“You called me Dad” Nelly said taking her seat
Mr Barry, Nelly’s father who was busy working on some files stopped what he was doing and faced his daughter
” Yes I did,he replied adjusting his glass
” Any problem Dad? She asked
“Leo called” he replied and she rolled her eyes
“What did he say? She asked plainly
” Nelly is it true that you planned on going back to Jake?. Mr Barry asked calmly
” Yes Dad” she replied
“And why?
“Because I still love him dad, she replied
” Young lady should I remind you what you did to him 6 years ago?
“I was out of my mind then”she defended
“You slept with his best friend for goodness sake! You broke the poor boy heart, you turn him into a drug addict and now you want to go back to him??? He shouted
“Have you lost it?! He added in disbelief
“I know what I did was wrong and am ready to Amend my mistakes which is why am going back to him
” And you think he will accept you? He is happily married which shows he has forgotten about the past” He said
“I know but am sure he still loves me”she replied trying hard not to let Mr Barry’s word get into her
” You are really out of your mind” he said shaking his head
“My advice to you as your father is for you to forget about Jake and move on with Leo, Leo has been there for you when we are nothing,he made you who you are today and don’t forget that he is the reason you aren’t blind today” Mr Barry added before leaving
Nelly’s thought about his dad advise
“Should I really let go of Jake? She thought but shake her head
“I love him” she pouted but thinking about Leo’s impact in her life made her more confused
Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard a knock on the door
” Ma’am, Mr Leo is here
” Leo? Where is he? She asked
“Downstairs ma’am” the maid replied
“Ok, I’ll be there in few” she said and the maids footsteps faded

Nelly got downstairs and met Leo waiting for her at the living room
“Leo” she called announcing her presence
” Good morning Nelly” he said with a smile as she walked to him

“You are here? She asked
“Yeah, I came here to tell you that am cancelling our engagement” he replied
” Why? She asked slowly as tear welled up in her eyes
“You said it yourself that you don’t want the engagement anymore and I don’t want it to look like am forcing you” he replied
“Just like that? She asked and he stared at her in confusion
“Shouldn’t you tried to convince me more harder? She yelled angrily as tears finally fell off her eyes
“Why should I try more harder, you have always been indifference to me despite the fact that we are dating,I tried to ignore that but it seems like I was just wasting my time” he replied
“I’ll get going, I wish you luck on getting Jake b_
He couldn’t complete his words when Nelly slammed her lips on his own kissing him deeply releasing her affection into it
Leo was shock feeling her lips on his own, this was the first time Nelly made the first move, just as he was about to respond to it, she broke it
” What if I don’t want to break the engagement anymore? She asked and he stared at her in surprise
“And Why? He asked with happiness swelling up in him
” Maybe because I realized how important you are to me and how much my heart yearned for you” she replied
” Really? He beamed and she nodded
“You are no more going back to Jake? He asked
” Yes am no more going back to him” she replied
” You won’t talk about Leaving me again? He asked
” No I won’t” she replied
” I love you Nelly” he said pulling her closer to his body
“More Leo” she replied and he smiled showing off his dimples
He moved his lips closer to hers, and slowly their lips met
Mr Barry who was watching them from the stairs smile widely
“Monica” our daughter is a grown up now”and I hope you are happy up there” he thought sniffing back his tears

Hazel fidgeted with her finger as she pace around the door of Jake’s Ward
After the doctor broke the news about his health to them, she has been

She walked to the door and was about to open the door but her hand freeze on the doorknob

” I am but am happy because Camella won’t be lonely anymore” she heard another voice which belongs to Jake and her heart ache
“What rubbish are you sputtering? Have you ever thought about how Hazel will feel when you are gone? She heard Amy’s voice which shows how angry she is
” Hazel is my baby mama not the woman I love, she will be okay when am gone, not like she loves me” she heard Jake’s reply
Hazel hand drop from the doorknob after hearing this
She shifted back in dejection and tears fell off her eyes like rain
“Am just his Baby Mama” she laugh out loud in tears
She turns back and started running out of the hospital in tears

