CHAPTER 71
“What?” She exclaimed glaring to him
“That’s fine, kiara you should team up with woo okay?” Jake said as rehana scoffed, her plans were ruined she had wanted to be with Jake and not this fool and now the scvmbag had managed to ruin her plans
She glared h@tëfully at him as the excitement in woo had died down he managed to avoid he gaze at him
“I too will go with rehana” it was a student who had seeing liar to be her role model and was willing to go anywhere kiara was, her name’s Sheela, and that too 2 more students joined in making them 5 in numbers
“Kiara you’ll lead your group” Jake said as she nodded though not whole heartedly ,
Afterwards another group of five were formed making it 10 students that had formed two groups and now what was lef of them were five more students who hadn’t formed a group
Jake, rehana, Liana and two more students
“Guess the rest of us will make the last group then ?” jaycee one of the students said as jake turned to rehana who looked away
“A group we are” jake replied
“group1 should take the first path by your left, group two the second path by your right and our group being the third group will take the last path thats in the middle of the two paths” jake gave out orders as the other groups went out to the paths given to them
“C’Mon” he said and begun going into the paths, as his group thrailed behind him, in the paths had long tall trees and dried wood stems that blocked the path from going farther, jake used his spade to clear off the branch on his path, as his groupates did same,
It was already getting dark, so they used their head torch in other to see in the dark
“Ouch” rehana exclaimed when a branch had scratch a little at her skin, jake immediately ran to her, getting rid of every branch that may be an obstacle for her
“A…are you okay?” He asked immediately using his handkerchief to tie the affected part of her arm, and then looked up to her, their eyes met with each other, their gaze showed how much they wanted to be together but unfortunately an enmity was formed between them, one was egoistic and the other upset, ad this was the obstacle between them
“I..I’m fine” she said slowly holding up to her arm as Jake let go off her and nodded
“You should be more careful next time, the woods are dangerous at this time” he remimded and walked away as rehana kept looking at him, her heart told her a lot of things, all she felt for him was love even though she wasn’t willing to accept this fact due to his cruel behavior,
“Are you okay?” Liana car forward as rehana nodded
“I suggest you walk with a partner to avoid bumping into unseen obstacles, you know we could look at each other’s back whole we search” Liana said with a smile as rehana nodded
“Okay, thanks for the kind gesture” rehana said as Liana replied with a smile,
“Mind if I join you girls?” Another girl named moon joined their squads
“Sure” Liana said as the three girls moved at the same pace
“Are we not closer to where these gold are” Jaycee the second guy in their group asked running up to Jake who turned back staring at rehana
He couldn’t understand why he unconsciously showed so much care and concern for her, something he never planned to do, no matter how much he tried to h@të her, he just finds himself getting closer to her
“Jake?” Jaycee called again bringing his mind back to consciousness
“Hey dude it seems you’re lost in your thoughts perhaps” he said coming closer to him
“What do you want?” jake asked coldly
“What do I want?, the last time I could remember we were all in this together we are all teammates here,” jaycee said confusedly
“Yeah, I.. I’m sorry about that, I got distracted” Jake said
“Distracted by them right?” Jaycee said with a side smile staring at rehana and co, they were following the traces of the ground, looking for a space that might look like a newly dug place, as that was a hint in locating this minerals(golds)
As Jake sent him a glare that made him comport himself,
Jake was concerned in looking for this minerals as he was oblivious o what was a head of him
“Jake, stop!!” He heard a voice behind him as Jaycee ran to him,
“You just stepped into a trap, and any move from you will be getting you in trouble” he warned as Jake turned to him
“What nonsense are you..” He felt something grip hard on his right leg ankles, looking down to see a rope that had tied up his leg and If he took another step then it’ll be seizing both of his legs and he’d be hanging upside down to a tree that has a height of about 20 feet long, and they’d be a sword that’ll be tearing him into two halves,
“J… Jake?!” Rehana called with a stunned expression, though everyone was stunned but she was more wearied as she ran to him
“No do not come any closer to him, or else he’d be taken over by the ropes” jaycee warned
“W..what do we do now?,” rehana asked as he gaze met with Jake, her eyes has already gone all wet
“do something Jaycee, we beed to get Jake out of there before its too late” rehana persuaded,
‘Jake what do I do, I’m confused, I’d know of how traps works but I do not know how to rescue anyone from a trap” jaycee said
Jake bent over to try cutting the ropes but it was impossible as that instigated its aggression, almost seizing his other leg If he’d lost stamina,
“No Jake please don’t try to do anything, or you might lost your stamina” rehana said
” I have an idea,” rehana said as Jake’s leg shifted and immediately the second rope gripped his othet ankle, seizing him as rehana ran to his aid holding up to a tree she got to grip his hand ae that stalled him from dashing to the gead of th tree and getting slitted by a sword
” I won’t let you go” she said as she too was slowly loosing hold on the tree she felt alot of pains as her hands trembled
“Just let go of me rehana, I do not want you to get hurt” Jake said trying to let go
“No Jake I can’t let you go”
“We’re both going to get killed by this thing if you don’t let me off” Jake said
“I don’t mind dying with you Jake, I don’t think I can live without you” rehana said as Jake sent a sharp glance to her,
