Leah went back home that day to fetch her
belongings. When she got home
She met her father and her stepmother in the
seating room.
Where are you coming from? Colliford asked
Colliford is her father, Elizabeth stared at Leah
Before Leah could talk, Elizabeth had voice
out .
She must be coming from a guy’s house,
“Elizabeth said.
That is not true. I went out to work. Why are you
lying? Leah asked
Colliford stood up in anger and landed a slap on
Leah’s right cheek.
Are you saying my wife is lying? The woman
who brought you up like her own—is this how
you want to repay her? Colliford shouted
Did you slap me because of her? Did you trust
her more than your daughter? Leah asked with
tears.
Elizabeth stood up from her seat, faking tears.
It’s okay, honey, don’t shout at her; I’m the one
at fault; I fail to raise well, “Elizabeth said.

Colliford said, which got Leah angry.

clothes and another that contained some of her
mother’s things.

walking towards the door.

tears falling down her cheeks.
She took a cab to Collin’s Mansion.
When she got to the mansion, it was already
late, and the family was already having dinner.
She met everyone at the dining room, Including
Mr. and Mrs. Collins.
She greeted them and made her way to the
stairs when Mr. Collins asked them to join them
for dinner.
She wanted to decline, but when she saw the
happiness on his face, she dropped her bags
behind and moved closer to them.
Mrs. Collins asked Mura to take her belongings
to her room.
Leah took her seat beside Aiden . The three
boys stopped eating their food.
What happened? Mrs. Collins asked
Make her leave or we leave this dining room,
“Anderson said.
No one is leaving, Mr. Collins said.
The three of them stood up, ready to take their
leave, but Leah stopped them.
Don’t leave because of me; I will leave. I’m not
really hungry, and three should not leave
because of one, “Leah said.

down.

are free to do so,” Mr. Collins said.
Aiden stood up with his brothers and walked
away from the dining room.
Leah felt a little sad. She stared at the food in

Leah smiled at him and dug in. Mr. Collins and
Mrs. Collins stood up when they finished eating.
Leaving Leah alone in the dining room,she
released the tears she had been holding when
she saw that there was no one around.
Caden came downstairs to get water when he
saw Aurora crying and holding on to a picture.
He hid himself, looking at her from where he
stood.
Is She crying because we left the dining room?
He thought before going to get the water he
came for.
Leah stood up and went straight to her room.
She is such a loser, “Caden said.

She took her belongings towards the closet.
How do I open this? She thought was at the
closet.
She pressed the button on the closet, and it
opened.
She closed her eyes due to the light that
penetrated through the closet.
What is that? She said and opened her eyes
back.
OMG! That was the only thing that came out of
her mouth when she saw the different clothes
that had been arranged there, including the
school uniform.
Are these mine? When did all these get there?
She said
If I have checked this before, I won’t have to go
there to take my clothes.
I can’t believe they are mine.” She said touching
them one by one.
It’s good to be rich, she said, dropping the two
boxes she brought with her inside the closet.
She closed it when she heard a knock at the
door.
Come in! It was not locked, she said.
Mrs. Collins walked in with an ID card in her
hand.
You must be tired. I came here to give you this
since you are resuming tomorrow, Mrs. Collins
said, showing the ID to her.
So soon,”Leah said.
Do you have any problem with that? Mrs.
Collins asked
No! Not at all.
Are the clothes in the closet Mine ? Leah asked
Yes ! I asked them to deliver it when you went
out, Mrs. Collins said.
Oh! Leah mumbled
Don’t you like them? Mrs. Collins asked

expensive.” Leah said
