Valerie wiped his eyes gently, took in a deep breath, and stared at his reflection in the mirror. He sighed, noticing her makeup kit which he applied on his face to conceal his tears.
Sniffing one more time, he left the room. Blueberry watched him as he left the room and somehow he felt bad for him immediately.
βWhy does rejection hurt?β Blueberry wondered, then turned to Devyn, who also wore a solemn expression.
βIs she hurting too?β he pondered briefly before shaking his head. He made to enter his room when he noticed Cecilia, looking bewildered by the number of people in her house. He approached her.
βWelcome, Cecilia. Looks like you had fun,β He smiled, and she returned the gesture.
βWe should talk, okay? I want to ask why youβve been saying things that have been coming true. At first, I thought it was just a slip of the tongue, but itβs becoming too accurate to be mere luck,β she said, and he chuckled, gently holding her cheeks.
βIβll miss you when I go,β he replied, taking her hands as if she were his wife.
βAre you going somewhere?β she asked, puzzled. He only smiled and went to the center of the students to gather their attention.
βLadies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce Cecilia, my mom. Sheβs my first love,β he announced, and the students erupted in cheers. Cecilia blushed.
βHey, guys! I wasnβt expecting you, but make yourselves comfortable,β Cecilia addressed the students. Mu Yul waved at her, and she smiled and waved back.
Her eyes then landed on her daughter, who walked towards her and hugged her tightly, sniffling. Cecilia wondered what was wrong, as she looked up at blueberry.
Blueberry signaled to her not to ask Devyn anything for the time being, and she nodded.
βEnjoy your food. Iβll be in my room and will join you guys later,β Cecilia said, and the students nodded. She left the area and retreated to her room.
The rest of the day went by in a blur, and Nash didnβt bother to ask Valerie any questions. He had already noticed his friendβs tear-streaked face and wanted to spare him from further sadness. Maikel had also noticed but was persuaded by Nash not to approach Valerie. The boys simply kept their eyes on him until it was time to leave.
Devyn stared at Valerie for a moment, then called out to him.
βWeβll wait outside,β Maikel told him, and Valerie nodded slightly. He returned to Devyn, who smiled at him.
βWhy did you call me?β he asked, and she hugged him lightly.
βItβs something I wanted to do when I was a kid,β she said, and he blinked in confusion. He nodded gently, trying to speak, but no words came out.
βYou were a sweet kid, and we can still be friendsβ¦ at least,β she murmured, not knowing exactly what to say. He only stared at her before walking out of the house to meet his brother.
βIβll go home tonight,β he told them, and they exchanged glances. Sweetheart wanted to stop him, but Nash shook his head.
βHe needs it,β Nash replied.
βBut what happened to him? Was he rejected?β Ian asked, concerned.
βWho in their right mind would reject my Valerie?β Alistair said, staring sadly at Devynβs house. They all turned to face a direction when they heard a car zooming offβit was Valerieβs car. They didnβt say a word as they simply watched until it disappeared.
With only two cars available, the remaining six had to squeeze into one, already imagining the discomfort they would endure on the journey home. They resigned themselves to the situation, unable to call their manager for an extra car. With no other choice, they decided to endure the suffocation.

Mu Yul and Lesley bowed to Cecilia as they prepared to leave. Lesley hugged Devyn, who returned the embrace. They separated and waved at each other. Blueberry nodded at Mu Yul, and they departed.
Devyn sat at the dining table, and Blueberry joined her, followed by Cecilia, as they sat together like one big family.
βI guess your last wish will be about your voice, right?β Blueberry asked, and Devyn turned to face him.
βDid I ever talk about my second wish? And who are you to know if thatβs my third wish?β She asked with furrowed brows. Blueberry smiled.
βFirstly, you wished for your mom to live a good life, and secondly, on the day you discovered Kelvin was Valerie, you cried and wished for your beauty, which you received. I even helped you by teaching that girl a lesson,β he said, and she scoffed.