Hazel kept running to God knows where with tears
Her heartache a lot, hearing that Jake is happy that he is dying soon so he could be with Camella hurt her more
She doesn’t know for how long she has been running but she stopped as she couldn’t run anymore
Her eyes caught a bench and she walked to it and Sat down
She started her tears afresh,
“Jake you are bastard! How dare you make me fall in love with you only for you to be leaving me soon? How dare you! She screamed out in tears earning attention and sympathy from the passerby but she didn’t care
The only regret she has was falling stupidly in love with Jake, maybe if she hadn’t fall for him,it wouldn’t have affected her like this
She kept crying non-stop till she had no more tears to shed
She started sniffing but she stopped a bit when she felt a presence beside her
“Why is the princess crying? She heard a farmiliar masculine voice beside her and she look up to see Ben who held no expression on his face
“It’s none of your business and please ignore me” she replied coldly and face another side
” Ok” he replied and turn to leave but stopped
“I really wish to ignore you but I can’t” he said with a sigh before sitting down beside her
“Why are you crying? He asked
“Why do you ask, it’s not like you care” she replied wiping her tears
” Yes I don’t but I can’t seem to ignore you” he replied truthfully
” You act like you are cold but deeply I know you care”
“Think wh@tëver you want” he replied with a scoff and silence went between them
“Jake is diagnosed with lung cancer” she said breaking the silence and Ben stay rigid on his seat
” He is dying soon” she added crying slowly
“What? Ben asked inaudibly not believing his ears,
“he is dying soon” he thought bitting his lips trying hard not to be sad
” The surprising part is that he is happy he is dying soon” Hazel said painfully
“And why? He asked looking surprised as well
” Because he will be joining Camella soon” she replied
” The Jake I know will never say that” he defended
“And you think am lying”? She replied and he sighed
” I guess he said that because of a reason probably because he wants you to ignore him so that when his gone, you won’t be sad” he said
“You think so? She asked feeling a bit hope and he shake his head
” I know so” he replied
“That jerk” she muttered under her breath
” Thank you Benedict but that doesn’t mean I forgive you for trying to kill Jake” she said with seriousness
“I don’t remember asking for forgiveness either” he scoffed standing up from his seat
“Rude” she commented rolling her eyes
” Wh@tëver,am leaving” he said and turn to leave
“You know I don’t know why you h@të Jake, but can’t you two make up already” she asked and he faced her
“Maybe in next life” he replied with a sad smile confusing Hazel
“Bye” he said and walked away while Hazel continue staring at his back
” What the hell does he mean? She muttered standing up as well

Ben boarded his car and his driver face him
“Should I drive to the warehouse”? The driver asked
“Plans change, take me home” he replied resting his head on the seat
” Ok sir”
Ben mind drifted back to his conversation with Hazel and about Jake’s illness
“Isn’t he supposed to be happy about it afterall he planned on killing him but to his dismay he is not happy about his illness
“Maybe I don’t really h@të him ” Not like he is the reason why am dying, the fault belongs to my dad and no one else” he concluded as a tear drop from his eyes

Hazel open Jake’s Ward door gently before walking inside closing the door
Her eyes landed on Jake who was lost in thought
She walked slowly to him till she was now standing
“Jake” she called and he came out of his trace
” Hazel, you are back” he asked with a smile
“How are you feeling? She asked slowly
” Good especially with the fact that am joining Camella soon” he replied
” You know you don’t have to act like you are ok with the results,I know you are doing this so I could ignore you and I know you saw me when I was about to enter your ward which was why you said all that” she said and he stared at her in shock
“How did You find out? He asked slowly in surprise
” Do you realize that you are really selfish, you think doing this will make me ignored you? She snapped
” Am sorry Hazel,I just don’t want you to be sad when am gone” he replied
” Am sorry” he added again
“You know instead of thinking about what how am going to feel when you are gone,we should try to spend the little time we have together,”We haven’t tried to know each other, let’s start from there” she said
“What did you suggest we should do? He asked
“Let’s go for our honeymoon” she replied with a smile
