Whitney sighed deeply and went to Natalie. she took a pen and wrote GWS(get well soon), then drew a heart beside on the bandage which was on Natalie’s head.
“What did you write?” Natalie laughed.
“I’m wishing you quick recovery” Whitney replied and immediately, ,
her phone rang.
“Hold on” Whitney chipped and took her phone out. When she saw it was her mum, she inhaled deeply. It was a video call.
“Hello mum” Whitney said, the instant she accepted the call.
“My baby. What’s up?” Shannon smiled.
“Cool” Whitey shrugged.
“Sis!!” Liam’s loud voice was heard and Shannon brought the screen to his face.
“Baby Liam” Whitney giggled.
“I’m not baby Liam anymore” He huffed.
“Huh?,,, Why…Why not?”
“Noel stole it from me”
Whitney looked at Shannon who diverted to her face and faked a low cough.
“Anyways, I called you to ask of something”
“And what’s that?” Whitney queried.
“What’s with Jade?, Your friend?, She got arrested??”
“I never told you, huh?” Whitney asked.
“What’s that?”
“About Jade of course. She is a green snake under the green grass. A big time pretender! I thought she was my friend but I was wrong” Whitney sighed.
“Hmm… You’re only making me confused. Tell me more” Shannon giggled.
“Well,,………” Whitney explained all in 8 minutes.
“The heck!!” Shannon scoffed, after listening.
“I’m truly baffled. You didn’t tell me all this!”
“There was no need…that’s why. It’s fine now though. She can go to h*ll for all I care”
Shannon snickered, and brushed down her hair with her palm.
“Whitney,,, actually… I already got our plane tickets”
“Huh?, Plane…tickets?”
“Hmm…Yeah. Got ’em last week. But, I think we might not be using it”
Whitney swallowed.
“Mum…”
“I’m in love with Neol…and I don’t think I can go to Germany. I haven’t declined the job request though. I’m leaving it on pending just in case”
“Okay mum. I love you and I’m also relieved too”
“I know right. Cheers to a new life?”
“Cheers” Whiyney chuckled.
Shannon blew a kiss before ending the call.
Whitney was going back to Natalie’s room but when she saw she was busy with a call, she went back.
“Mum…” Natalie said.
“How are you feeling??” Her mum quickly asked.
“I’m good. How did I know of my condition?” She asked.
“I saw a viral video online. You were on the hospital bed with some of your friends”
Natalie sighed.
“That should be uhmm…Prisca. Her vlog is something else. How did you see it in China over there”
“Huh?, Mum…What’s it?, What’s with the sad face?” She asked.
Her mother sighed.
“Actually, Its your dad”
“What??, What’s going on again??”
“You know he is still on probation here in China”
“Yes, yes” Natalie nodded, sitting upright.
“Well, the cops got a tip that your father actually owned that drugs which was found on him back then when he was traveling”
“What’s this? I thought the detectives thoroughly investigated and everything settled. The lawyer assured us too”
“Well. there was still some holes”
“So, what’s happening?”
“They’re still investigating and your Dad has been visiting the station for a while now”
“For a while?? You didn’t tell me!”
“I didn’t want you worried. I just wanted you to face yiur studies and Jayden, whom you came back for”
“I don’t love Jayden” She said, flatly.
“Huh?”
“I’m dating someone else”
“Huh…
“Mum, I think I need to see you and Dad. I’m f*cking worried right now”
“And this was what I was trying to avoid”
“I don’t care. After this year exams, I’m coming to China and I’ve made up my mind”
“Hmm…And what about this guy you said you’re dating?”
“I’ll talk to him, and I’ll come back for him”
Clark who had crept out from the hostel, to meet Natalie with food and drink sadly watched her from where he hid, just behind the door.
His eyes turned misty, after hearing all that. He sniffed lowly and shuffled away the scene.

Maureen eyes furrowed, and her brows arched when she saw someone familiar riding a swing, mellowly.
She was just coming back fron the convenience store.
“John?” She muttered.
A smile ran across her lips, suddenly.
“John!” She gushed and ran to him.
“Angel” He smiled and stopped the ride. They hugged each other and later broke it.
Maureen looked down at him.
“How’s your friend?” He asked.
His arms were around her waist. He was still sitting on the swing, and she was standing. They were facing each other.
“Better now. I went to get us something to eat and drink” She raised the yellow bag to his face.
“Oh…” He smiled.
“What are you doing here anyways?” She kept her arms on his shoulders.
“Just…thinking out loud” He muttered.
“About?” She asked.
“Us” He muttered, again, tightening his hold around her waist.
“And why are you so worried?” She asked, looking at his disturbed eyes.
“In the nearest future, Do you see us together…as a couple? Happy?” He whispered.
Tears filled her eyes immediately. She couldn’t apprehend her emotion at that moment but what thing she knew for sure was that, if she talked, the tears in her eyes would escape.
“Hmm Hmm” She hummed, nodding her head.
Nodding her head was a big deal cause it sure made the tear in her eyes escape.
But just at that crucial moment, She bent her head low and captured his lips on hers.
At first, their lips was just numb but in time, their lips treasured eachother into their sweetened mouths and they kissed deeply like the stars which were in the sky were sparkling just for them.
Whilst kissing, John took his hands to her face and wiped her tears off.
MEANWHILE, SHANNON’S APARTMENT**
“You aren’t my wife but you want to see my family?” Noel raised both brows, confused and amused.
Shannon giggled and nodded.
She was on his thighs. Her legs were at one side. She had her arms on his shoulders.
“Oh wow. So, how will i introduce you to them?” Noel asked.
“Introduce me as your fiancée”
“Huh??”
“Yes, I’ll marry you” She smiled, taking her fingers to his face.
Their eyes each contained tears of happiness, joy and love.
