CHAPTER 16
They walked deeper into the woods quietly ” Did you know there’s something special about this forest ?” Kiara asked as she stood in the center of Antonio and Levi.
“Why did you say so ” Levi asked calmly ” Rumours has it that some usual things happen in the forest at night ” Kiara said in a teasing tone. “Like what ” Antonio asked as he rolled his eyes.
“Ghosts ” Kiara replied and Levi suddenly stood and looked at her ” I don’t think so, but I must admit it nice near ” Levi replied and Antonio nodded.
” I have been going Through the book and it says there’s another city after this forest “Kiara said as she jumped on Levi’s back.
” That’s rubbish, where’s this so called city, I haven’t heard of it before” Antonio said seriously ” well it says the gat only opens at midnight and it’s full of mysteries” Kiara pointed out.
Levi couldn’t help but laugh “mysteries huh, Kiara are you reading a bed time story or what ?” Levi asked and Kiara hit his head.
“To get to the city you have to follow a specific path and -” Kiara was cut short by Levi ” Did you drink anything because you’re talking like a drunkard”Levi asked and Kiara hissed.
” The city of full of gods and mysteries, my mom used to tell me on form of bed time stories, ” kiara added.
Antonio who had been quiet chuckled ” ohh really, I’m so scared Kiara ” Antonio taunt before Levi laughed ” don’t you think the forest looks different at night ?” Kiara asked
Levi stared at Antonio ” sometimes but I’m not falling for your silly stories ” Antonio said in amusement and Kiara frowned.
” The footprints are leading to the railroad” Levi said alert and Antonio looked around. The trees suddenly moved ” Guys I hope am not the only one seeing this ” Levi exclaimed and Kiara jumped off his back.
” I told you guys but you didn’t believe me” Kiara said proudly but when the trees started moving to their direction they exchanged looks ” Run !!”
The trees continued following them creating a heavy force that pushed them off the forest and they landed in the ocean ” Are you okay ?” Antonio asked as he picked Kiara up when she nodded he sighed in relief.
“Levi are you okay ?” Kiara asked and he nodded, they looked at the mountain that they feel from then looked at Kiara ” say it ” Kiara ordered.
They sighed ” We will listen to you next time madam ” they taunt and Kiara smiled ” look at the sea ” Kiara said as she ran towards the water.
“Can’t you see the danger we are in ?” Levi asked as Kiara wasn’t bothered at all ” she looks beautiful” Antonio added ” dude, wake up ” Levi said and Antonio snapped out of his Dreamland.
“The water is so cold ” Kiara said as Antonio and Levi stepped forward ” Can you hear that ?” Antonio asked suddenly and Levi nodded ” I can’t hear anything “Kiara replied.
Suddenly the mirror of the blue water began to stir, ripping with increasing thick waves, a foam that looked like snow appeared on the waved, a golden tail of a large fish emerged from the water, the water stirred as a tidal wave and a head, shoulders a s arms appeared of a girl with a beautiful face.
The girl looked around there was nobody or swimmers ” A mermaid woah “Kiara exclaimed in a low voice and the guys looked at each other before blincking ” I’m confused ” Levi said as he looked at Kiara.
Kiara ran towards the mermaid direction and tap her, she immediately turn around scared in surprise
* Huh *
Kiara immediately stepped back, It was like she was looking at her own reflection, Levi and Antonio cleaned their eyes immediately ” what the heck ?” Antonio yelled.
The mermaid touched her face and Kiara did the same thing before she ran and hide behind Levi ” I just saw my ghost,am I dead…. No I can’t die yet…. Levi tell me am dreaming and that not me ” Kiara yelled as she pulled Levi
The mermaid was still shocked as she re emerged after shaking off the water, she stepped forward ” How did you get my face ?” She asked in a trembling voice that was filled with sadness and anguish.
” I should be asking you that ” Kiara replied from behind Levi ” I don’t know that’s the reason am asking you ” she said .
Levi and Antonio who was still stunned didn’t say anything instead they kept looking at Kiara and the mermaid quietly.
Kiara walked towards the mermaid after taking a deep breath ” Are you my ghost? Tell me did I die? Who killed me ? How did I end up here ?” Kiara asked shaking the mermaid.
” I wanted to ask that, now stop shaking me ” she said ” We are dreaming right ?” Levi asked and Antonio nodded ” or maybe we are drunk, and seeing Kiara in two forms ” Antonio added.
” That’s a good theory ” Levi replied and Kiara kissed ” what are you doing here ? It’s not safe out here ” she asked and Kiara looked up ” we fell from there “. Kiara pointed at the mountain.
“Magical forest !!” She exclaimed and they exchanged looks ” Magical ?” They chorused ” Haven’t you heard of the city of gods known for its darkness ?” She asked and Kiara looked at the guys with a smirk, they looked dumbfounded.
“This isn’t possible right Levi ?” Antonio asked and Levi nodded ” I can’t believe Kiara is right ” Levi said and they sighed ” or it’s just a dream ” Antonio added.
” Who are you ?” She asked suddenly ” who am I ?” Kiara asked and the mermaid looked at her before touching the chain on Kiara’s neck ” where did you get this ?” She asked alert.
” Huh you mean this ancient chain? I got it from the trash dump ” Kiara replied as her eyes landed on the mermaids neck ” where did you get yours ?” Kiara asked.
” Since childhood” she replied as she turned around ” I found it here ” she added ” firstly how can we gat home ?” Levi asked.
” Just follow the path ” she replied and just like that she entered the water ” Seriously another path ?” Antonio groaned and they groaned.
” That’s strange ” Kiara said as her hands were still cold from touching the mermaid ” Hold on tight, I had enough ” Levi said and Antonio laughed ” Get us out of here before I see your look alike ” Antonio said and Levi frowned.
” You can never see another Levi, I’m the only one in existence ” Levi said proudly ” Wow am so shocked “Kiara taunt and they laughed.
Someone stood far from them watching their every move closely before the person disappeared at of thin air again but they didn’t notice.
