Ivy has been wondering how best to live and have been trying to develop interest back in piano after her conversation with Dylan. He might not lay his threats directly, but the conversation he had with her was to threaten her to stay away from Charles. Ella and Maxwell have been walking on eggshell around her, hoping she agree to return to music school because they thought she was in a relationship with Charles. It seems all good when they think that way, but being threatened by the Hewlett made her realize that she has to avoid it all somehow.

“What made them think I was in a relationship with him?” she thought.

Getting the thoughts off her mind, she started thinking of a way to escape, and music school seems to be the only escape. Not receiving help Maxwell, but finding her own way out of her problems but everything changed, eavesdropping on Maxwell and Ella’s conversation only to find out that her sister was murdered by them.

She made a fist glaring at them before storming out of the room, out of the house, wandering around the street in tears.

“How could they?” she cried, wandering around the street. She almost broke down in tears by the roadside when she felt an arm grabbed her. She looked up at her savior, and saw Jon.

“Are you ok?” he asked, and helped her get her balance.

“I’m not,”

“Do you wan to talk about it?” he asked, and tears flowed freely down her face.

“I don’t,”

“Then… do you want to drink it away?”

“That should do,” she muttered.

“Come with me,” with that, he grabbed her hand, dragging her away.
*
They went ro a bar together, and started drinking, hoping the alcohol could wash away all her problems and set things right.

“You seem really heartbroken, did someone hurt you?” Jon asked, and she looked at him drunkly.

“Two people…” she slurred.

“What did they did to you?”

“Can you help me?”

“Of course. I would do anything to help you get back at those who hurt you, remember I told you that my feelings don’t change easily,”

“Then can you klll for me?”

“What?”

“I want to klll them, I really want to… but I don’t want to get my hands dirty,” she said, and he chuckled.

“Should we discuss this once you sober up?” he asked, adjusting a strand of hair from her face.

“Should we?” she muttered, and moved her lips down to his.

After discussing some important procedures, with Mr. Marson, Charles and Violet round up the meeting and we’re about leaving.

“There is something else we should add to our plan, if they really murdered Ms. Holt, then Miss Holt is not safe at that house,” Mr. Marson said.

“They have been maltreating her all these while,” Violet/Carolyn said.

“Yes. She reached out for help, but there was nothing I could do. But how do you know that?” Mr. Marson said.

“Violet…”

“Oh, she must’ve had a tough time watching her sister suffer that much,” Mr. Marson said, and Violet made a fist.

“Yes,” she muttered.

“Ivy won’t leave,” Charles said.

“You met Ivy? Did you tell her all these?”

“No, I couldn’t. There is no way she would believe it, I rather not scare her with what she can’t believe,”

“How’d you meet?”

“I have been protecting Ivy for a while now. When she tried to commit suicide, and when she got bullied by others,”

“Suicide?!”

“Mr. Marson, don’t let’s bother ourselves with that. You’re right, we should find a way to save Ivy,”

“How about you leave that to me?” Charles said.

“What will you do?” Violet and Mr. Marson asked in unison.
*
Charles finished typing a message and showed it to them.
💬*I’m aware of your dirty acts even though you don’t know me. I won’t introduce myself, I’ll leave you to find it out on your own. But the moment you hurt Ivy, or if anything happens to her, the whole world will be aware of what you did to Violet. There is judgement on earth for murders,*

“Wow…” Violet and Mr. Marson exclaimed.

“This is so good,” Violet said, and Charles smiled.

“Do you think this will work?” Mr. Marson asked.

“It should. But I won’t be safe later on. They will be worked up trying to find out who is behind the anonymous sender,” Charles said.

“Sir, this is too dangerous,” Mr. Feng said.

“What we are about to do is even more dangerous,” Charles said, and smirked.

“Leave this to me, I’ll take care of Miss Holt,” Mr. Marson said, and Violet looked at him.

“But I already h sent it. It’s getting late, we will be on our way now,” Charles said, and winked at Violet before leaving.

“Mr. Marson, thanks a lot for your time and also for believing us. This really meant a lot to me,”

“You seem to care about Miss Holt a lot,” Mr. Marson said.

“I feel like Violet is already a part of me… I don’t know how to make you understand this but this fight means a lot to me as much as it does to you,”

“I see. You must have built a bond with Ms. Holt,” he said, and she smiled.

“Drive safely on your way back home, sir,” she said, and bowed slightly before leaving.

“She is so much like Violet,” Mr. Marson thought, and instantly shoved the thoughts away.
*
Violet went to join Charles and Mr. Feng who were waiting for her in the car.

“I thought I was going to wait forever,” Charles complained, and she smiled.

“Sorry about that. I can’t teleport anymore so you even have to wait for me,” she muttered, and he patted her hair gently.

“You did well today, Vee. It must’ve been really hard for you,”

“What?”

“What?” he asked back, and composed himself.

“What?” she grumbled.

“What? Are we going to keep up with the whats?” he lashed.

“Sir, can we leave now?” Mr. Feng asked.

“Sure. I can’t believe I stayed out this late in a boring hangout,” he said rolling his eyes, and Violet scoffed.

“Why are you suddenly getting angry when you were acting nice just a moment ago?” she blurted.

“Acting. Because that’s exactly what it was. I was just acting, there is no way I would be nice to you in that body or even as a ghost. Keep dreaming,”

“It’s not even my dream. Who cares about your courtesy?” she fired back.

