A ROAD, 7PM***
Lauren came out of the store, holding a white nylon in her hand. She hummed a song as she walked around the busy streets.
She turned to a corner and started walking in a dark alley, still humming a song absentmindedly.
All of a sudden, she heard some shuffling sounds behind her and she froze on the spot immediately.
She turned her head sideways, looking at her back in fright but saw no one. She heaved a sigh before continuing her journey.
She was almost getting to her home when a hand suddenly grabbed her. A startled scream left her lips and her eyes grew wide in terror when she saw who held her.
It was a hefty guy, looking drunk. His eyes raked her body and he licked his lips which felt disgusting to her.
“What do you think you are doing?” She asked in a steady voice, trying to calm her racy heart.
Her eyes widened to the size of an orange when she saw other guys appearing just behind the drunk guy. That was when she realized that he wasn’t alone!
“Aaahhhhhh,” she screamed and jerked her hand from him. She turned and took to her heels immediately.
As she ran, she couldn’t stop looking at her back, watching in fright as the men chased after her.
Just when she got to the gate of her house, a hand pulled her to a hard thing… Was it a rock, she wasn’t sure.
Her face was pressed on the hard rock like she guessed and in some seconds, she started hearing groans of pain.
After a while, everything suddenly died down and slowly, her face was released and she moved her head away from the hard rock.
“Are you okay?” Kylie asked, which shocked her.
“I’m fine…” She stuttered.
“Are you sure? Did they hurt you?” Kylie asked again.
“No,” she breathed out, touching her chest which was still beating violently.
She turned her eyes and a gasp escaped her lips when she saw two of the guys on the floor, unconscious already.
“What did…” She turned to him.
Kylie only shrugged before inserting his hands into his hoodie.
“I just had to teach them a lesson. And, don’t walk alone at night, it’s pretty dangerous,” he muttered and walked past her.
“Erm… Kylie?” Lauren called.
Kylie turned to her.
“Do you stay around here?” She asked.
“Yea… I guess we’ll be seeing each other pretty often,” he flashed a smile at her before finally walking away.
Lauren quickly rushed inside the house for the fear of the men waking up again.

MELANIE’S APARTMENT, 8PM***
Axel squinted his eyes, heaving a soft sigh. His head was against something soft, very soft and it felt comfortable for him.
He smiled before opening his eyes and the first thing that beheld his eyes was the face of his girlfriend, sleeping soundly.
He was still on her chest and her arms were around his neck. She looked extra beautiful as she slept and he shifted higher to stare at her face.
He leaned closer and placed a short kiss on her lips. Melanie moved a bit and licked her lips, he chuckled at that.
“Bae,” he called slowly.
“Hmm,” Melanie hummed sleepily.
“It’s night already,” his eyes went to the clock on the nightstand.
“Past eight,” he muttered.
Melanie’s eyes flew open instantly and she stood up, Axel falling to the bed in the process.
“8pm??” She yelled in fright.
She stood up from the bed and began pacing around the room, biting her lips nervously.
What’s her Mom going to say? And her Dad? Where would she tell them she was?
“Bae,” Axel called, getting down from the bed.
“Are you okay?” He asked.
“My Mom is gonna freak out, it’s late and I’m not back home yet. She’s gonna be mad,” Melanie said.
“I’m sure my phone is gonna be full of her calls,” she rushed to her phone which was lying peacefully on the bed.
She picked it and unlocked it immediately. To her surprise, her Mom hasn’t called her.
“Has she called?” Axel asked, moving to her.
“No, that’s weird,” Melanie whispered.
At that moment, a call came on her phone, it was from Paisley.
“Annie, take all the time you need, okay? This girl already covered up for you,” she could hear Paisley giggling.
“How?” Melanie asked, still not believing her.
“I told her you went back to your house, it’s already a week, isn’t it? Told her you’ll be coming for your luggages tomorrow,”
Hearing that, a sigh of relief left Melanie’s lips and a smile escaped her lips.
“Thanks, Pais. I love you,” she kissed the phone.
“Love ya more, see you!” Paisley ended the call.
“So, we’re safe?” Axel asked, gaining Melanie’s attention.
She smiled before facing him.
“We?” She raised a brow.
“Yea. You can’t face the trouble alone, can you?” He smirked.
“You look skinny, have you been eating at all?” Melanie asked, touching his body gently.
“Why would I eat when my heartbeat is not with me?” Axel pulled her to him.
“Aww, I’m sorry baby,” Melanie pouts cutely.
“Baby?” Axel stared down at her in disbelief.
“Did I say that? Maybe you heard it wrong,” she chuckled awkwardly before running out of the room.
“Bae,” Axel rushed after her and met her in the kitchen.
He hugged her from behind and she relaxed against him, sighing contentedly.
Telling him of her feelings actually made her love him the most.
“I love you, mine” Axel whispered, resting his head on the crook of her neck.

Paisley smiled after ending the call with Melanie, she dropped her phone on the bed and was about stripping herself when her phone rang.
She was surprised when she saw Ace calling. She didn’t want to pick it at first, but on second thought, she picked it.
“Why are you calling me?” She questioned.
“Paisley,” she could hear him sniffing.
She furrowed her brows in confusion.
“What happened? Where are you?” She rushed.
“Can you come please? I need you here,” Ace muttered.
“Just tell me where you are,” she snapped, going to wear her slippers.
“I’ll be there now, don’t you dare take a move,” she warned and ended the call immediately.
She rushed out of the house. Luckily for her, Melanie’s parents were not in sight.

Paisley arrived at the bar to find it silent. Her eyes searched around the building and it landed on a figure, resting his head on the table.
She rushed to him immediately.
“Ace!” She called, raising his head from the table.
Ace opened his eyes and stared at her, he smiled.
“You came,” he whispered.
Paisley faced the attendant who arrived at that time.
“Are you his girlfriend?” The attendant asked.
“Huh? Er, yea…” Paisley bit her lips.
“Finally. We’re about to close and he refuses to leave, I don’t just know what to do,” The attendant said.
“Sorry for the inconveniences,” Paisley apologized.
She held Ace by the arm and dragged him by the arm, she took him out of the bar.
She flagged a taxi down and they both entered.
“Where please?” The cab man asked.
“Monash university please. Male hostel” Paisley said.
“No, not that place” Ace slurred drunkenly.
“Take me to my house,” his head dropped on Paisley’s shoulder and she sighed before facing the driver.
“King’s estates please,” she muttered.
The car drove away immediately.

Paisley entered the room and switched on the light. She took Ace to the bed and they both fell on it at once.
“Gosh, so heavy,” she groaned, stretching her body.
She stared at him as he slept and her heart started beating fast. Here was the guy who she loved so much, the guy whom she betrayed her best friend for.
She shook the thoughts away and helped him in removing his shoes.
Her hands went to his chest and was about to unbutton it when Ace caught her hand.
He opened his eyes and threw her to the bed, he went on top immediately.
“What are you doing?” She struggled to free herself from him.
“I need this so much, please” Ace begged and slammed his lips on hers.
“Help me in forgetting my pains, Paisley,” he murmured against her lips.
Paisley stayed still for a while. And like someone being hypnotized, her hands found its way to his back, responding to his kiss.
