₰ The Truth ₰
The consistent ringing of the phone woke Rico up.
Groaning out, he took hold of his phone on the counter and stared at the caller.
“Why is she calling?” He whispered.
Choosing not to pick the call, he switch off his phone and was about to continue with his sleep when he saw Laura sleeping soundly beside him.
He had totally forgot that he was in her room and while watching over her, he had slept off.
She should be awake by now, it’s been two hours since they brought her back…he thought.
Resting his arm on the pillow, he stared down at her sleeping face and he wouldn’t deny that she look innocent and cute.
Not being able to resist the urge, he caress her cheek, his gaze drifting to her lips and at that moment, Laura open her eyes.
He didn’t know what to say since he’s been caught so instead, he quickly sat up.
“What happened?” Laura asked and immediately he brief her about the event that took place last night.
“How’s Ciara?”
“She’s fine and am sure, she will be here to see you soon” he replied.
“If I may ask, why were you sleeping on my bed?” Laura asked.
“Well I…er… I offered to take care of you and I must have got into the bed when I was tired. Am sorry” he apologise as he got off the bed.
“I should be the one thanking you since you chose to help me”
“You don’t have to thank me since you will be returning the favour, you said it yourself” He said making her recall her promise of helping him.
“Oh…what do you want me to do?” She asked and slowly he shook his head.
“I don’t need anything from you for now but when I do need it, I will let you know. Get some more rest” Rico said before leaving the room.
“How can he take my word for it? Didn’t he know that I was desperate when I asked him for such favour… He’s such a jerk!” She let out angrily.
A while later, Laura joined Ciara who had come to check up on her.
“Stop fussing already. Am okay” Laura assured her for the umpteenth time.
“So what are you going to do about that witch? She will still keep plotting against you and Reagan” Laura said referring to Elvira as the witch.
“And that’s why I plan on exposing her before she do more harm on us. I plan to get the truth from her myself” Ciara stated.
“How do you intend to that?” Laura asked.
“It’s just an idea but I think it will work,let me explain….”

< Horse Stable >
Ciara stood starring at Reagan horse.
She was the only one with the horse that day and when she had drop the syringe there was no sight of anyone there.
The last person she saw that day was Willow and he wouldn’t be capable of doing such a thing.
She was about to leave when a man walk in.
“What brings you here my lady?” The man asked and somehow Ciara knew he was nervous.
Why should he be nervous at seeing her here…she thought as something pop into her mind at that moment.
“You are the boss when it comes to this kind of thing, can you tell me if you notice some thing odd recently?” Ciara asked.
“I didn’t and I haven’t been around for a week, I just arrived yesterday” the man replied.
“Oh…okay then and before I forget. I noticed that day that the horse hadn’t been tied properly and that the door was opened, what if some thieves had …”
“That’s impossible, I always make sure his Majesty horse is properly tied and the doors are always closed”
“Really? How are you so sure of that when you haven’t been around?” Ciara asked and once again, he gave her that nervous look.
“The man in charge during the week I was absent follows the rule and he made sure of that” he replied.
“Then he might be able to tell me more on….”
“I really think you should leave my lady. This place isn’t meant for you and I doubt if he will be able to tell you about the syringe and….”
“Syringe? I never said a thing about the syringe, how come you know that?” Ciara cut him off.
“Well…I heard the others talking about it” he replied.
“Or perhaps you turn out to be the person who injected the horse!” Ciara accuse. She notice the guilty look on him before he could mask it.
“I won’t let you accuse me for something I didn’t do”
“Don’t worry. I don’t need to accuse you since I have the proof here” she said showing him her phone which has been recording their conversation.
“So long” she added as she left the stable and as soon as she left, the man called Elvira to give her the news.

Ciara was starring out through the window in her room when the door open to reveal Elvira.
“I was expecting you. Seems like your lackey has told you about it” Ciara said as she turn to her.
“What exactly do you know?”
“Everything. Thanks to him I got to have the proof I needed” Ciara said showing her her phone.
“And what will you do with that?” Elvira asked.
“I most definitely will play it to the queen and Reagan” with that said, she made to walk past her but Elvira took the phone from her and quickly threw it out of the window.
“Are you crazy!” Ciara yelled in shock.
“I am crazy. Do you think I will let you ruin everything have been planning, never!”
“So it was you who injected the horse, right?” Ciara asked.
“Of course! I knew you were going to back out like the god d@mn sissy you are and so I hid in the stable waiting for you to do it and since you couldn’t, I finish it off for you” Elvira replied.
“You really are a witch! How could you try to harm your brother who is the king!”
“A brother I detest, a brother whom have been wishing to be dead for a long time and since death wouldn’t take him away, it’s only right that I bring death on him” Elvira said coldly.
“You won’t succeed cause am going to stop you”
“And how do you intend to do that. Your only evidence is gone” Elvira said laughing out like a maniac.
“You really think so ?” On hearing Ciara question, Elvira smile disappeared and she watch how Ciara went towards a sofa, pushing the pillow aside, she pulled out another phone.
“What the hell!” Elvira cussed out.
“Do you think I will be so foolish as to let you get rid of my only evidence?” Ciara asked.
“But…”
“It was a bait. I decieved that lackey of yours making him think that I had recorded what he said. I knew he was going to tell you and you would run over to me like the scared cat you are and so, I prepared the real recording and it has all what you said in it” Ciara said dangling the phone in her hand.
“You stupid…”
“A warning! I let you take away the first phone but I won’t let you achieve it this time around, even if I have to hit you” Ciara warned and that got Elvira standing her ground.
“See you later then” She added before leaving the terrified Elvira alone.

Ciara took to her heels, heading to Reagan’s office since she knew he would be there.
She was breathing heavily when she finally got to the door.
She was about to knock only for her to notice that the door was a bit open.
Her hand was on the door knob when she heard their disscusion.
“We won’t support you marrying a woman who tried to killed you. So it’s best that you end the engagement and let her leave” she heard a man say.
“If I do let her leave, do you have someone In mind for me to marry?” Reagan asked.
“The senator daughter, Miss Velvet. The council and I believe that she will make a perfect queen ”
“So you want me to leave my current fiancee for the senator daughter?” Reagan asked and Ciara who stood by the door way held her breath while waiting to hear his reply.
“Fine then, I will end my engagement with the girl I chose and go for the senator daughter ” Reagan replied making Ciara’s heart sink in pain.