βAre you some kind of Superman with superpowers? Do you really expect me to believe that?β She replied skeptically.
βWho are you?β Cecilia interjected, curious. Blueberry smiled.
βI was planning to tell you about it on your birthday because Iβm sure that after this upcoming audition, I wonβt be here anymore,β he said.
βYouβre going somewhere?β Devyn asked, but he ignored her and narrated his mission to Cecilia. Devyn could only blink in disbelief.
βYour ex-husband will be here in the morning. If you still love him, you can consider forgiving him, although Iβm not suggesting that you should accept him because I want to marry you,β he teased, but Cecilia didnβt even crack a smile.
βMust you leave?β she asked instead.
βIβm not human, I donβt belong hereβ he replied. All the while, Devyn could only stare in disbelief.
βYou should get some rest. Tomorrow will be fun at the office. Until I fulfill my mission, I wonβt leave,β He stood up and started to leave.
βAre these lies all you have to tell me tonight?β Devyn asked, and he stopped in his tracks, slowly turning to face her.
βI donβt need you to believe me anyway. Good night,β he said and finally went into his room. Cecilia turned to her daughter and explained what had happened at her place of work, telling her that Blueberry might be 70% right and expressing her reluctance to see him go.
βHeβll listen to you then. Iβll go to my room. Good night,β Devyn said, K!SSing her momβs cheek before heading to her own room. She stopped at the door and looked at her mom.
βI rejected Kelvin today, and I donβt feel good about it. He cried, and the last time I saw him cry was 13 years ago. It really broke my heart,β she said, and her mom sighed. Before Cecilia could respond, her daughter entered her room, leaving Cecilia speechless as Blueberryβs words lingered in her mind.
βMust you leave?β she murmured sadly.
βHenry shouldnβt show his ugly face here if he values his balls,β Cecilia muttered, her mind shifting to her husband. She stood up and also made her way to her room.
******
βWhy did you follow me?β Lesley faced Mu Yul.
βI think you want to tell me something. Your face is saying so,β he replied.
βFirstly, I want to thank you for letting me go. And againβ¦β she paused, while Mu Yul raised an eyebrow, urging her to keep talking.
βThe evil man is back. He doesnβt seem powerful enough, and I canβt handle him because Iβm just a spirit. But he isnβt strong. Iβm telling you this so that you and Berry can get rid of him before he takes another soul,β she told him, and he nodded.
βIβll leave on my own accord. Let me just sing, okay? Lesley is also a good singer, so sheβll just fill up my space and stay with Devyn,β Lesley said, and Mu Yul didnβt say a word.
βIβll go now,β he said and disappeared. Lesley sighed and started to enter the house when a voice spoke in her head.
βWhen will you tell me about you? About your friends and the school, βcause I donβt know anyone there,β the voice said.
βIβll tell you everything the day Iβll be explaining it to Devyn. And please, you should stay by her side. Sheβs such a cool soul. No more questions, I need to sleep,β She said and lay down on her bed.
βI wish I could stay forever,β she muttered sadly, a single tear rolling down her cheek.

NEXT DAY
Valerie walked over to his momβs room. His brother Josh had already gone to school. He had cried all through the night and wasnβt sure if he would go to school today.
His mom wasnβt in her room. He wanted to ask her if first love really doesnβt last. When he didnβt see her, he turned to leave, but his eyes caught something under her bed. He picked it upβit was a picture of his mom with a man next to her. His eyes widened at the sight.
His mom emerged from the bathroom minutes later, and Valerie walked up to her and showed her the picture.
βWhere did you see this?β he asked, and his mom took it from him.
βStop touching my things,β she snapped.
βIsnβt that Devynβs dad? Wait a minute, donβt tell me you had an affair with him?β he asked, and his mom slapped him across the face. He cackled annoying.
βThirteen years ago, why did you ask me if I was going to play with Devyn? Why?β he asked again, and his mom ruffled her hair.
βWhat do you think youβre doing?β she asked.