“Oh… you just drew the line. Since we don’t care about each other, then there is no reason for this conversation. You’re in human body now, you can’t even stay with me anymore, you’ve to go home to wherever that lady belongs and we can always meet only when needed. We don’t even have to ever meet!”

“What? Where this lady belongs? I can’t go back there,” she whined, and he rolled his eyes, smiling in fulfillment.
*
Violet carried her luggage looking at Charles with pouted lips.

“What are you waiting for?” he asked.

“Can I—can I…”

“Can you what?”

“Can I get a room here? I promise not to be a burden to you,” she said, rushing her words and he laughed.

“Your presence is a burden enough. Why will I let a freeloader into my house?”

“This girl is broke…”

“Do I care? Go find a job and make a living, because it seems like you will have to live like that for a long time,”

“I promise to look for a job somehow, and I’ll pay for the rent,”

“I’m not renting out any room, I don’t need a roommate!”

“Then…”

“Then nothing! Just leave. I already have your phone number, I’ll call you if needed,”

“Should I really leave?”

“Why should you stay? A man and a woman can’t live together, you’re a human now,”

“But…”

“Not buts!”

Ivy woke up the following morning and scanned her environment. She jotted up from bed the moment she realized that she was in a strange room and saw Jon who just came out of the bathroom.

“Gosh… what have I done?” she grumbled.

“Good morning, Ivy”

“It was you…”

“I didn’t take advantage of you. You wanted it, and I couldn’t resist myself either,”

“I would have imagined,”

“What are we now?” he asked, seating next to her on the bed.

“Do you build a special relationship with every lady you have slept with?”

“That’s not my style. I don’t take just take anyone to my bed. I’m very picky,” he said, and she scoffed.

“So… you think there is a special relationship now after we spend a night together?”

“I told you before Ivy, my feelings don’t change easily and we didn’t sleep together, we made love,” he said, patting her hair.

“What do you want from me?”

“A relationship. Give me a chance,”

“You told me to consider my feelings before accepting yours. If I give you a response now based on how I feel, you might be disappointed,”

“Then give me a chance to court you,” he said, and she chuckled.

“Courtships after sleeping together or making love as you phrased it, is a whole load of bullshit,” she said, and he chuckled, sadly.

“We can’t build a relationship, neither can we pretend like this never happens. So should we just act like strangers? I don’t know if you have nightstands a lot with strangers, but I don’t fancy it,”

“Neither do I,”

“So what do you really want?”

“I don’t know,”

“Your heart and your mind aren’t speaking together,”

“But I’m sure of one thing. I can’t date you, I can’t date anyone,”

“May I know the reason?”

“Because I’m a very complicated person. My whole life is a load of shlt. You might not believe all those rumors about me, but some of them are true. My family is a mess. My sister passed on all our family’s asset to her husband before she passed away, and I am currently a servant at my own house. Just when I’m trying to live somehow, I discovered a sho—…” she was saying in tears, and he put his finger on her lips to stop her from talking.

“Who cares?” he muttered, and she looked at him.

“I do. I care,”

“Why bother yourself with that? Why allow your scar determine how you live your life?”

“Because it’s a part of me,”

“Let me tell you a secret about me. My family has been a mess since I was a teenager, my father moved in with his mistress and my mother has been having a tough time since then. She couldn’t divorce him before she feared that he might transfer all his assets to his mistress to avoid diving it, and she can’t fight him, because she feared that he might change his will, leaving my sister and I with nothing. We have been having a hard time but I didn’t let it weigh me down. I have a huge scar I’m trying to live naturally with, because there is nothing I can do about it. I have to live with it, and if I will live with it, I should try to be happy because happiness is all that matters. Everyone deserves to be happy, don’t let the scar you can’t heal from weigh you down,” he said, and her brighten up as she embraced him.

“You’re right, Jon. I should live happily because everyone deserves to be happy,” she said, and disengaged from the embrace.

“I love you Ivy, and I want you to be happy,” he said, and kissed her, and she kissed back passionately.

Chairman Hewlett was fuming in anger in his office when Dylan that he summoned minutes ago joined him.

“Explain this!” the chairman shouted, and threw a document at him.

“What…”

“Charles filled a petition against me to reclaim his shares! What were you doing when he was meeting with a lawyer and planning all these?!”

“Dad, I…”

“Listen to me, Dylan, you stop this anyway you can. If Charles gets everything back, there will be no place for the both of us. Do you understand that?”

“I understand,”

“Good,”

“Dad, I don’t know if this corroborate…”

“Say it away,”

“A woman moved in with Charles, and they were together all day, yesterday. I wanted to report it, but I thought it was just one of his other women, but she might be different,”

“You said it was a college student before, and you took care of her. So are you trying to tell me there is someone else motivating him, and you were wrong all along?”

“I don’t know, dad. But she moved in with him, Char—…” he was saying, and the chairman threw a file at him.

“Go out there and find out who the h£ll they are!”

“Carolyn Wilson. She is a lowly college student. Charles has never been with her before until yesterday, so I don’t know what thier relationship is “

“Not a fellow elite, not an idol, not a model, but a lowly college student?!”

“Yes, dad. She spent the night at his place, she even went there with her luggage,”

“It’s time for Charles to return home,” the chairman said, and took his phone to call Charles.
