Fabiola let go of his waist immediately.
“What do you mean what I’m doing? I’m going to help them, aren’t they your friends?” Shaun furrowed his brows.
“You can’t go there. You can’t get close to them or the boat will stop working as well.” Fabiola said, worry evident in her tone.
“What are you talking about? I know you’re afraid of the water but they are you friends-”
“Shaun I’m telling you to stop this boat right now and turn around! we can go get help but if we are both stuck here, who’s gonna help us?” Fabiola started breathing heavily. She was having an anxiety attack which never happens to her unless she’s really scared and she’s never been this scared since the last time she had drowned.
Shaun on the other hand didn’t notice this as the sound of the boat didn’t let him plus she was behind him and his focus was on Fiona who kept screaming even though they were near them already.
Swayer’s eyes widened at the horrible sight before her. It wasn’t Shaun’s boat but the big water wave behind them. It was headed straight for their boat and they needed to change course. It had started raining heavily now and it felt like they were reliving titanic with a different storyline.
“Sw..Swayer?” Fiona called as she also noticed the wave. It might be a little far from them but the fact that their boat isn’t moving makes it easier for them to get carried away by it.
Shaun finally turned around as he was curious to why Fabiola wasn’t talking anymore, only to see her holding the edge of the boat as she tried to breathe well.
“Fabiola!” He yelled, leaving the controls and crouching down to her level, wondering what’s happening. That’s when he noticed the shadow up ahead and on raising his head up, he felt his heart skip a beat.
The wave had gotten closer to them and the rain wasn’t helping matters at all.
“Shaun!!! What are you doing! Get back to the controls!” Swayer yelled as Shaun’s boat was heading to theirs at full speed. The rumbling sound of thunder and the rain made it difficult for her voice to be heard. She looked at Fiona who looked like she wanted to just disappear and appear on dry land.
“Is this how we die?” Fiona muttered and Swayer glared at her. She suddenly remembered her encounter with quicksand and how scared she was. Fiona must be feeling the same way now. She won’t blame her, she’s also scared but she somehow knew they would survive wh@tëver is about to happen.
“I think we need to jump!” Swayer suddenly said as the boat and wave got closer to them. Jumping into the water would make things easier because with the speed of Shaun’s boat, they could get hurt if they remain on the boat.
“Why would he leave the boat running like that?” Fiona asked blinking severally. She does that when she’s scared.
Shaun finally got up after seeing the wave to turn the boat around. He needed to get to Swayer’s boat quick so they could navigate the wave but the moment he got hold of the controls, the boat lost power immediately but kept moving due to the speed at which it was before the power interruption.
“What the hell is going on?” Shaun kept pushing the button and turning the key but nothing happened. He looked ahead and they were about to crash into Swayers boat.
“Fiona jump!” Swayer immediately pushed the statue who was once Fiona into the water right before the two boats collided. The force sent her flying out of the boat since she was at the edge and before falling into the water, she hit her head on the body of Shaun’s boat, giving her a cut before she entered the water.
Meanwhile Shaun and Fabiola had also fallen into the water as their boat capsized.
Shaun immediately swam to get Fabiola who was already struggling to get to the surface. He grabbed her waist and brought her to the surface.
“Are you okay?” He asked her but she didn’t respond.
“Swayer!!” They heard Fiona’s voice calling out. Swayer was yet to resurface.
“Swayer! Where are you?!” Fiona called out worriedly but that’s not the only thing they should be worried about. Their boats had sunk into the water and the wave was now at the verge of swallowing them whole.
“I’m here!” Swayer called out from a distance. She had managed to get to the surface but her head was hurting so badly.
“Guys look out!!” Swayer screamed as the wave carried them all, with Fiona screaming her lungs out.
Shaun held onto Fabiola tightly, he rather get drowned by this wave than let her go, he promised to protect her and he’ll do it to the last.
This is all his fault, if he had listened to her at first, they wouldn’t be in this mess but then who would save Swayer and Fiona?
Even now they are here, they are all in danger still. The wave raised them high before finally sending them into the water with full force.