βThe incident, you caused it, didnβt you? The kidnapping, it was all planned, right? βCause I wasnβt beaten or abused in any form. They got me food daily even when I rejected the food. I ran away, and no one bothered to run after me. My escape was so simple,β he said again.
βSon, what are you spewing out?β
βI hope my assumption isnβt right,β he said as his eyes began scanning his momβs room.
βWhat are you doing?β she shouted.
βLooking for more evidence,β he said and turned towards his momβs cupboard, but she stood in front of him.
βLeave my room,β she ordered sternly, and he smiled through tears.
βI h@tΓ« you, and donβt worry, Iβm going to get you arrested myself. I wonβt care about the scandals βcause after Iβm done with that, Iβll quit music,β he said, tears streaming down his face, and left the room. His mom sighed as she stared at the picture in her hands.
******
Cecilia was getting ready for work when the doorbell rang. She went to answer it, only to find her ex-husband standing there on one knee, just as Blueberry had told her. Cecilia remained expressionless as she stared at him.
βI wonβt ask how you came across this house, but are you that stupid to come here, Henry? You should please leave before you contaminate my daughter. And for your information, you werenβt the only one who cheated. I also cheated on you and had a son, so you should please leave,β She said, and Blueberry appeared.
βGood morning, Mom,β He smiled, and Cecilia caressed his cheeks . Devyn also came out, dressed in her school uniform, her face glowing with cuteness.
βHey, Dad,β she waved, surprising Cecilia. How could she call him Dad?
βI heard you were coming, and for the past 13 years, I didnβt call anyone Dad. But I gathered the courage to call you that because itβs going to be the last time Iβll be calling you that,β Devyn said, bowing in front of her dad. In tears, she walked past them, heading her way to school.
βYou should go after her,β Cecilia told Blueberry, and he nodded. He smiled at her, then bowed at Mr. Han before walking out of the place as well.
Cecilia made her way back into the house, grabbed her handbag, and walked out without even looking back at Henry.
β Lia! β he kept calling in tears, but she never turned back to look at him until she was out of sight.
β
DAENG COMMERCIALS.
Cecilia arrived at her office and tried not to look bothered, as she had already told herself she would never forgive her husband or have anything to do with another man. She was determined to stay true to her words, so she had no feelings, not even for Jayden, her boss.
She took a deep breath and entered her office, only to find Jayden sitting in her seat.
βGood morning, sir,β she greeted, and he chuckled.
He stood up and walked towards her, causing her to step back, so he stopped. He pulled out an envelope and asked her to sign it, while she raised an eyebrow in confusion.
βWhy would I sign something without even seeing its contents?β she asked, her brow furrowed.
βDo you think I want to sell you out?β he asked, a hint of amusement in his voice.
βWhy should I trust you about it? Men are allβ¦β She paused, realizing she didnβt want to complete her statement since she was still in front of her boss.
βOkay, fine. As your boss, can you do me the favor of signing this?β he asked, and she contemplated for a while before opening her bag. She retrieved a pen and took the unsealed envelope, heaving a sigh.
βWho knows if Iβm signing my death will?β she muttered and signed it. She stretched her hand to give it back, but he didnβt take it.
βItβs yours,β he smiled, leaving her with a confused expression. Jayden walked out of the office, and Cecilia kept her bag before carefully opening the envelope.
βHOPE YOU LOVED IT. THIS IS WHAT I THINK I COULD DO AS A FRIEND,β she read the message first before scanning through the docvments. Her eyes widened.
βJaydenβ¦β she called, barely able to believe what she was seeing. It was a paper giving her ownership of one of his companies.
βIs he drunk?β she wondered, dashing out of her office. She bumped into Cherry.
βYou shouldnβt bother because I was the one he assigned to get you this,β Cherry said, and Cecilia blinked in confusion.
βI really h@tΓ« you, Cecilia,β Cherry whispered angrily and left her sight.
βWhatβs happening?β Cecilia wondered as she stared at the docvment. How was it possible for a company to suddenly be hers out of the blue? She pondered the thought, and her phone vibrated.
