Kunle didn’t leave her entirely, he heard her sobbing seriously. He was hurt and wanted to go back to her room, but at the same time scared that she might get angry on seeing. Not like he knew her greatest fear.
“I just that she will be okay..” He muttered and left the door.
“You can’t just that to him, he’s a human too.” Her inner mind said. “Didn’t you see what he did, he tried to kill me. He knew my weakness, my fear.” She said.
“I don’t think so, I mean he’s harmless.” Her inner replied. “What do you know about him? Wait don’t tell me that you want him?”
“Don’t tell me that you want him, because if that’s what you want. Well am sorry, cause you’re not getting a chance.” She said.
“You’re too mean, still can’t wait for you to fall in love. And be like, I can’t leave you, I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”
“Just shut up and get off my head and mind.” She yelled at herself. “I can’t leave you, I mean am always gonna stay with you. I’m here to stay.”
“Wh@tëver, just stay in peace okay. And stop interrupting.” Amber said to herself.
“Well, I’ve always been peaceful and you know that.” Her inner mind replied. “Can I get some sleep, now?”
“Apologize to him..” Her inner mind said. “You got to be kidding, I have no business with him. He should apologize to me, he made me feel terrible. I was shaking. Are you not bored about that?”
“I am.” Her inner mind replied. “Oh goodness, I can’t believe that I’m talking to myself, I just need a good sleep.” She said to herself and rested her head on the pillow.
“Mom..” She muttered and closed her eyes, for some minutes, her phone rang. This is a coincidence.” She thought with a smile.
“Hello, mom. I’ve missed you.” She said. “I miss you too, how are you doing?” She asked.
“I’m fine, mom.” Amber replied. “And you.” She added. “I’m good, I hope you’re not having a bad time.” She said.
She recall what happened some money ago, “No, mom. I’m good and it’s all good.” She replied.
“What about Kunle?” She asked. “He’s fine.” She replied. “Mom, let’s talk later in the morning, I love you.”
“I love you too, my dear.” Helen replied and hung up.
She sighed softly.
“Why did he switch off the light? I h@të my life, He’s gonna make fun of me. I will just pretend as if nothing happened.” She mumbled.
That same night, after Amber slept off. Kunle came back to the room to know how she’s doing, even though she was sleeping the moment he walked in, he was happy to see her sleep peacefully and the light was actually on. He kissed her forehead and then left her room.

The next morning, Amber woke up and went to the bathroom, to brush and same time take her bath, she walked out of the bathroom and grabbed her dress, she wore it and grabbed her hand bag and her car key.
The cook served the food, she glared at the meal and that of Kunle. She sighed softly and called the attention of the cook.
“Uhm…why’s there no plantain on my rice?” She asked, in a lower tone. She didn’t want him to hear her, he understands as she demonstrated.
“What’s the matter?”
“It’s nothing.” Amber replied, pissed off. “Has the plantain finished?” He asked the cook.
“Yes, sir.” She replied. “You should have shared it, I’m not the only one here. We’re couples” He said.
“You can leave now.” Amber said. She bow and left. She picked up her phone and called Kelly, her phone was ringing but no response. “Sh|t..” She cursed.
Kunle was just staring at her, she continued making calls and constant hiss. She called Kim, but no response.
“Why are they not picking my calls? Kelly you’re fired.” She mumbled. She slammed the phone on the table.
“It’s okay, you can have mine. No, keep it for yourself so that you won’t say that am begging you.”
He chuckled, “What? I won’t do that, I’m not like that.” Kunle said. “Okay, I didn’t beg you. You’re the one putting the plantain.”
“Yeah, I am the one putting it. Okay you didn’t beg me. Gosh you’re troublesome and a talkative person.” He muttered.
She rolled her eyes, She was surprised that he gave her all the fried plantain. “Are you sure that you don’t it?”
“No, am good.” He replied. “Do you eat much of this?” He asked as he watched her, pick the plantain first. She nods in response. He smiled after eating, he carried out the plates and soon the maid came and removed the other things on the table.
“Why did you do it?” She asked. “Do what?” He questioned. “The plates, why did you take it out?”
“Well, it’s just me. I’m being me.” He said, smiling. “I guess you are going to work.” He said.
“Yeah, I gotta go now.” She replied and carried her bag. She rolled her eyes as she walked out.
He chuckled and mumbled, “Not even a kiss, I gotta go to work too.” He said to himself and dress up for work.
Amber got to her office, she sat down and called Kelly to her office. Immediately she came to her office.
“Good morning, ma’am.”
“What’s good about this morning?” Amber asked, staring at her. “I’m sorry ma’am..” Kelly apologized.
“Where did you keep your phone? I called you but you didn’t pick up.” Amber said.
“I wasn’t with my phone ma’am, and it was on silent.”
“Oh, probably you were with your boyfriend. You forgot that you got work to do.”
“I’m sorry ma’am..”
“What else will I expect if not sorry? Anyways I was calling you to get me fried plantains but unfortunately you didn’t pick up and so he gave his. For that reason…” She paused, staring at her. Kelly bowed her head, waiting for her to complete her statement.
“Get out of my office.” Amber said.
“Thank you ma’am.”
HOURS PASSED
Kunle came back from work and sat down in the living room, the maid greeted him, he replied and asked for water.
She came back with the water. “Is my wife back from work?” He asked. “No, sir.” She replied.
“Alright, thanks.” He muttered, she left for the kitchen. “What’s keeping her?” He asked himself.
He took his phone and called her, she didn’t pick up. As he was about to call her for the second time, she walked in and greeted him.
“How was your work today?” He asked. “Cool.” She replied, heading to the stairs. “You sound like…” He paused the moment she turned, staring at him. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine, don’t interfere with my business.” She said and walked away. He stood there, staring at her back and shrugged his shoulders. He grabbed his brife case and headed upstairs.
