“Can you just stop pulling me? You are frustrating me “, Rowan complained as he couldn’t cope with the way Leon was pulling him, forcing in to dance in circles.
“Do you like our presentation Mr Rowan?”, Ruby asked and he just nodded.
“What’s there to enjoy?”, He muttered and turned towards Mr James direction and he saw him and Mrs Janice talking and laughing.
“Is my wish finally coming to pass? Am I really going to see Mr James get married before i die?”, He thought.
“Mr Rowan how old are you now?”, Ruby asked and he furrowed his brows.
“Why are you asking?”, He queried.
“I just want to know our age difference, I want to know if it is still possible.”, She replied.
“He has a girlfriend already Ruby.”, Heaven replied.
“I am just trying to bond now so that if one day, if you guys are no longer together, I can be with him.”, She replied.
“Let’s drink more.”, Leon said as he went to bring more beer.
“Before you drink further, just keep in mind that I won’t allow you to sleepover.”, He warned.
“Isn’t it your birthday? You are supposed to treat us with care.”, Heaven said.
“Mr Rowan, I am thinking that we should go to a trip, that would be my birthday gift.”, Mr James said..
“Yes we should go, it would be so much fun.”, The other four said happily.
“I’m sorry but I can’t go, you guys can go without me.”, He said and everyone just looked at him sadly.
“It would be a people where they are a less people and it won’t be for that long, if you feel uncomfortable you can just come back.”, Mrs James explained.
“You know that it is not possible right Mr James?”, Rowan said.
“But …”
“You know better than everyone Mr James.”, He said and got up from his seat and left.
“I will try to convince him.”, Heaven said and followed him.
“I am not going Nevaeh! Forget it! I can’t let what happened on our anniversary day happen again.”, He said.
“Wh@tëver happened on the anniversary day is all in the past now, I was too pissed and hard on you then, that was why I wanted you to go out but this time around, this is different. It is about you being happy and being confident about going out.”, She said.
“Why don’t you just try it? Who knows if this might be the cure to your sickness? You might get used to it and start going out.”, She said.
“It is dangerous Neva and besides we are supposed to be working and we haven’t even done anything yet, if my dad finds out that I went out, he will be very mad at me.”, He said.
“That is because your dad is worried, he thinks you won’t be safe outside but we will try to convince him. I, personally will do my best to protect you.”, She said.
“It will be so much fun, you can count on the five of us to protect you and besides would you want me to go and flirt with guys there?”, She asked.
“Should I say you are threatening me or blackmailing me?”
“I am just telling you the possibility, if I see guys who are more handsome, I will just flirt with them and maybe from there, we will just start dating.”, She said.
“Alright! I will go, I hope you are happy now but if anything happens to me, it will be on you.”, He said and she nodded.
“By the way, where is my gift? When do you plan on giving me or is it on the bed like Leon said.”, He said and heaven just hit him.
“I didn’t buy anything for you.”, She said.
“Huh!”
“I didn’t remember to buy you one, I was too excited to come to even remember to get you a gift. You got a card and a gift from someone else and got nothing from me.”, She said sadly.
“It’s okay, you can still give me. Seeing you here is enough for me.”, He said.
“Thank you for wearing the necklace I got for you.”, He said happily.
“Don’t you think you have to perform your duty as my girlfriend?”
“What duty?”
“A peck on the cheek.”, He said.
“A peck on the cheek?”, she asked in confirmation.
“It’s just a peck, why are you having a second thought, I am not asking you to sleep with me.”, He said laughing.
“It is just a peck on the cheek, it doesn’t mean anything.”, she thought and moved close to peck him but he quickly turned so that it will land on his lips.
“Oh my goodness!”, She exclaimed covering her mouth while Rowan just laughed at her.
“So you can laugh? You tricked me, if you keep kissing me like this, I can ….”, She trailed off after she realized that it wasn’t what she should say.
She was about saying that if you keep me like this, I can fall in love with you and everything would be ruined but she quickly cut herself off.
“You can what? You can fall in love with me unconditionally? You are red, you are blushing.”, He stated and she looked away.
“I get red whenever I am uncomfortable.”, She said and immediately they heard a noise.
Just like how they were eavesdropping that other time, that was how Leon, Mrs Janice and ruby were doing until Leon lost his balance making them fall on the ground.
“We get caught all the time because of you .”, Mrs Janice muttered to Leon.
“Don’t I deserve some privacy?”, Rowan asked.
“We weren’t actually eavesdropping, we just wanted to know how Nevaeh would convince you.”, Leon said trying to explain the situation.
“I would believe if Mrs Janice or ruby said what you just said but since it’s you, you were obviously eavesdropping.”, Rowan said to Leon and Leon sneered at him.
“Did you just sneer at your boss? Do you want to lose your job?”, Rowan said and Leon ran to him.
“Calm down boss, I was just playing. Why would you want to fire someone on your birthday?”, He asked as he clung to Rowan but Rowan shooed him away
“Don’t touch me.”, He said but Leon was doing the opposite.
“What happened to the distance I told you guys to keep from me?”, He asked.
“It means you are comfortable with them Mr Rowan and they are comfortable with you.”, James said.
“Comfortable my foot!”
“Mr Rowan is it true that you are comfortable with me? I can’t believe it.”, Leon said as he kept following Rowan, who was just walking around the house to avoid him.
“So Mr James what do you intend to do on the trip?”, Ruby asked.
“What trip are you talking about?”, Someone’s voice was heard and everyone turned to where the voice came from.
“Mr Harry!”
“I never knew that you have people celebrating birthday with you, I thought it was only me that come to visit you.”, He said.
“What are you doing here?”, Rowan asked.
“I came to celebrate my brother’s birthday, it looks like everyone is having fun here. So what trip were you guys talking about?”, He asked but no one said a word.