She saw two messages from two different people:
βHOPE YOU LIKED MY SECOND GIFT, MAβAMβ β Jayden
βCONGRATS, GIRLFRIENDβ β Blueberry.
Cecilia felt a mix of confusion, surprise, and uncertain emotions. She wasnβt expecting any of this.
******
In class, the students were all happy to meet each other. Mu Yul sat next to Blueberry and explained everything that Lesley had told him. Blueberry didnβt even act surprised.
βI noticed his presence since the night we went to the amusement park, but he was lucky he left,β Blueberry muttered.
βThen how do we kill him?β Mu Yul asked.
βIβll ask about it tonight,β Blueberry said and faced Mu Yul again.
βWhat?β
βI told her I liked her.β
βWβ¦what? You did?β
βI couldnβt grant her wish last night. Though I told her about myself, she didnβt believe me, but a part of her did. So she went into her room and made a wish. I tried fulfilling it, but I couldnβt,β he said.
βMaybeβ¦ she didnβt say it genuinely, thatβs why,β Mu Yul replied, then stopped again.
βBut her future self said sheβll regain her voice, so I think when she desires it with a broken heart, it will be granted?β Mu Yul added, not sure and Blueberry sighed.
He looked at Devyn, who didnβt seem too bothered about her dadβs presence. He turned his face away from her direction.
βLetβs get rid of that man quickly,β Mu Yul said, and he nodded.
β
SUNSHINEβS RESIDENCE
βSo today, letβs go talk to BEAUTIES, okay? Letβs be friends since we have just three days until our departure,β Emerald said, and the girls nodded.
They all got into their car and drove off to school.
β
The boys were all worried when they didnβt see Valerieβs call or his message. They didnβt even know what had happened to him.
βIt must hurt a lotβ¦ gosh, thatβs why I fear love,β Rema sighed.
βShould we go check on him? Iβm bothered,β Sweetheart asked worriedly as he faced Nash and Maikel.
βWe should wait for him instead,β Nash said and turned to Maikel.
βItβs not your fault, okay? I know you like her. I know how you let go because you wanted to keep MARVINS. I like that. Youβre just the perfect leader anyone can ask for. Iβm proud of you, baby,β Nash winked.
βMust you always spoil the mood at the end? Itβs time you got yourself a girl,β Maikel said.
βWonβt you get jealous?β Nash asked playfully while Maikel shook his head.
β
Harriet looked at the girls while Elvire kept sighing. Even though she didnβt like the attitude of her twin and Zora, she didnβt wish for them to be kicked out. Elvira had left the hospital since yesterday, and she was looking strong now.
βIs something wrong?β Zora asked, and Harriet sighed. She entered the car, followed by Elvire. Zora and Elvira exchanged glances before entering the car too. Elvira took off to school at once.
The girls arrived at school, and the students were happy to see they were all there. Emerald had been waiting for them.
She walked over to Harriet and smiled at her. Zora and Elvira exchanged confused glances at the sudden attitude.
βDid you get lost? Confused or drunk?β Elvira asked, but Emerald didnβt look their way as she focused on Harriet.
βI want us to be cool. We have just a few days before our departure. It will begin on Thursday and end on Friday, and on Saturday and Monday, we wonβt see each other. So, I was thinking we make up,β Emerald suggested.
βHmmβ¦ letβs do that,β Harriet said, and Emerald smiled.
βLetβs grab lunch during break time,β Emerald said, and Harriet nodded slowly. Emerald then faced the others, smiled at them, and walked away from BEAUTIES.
βWas that necessary?β Elvira asked, and Harriet faced her.
β Yes, and that is because you and Zora have been out of the band since the day you entered a coma,β Harriet told her, and Elvira frowned.
βHuh?β
βYou can ask your twin,β Harriet muttered and started walking away.
βSheβs joking, right?β Elvira faced Zora, who also went speechless.
β¦.Tβ¦Bβ¦Cβ¦.
