CODY’S PLACE**
Cody got down from the car grudgingly, holding his jacket in hand.
He was about to shut the car door when he saw a phone in the car.
The babyish design is enough to tell him that it’s Beauty’s.
He took it and sighed, pocketing it before closing the car door.
He kept standing there, thinking about how Beauty left him earlier, he hasn’t been able to think about why she did that exactly, it’s making him think crazily.
“I did nothing wrong, was she uncomfortable with me? ” He asked himself, still lost in thoughts.
He was still on it when his jacket fell from him.
That brought him back to his senses, he picked it and walked in, meeting his mum in the living room, she was boiling angrily.
“Mum” he said, and she stood immediately, she walked to him and landed a hot slap on his left cheek.
“How dare you lie to me!, I called your homeroom teacher and he said he didn’t give you any group assignment!, So you lied just to go out and have fun?, Huh? ” She shouted.
When Cody kept looking at her without talking, he slapped him again on the same cheek.
“Are you suddenly mute?, Where the hell are you coming from! ” She yelled.
” I went out on a date!” He shouted back.
“What!”
“Yes I went on a date with the girl I like, I can’t even do that?, When am I gonna be free from your prison mum?, You practically live my life for me!, I’m not in control of any f*cking thing in my life! ” He yelled again, and Mrs Aston slapped him again.
“I’m busy working my @$$ off to carve a future for you!, I’m doing everything for you but you choose to be an ungrateful @$$!” She yelled.
“Did I ever ask for it?, I never asked you to carve any f*cking way!”
“Say that again!” She replied, raising her hand to slap him again, but Mr Aston appeared and held her hand.
“It’s ok now, stop” he said.
“How dare he talk back at me!, How dare he go on a f*cking date when he was supposed to be reading!, His engagement with Margo is only some weeks away!” She shouted hotly.
“I’m not doing that engagement, never!” Cody replied and started climbing the stairs.
“Cody come back here!” Mrs Aston yelled, wanting to climb with him, but her husband held her down.
“Let go of me!” She shouted, trying to free herself.

CODY’S ROOM**
Cody got in and sat in front of the mirror, staring at his face that’s all red from the slaps.
He was almost at the verge of tears earlier, but he kept it in, deciding that he can’t be displaying weakness in front of her everyday.
His mum has always been like that since he grew up to know her, obsessed with the top and can do anything to be in the spotlight, she wants same life for him and he has been satisfying her, till Beauty arrived and started taking the spotlight.
He sniffed and covered his face with his palms, thinking about Beauty again.
He decided to try her line but immediately he took his phone, he remembered her phone is with him, he brought out her phone and pressed it on.
“I don’t know her password” he muttered, staring at her lock screen wallpaper.
It’s a picture of herself, she’s holding her favorite teddy… Coco
She looks so cute that he almost kissed her in the picture, but he quickly dropped it before standing, and his phone rang immediately.
It’s Allyson.
“Hey Allyson” he picked slowly.
“Cody” she said awkwardly.
“Why the awkwardness?, Anything wrong?” He asked.
“Are you….still at the date?” She asked, and he raised a brow.
“How did you know about it?, Beauty told you?”
“No, I… Found out somehow”
“She left halfway through the movie, she even forgot her phone” he replied, looking at the phone on the table.
“Oh…..ok” she replied.
“You called to ask just that?” He asked.
“Yeah… goodnight, sweet dreams” she replied.
“Goodnight” he replied and hung up.
He looked at his phone, feeling suspicious about the call before throwing it on the bed, then he entered the bathroom for his night shower.

HOLLANDS MANSION**
Daniel and Malia were still watching a comedy show in the living room, they were laughing like maniacs when Beauty came in.
“Wait… I didn’t hear the sound of a car engine…. Cody didn’t drop you?” Malia asked.
“I told him not to, goodnight big sis I need to sleep early” she replied and went upstairs.
“Cody?” Daniel asked suspiciously.
“Oh… She was paired with Cody and Allyson for the assignment, he came to pick her up earlier cos they did it at his place, I was expecting him to drop her” Malia lied, throwing popcorn into her mouth.
“Sounds like a lie” Daniel replied, looking at her with the corner of his eyes.
“Find out the truth then, I’m really not in the mood to think about you” she replied, rolling eyes at him before standing.
“Going in already?” He asked.
“Of course!, You made me lose my appetite for the movie!” She snapped, still rolling eyes as she went upstairs.
Daniel laughed, happy that he now has the popcorn all to himself.
He shoved as many as possible into his mouth, concentrating back on the movie, then his phone rang.
“Dooley again?” He said, deciding to pick up.
“Why are you always like this Danny!, I said I’m sorry already so why have you been bouncing my calls!, The fault is my sister’s!, You should be getting mad at her and not me!, I can’t take this anymore you bloody jerky idiotic fool!!” She shouted, almost bursting his eardrums.
He quickly took the phone far away from his ear, smiling slowly.
“Did you just yell and curse?, Don’t talk to me throughout tommorow” he said jokingly.
“Do you know I think of killing you ninety nine times a day?” She replied.
“Killing me or kissing me?” He said naughtily.
“Daniel!!!!” She screamed, and he fell from the couch as he laughed hard.
“I’m hanging up” she said.
“No! lady dragon wait!” He shouted, sitting up.
“When are we starting work on our project?” He asked.
“That’s what you wanted to say?” She replied, and he could imagine her smirking.
“Were you expecting sweet dreams or something?” He replied.
“F*ck you ok?” She replied and hung up.
“Her temper is gross” Daniel laughed.
