Chapter 3
Immediately after Kiara woke up,she came out to of her room so as to begin cleaning like she always did every morning before leaving for the super market but she noticed everywhere was clean.
She checked out all the rooms and saw they were all clean except for hers and when she came to the dinning room,she met Natasha seated on a chair, working on her laptop.
“Good morning Natasha”She greeted.
“You’re awake”Natasha said with a bright smile “Trust you had a good night. Come over here,I made breakfast already and it’s your favorite”
Kiara walked with an arched brow to the dining table.
She opened the covered the dish on the table and met her favorite dish in it just like Natasha said.
She stared,looking surprised.
“Don’t stand there looking like that. Have a seat and eat up before it gets cold”
“Um…”She cleared her throat “Sure,thanks Natasha”
Natasha responded with a smile.
Kiara was surprised but happy at the same time.
It’s been a while since Natasha cooked for her.
“I know you’re probably wondering why I woke up early, prepared breakfast and even cleaned the whole house”Natasha said “I know how hard you’ve been working lately and I thought it would be nice to help a little plus you’re about to take on something that’ll require most of your time so,you need all the help you can get”She said again.
Kiara looked at her.
“You didn’t forget the conversation we had last night,right?”
“No,of course not”She shook her head “Um… Actually,I thought about it a lot and…what other plan could be better than taking legal action against the man who denied my dad of his money?”
Natasha placed her hand on her forehead and sighed.
“What’s wrong?”
“What step did you think your father took in trying to get his money from the man?”
“I…”
“Your father also tried taking legal action against him but it didn’t work. This man we’re talking about is a very influential man and no matter how many times you take legal actions against him, he’ll end up winning” Natasha said “I also tried taking legal actions against him after your father’s death but it didn’t work”
“Oh”Kiara muttered “So, what do you propose we do then?’
“The only possible step to take is for you to get close to him so you can earn his trust”
“And how am I going to do that?”
“You’ll have to work for him”
“What type of job would make me close to him enough to earn his trust?”
“Being his personal assistant is the perfect job that can get you really close to him”Natasha said.
“Okay but um… doesn’t he have a personal assistant already?Like…How sure are you that he doesn’t have a personal assistant already?”
“He does but I’ll find a way to make you his personal assistant”Natasha said “Maybe offer his present personal assistant money or something so she would leave the job for you”
Kiara stared at Natasha for a while.
“One more question”She said.
“Go on”Natasha said, trying her best to hide the fact that she was getting pissed by Kiara’s non ending questions.
“It’s nothing”Kiara faked a smile and looked down at the food in front of her when she noticed Natasha was getting angry at her questions.
“No,no,go on. Ask your question”Natasha urged, forcing a smile on her face.
“I was thinking that…What if the man finds out I’m trying to take back the shares that belongs to my dad?”
“He’s not going to find out”
“But what if he finds out and he tries to take legal actions against me?”
“He’s not going to find out as long as you don’t do anything to make him suspicious”
“I know but I’m just…”
“Oh Kiara”Natasha placed her hand on her forehead and rested her elbow on the table “You know, I’m beginning to feel like a really terrible person”She said “All I wanted was to help you get back your father’s money. You know I wouldn’t tell you to do something that’ll end up hurting you or…”Natasha looked up at Kiara “You don’t trust me?”
“Of course I do”
“Then what’s stopping you from believing me when I tell you that things will turn out well?”
“I…I’m sorry”
“Don’t be,I know you’re just trying to look out for yourself since you don’t think I would do a good job in looking out for you”
“I didn’t mean that. Of course you look out for me,you always have”Kiara tried to assure Natasha so she wouldn’t get the wrong idea. She didn’t want Natasha thinking of her that way. “I was just… Nevermind, let’s just continue our conversation”
Natasha smiled.
“So…”Natasha said, turning on her phone “This is the man you’ll be taking your father’s riches from” She said, showing Kiara the picture on her phone.
“He’s…young”Kiara muttered staring at the picture.
“Yes, that’s the man’s son”
“His son? But he doesn’t know anything about it”
“So?”
“I don’t think it’s right for me to make him pay for something his father did”Kiara shook her head.
Natasha sighed.
“I feel so terrible,I shouldn’t have told you about it in the first place. I should have known I was trying to make you do something wrong”
“Natasha,no I…”
“I just thought that by doing this,your father will be happy wherever he is”Natasha said “It’s okay,I understand if you don’t want to get back your father’s money”She said sadly.
Kiara sighed as she stared at Natasha.
She felt bad for making Natasha feel that way.
She loved Natasha a lot and would do anything to make her happy.
“I’m sorry I made you feel that way Natasha”She said “And if taking back my father’s riches would make you happy, I’ll do it”She nodded with a smile.
“Oh no,I feel selfish hearing you say it that way. I’m not doing this for my own gain. I’m doing this for us. You,me and your father – My husband”Natasha said, touching her chest.
“Of course. You want what’s best for us”Kiara smiled. “So,um…what happens next after I gain his trust,how do I get back my father’s money”
“One step at a time. Earn his trust first and then I’ll let you know the next step”Natasha smiled.
“Okay”Kiara nodded.
“Right now,I want you to eat your food and then get yourself ready for your new job. You’re starting tomorrow and you don’t have to go to the supermarket today”
“There’s no need for that,I can get myself prepared for the new job after I get back from the supermarket”
“I insist. Stay at home.The girls will take care of the supermarket”
Kiara sighed.
She won’t be seeing Daphne.
Natasha left the dinning room and went to her room.
She locked the door before dialing Thomas’s number.
“Everything is going smoothly Thomas,I already told Kiara of the plan”She said after Thomas picked up the call.
“Good”Thomas said”I already have Erik’s assistant here with me. What do you propose we do with her?”
“Eliminate her”She heartlessly.
She could hear muffled screaming at the other end obviously Erik Zander’s personal assistant’s futile attempt to call for help, trying to avert the doom that was about to befall her but Natasha didn’t give a single care as long as she got what she wanted.
She hung up the call and an evil grin crossed her face as she remembered her and Kiara’s conversation at the dinning room.
“I knew she wouldn’t say no to me”
