Kayla’s footsteps could loudly be heard as she ran on the hallway of the hospital. The news about Jane’s company exploding was spreading like wildfire in the whole of Los Angeles, and to other countries. Every news stations in LA were talking about the explosion of Jane’s company. Kayla was still in school when she heard the news, and she ran out of school just to see her mom. She had called Lucas and Lucas told her that Jane was in the hospital. Jane actually fainted after her company exploded in her presence.
“Mom!” Kayla said, entering the hospital ward, and she sees her mom lying on the bed, with Lucas by her side.
“Kayla” Jane said with a crying voice. She was extremely hurts by what happened to her company. She recalled the efforts and hard works she put in, before starlight fashion industry came into existence, and now it’s no more.
Kayla rushed to her mom, crying. “I thought something bad happened to you, Mom. I was so scared that you were affected by the explosion. I was scared of losing you, mom” Kayla said crying. She was hugging her mom.
“Everything I worked so hard for it’s all gone Kayla. It’s all gone” Jane said crying, and Kayla broke the hug, cleaning Jane’s tears.
“What matters more is that you’re okay. It’s all that matters now, mom. Do you know how scared I was? I thought your beautiful face will be no more. It’s just a company mom, and as long as you’re alive, there’s still hope for you to get it back” Kayla said.
“Kayla!” Jane called out her name crying, and Kayla hugged her again.
“Everything is going to be fine, Mom. You just have to be strong” She said, hugging her mom and Jane increased the volume of her cry.
Lucas stood there feeling sorry for Jane, because he knows how Jane worked so hard to build her own company, and it got him thinking on how the company exploded all of a sudden.

≤ ADRIAN’S MANSION ≈ SAME DAY ≥
Rebecca and Stephanie had a smile on their faces as they listen to the newscaster on TV.
NEWSCASTER; At 2:pm this afternoon, a terrible accident befall Jane Meyers, who is popularly know as the best fashion designer here in Los Angeles. Her company, which brought her the popularity she has now was involved in an explosion this afternoon. Fortunately, no one was hurt from the explosion, but the cops are investigating on how the explosion started, because it’s seems like the fire was planned. However….
The newscaster was cut short, because Debra turned it off. Rebecca clapped her hands and began praising Stephanie.
“Nice job, Stephanie. Jane is slowly facing her doom thanks to you” She said, and Stephanie smirked.
“This calls for a celebration, Debra” Rebecca said.
“Celebration? Aren’t you scared?” She asked.
“Scared about what?” Rebecca asked.
“The cops wants to investigate about what happened to Jane’s company. Even I didn’t sign up for this, I am still involved in this because I knew what you both had installed for Jane. What if we get caught by the police? This is why we shouldn’t have gone far, Mom. We should have just sabotage her company!” Debra said getting scared.
“Relax Debra, Jane is never going to find out what we did to her, because Stephanie left no trace that we did it. You should be happy that your rival is in pain. Exploding Jane’s company was the right thing to do” Rebecca said.
“You all were responsible for what happened to Kayla’s mom?” Isa asked, as balls of tears falls down from her eyes. After Kayla left school, she also left school too, in order to ask her mom and grandma if they had something to do with what happened to Jane, only for her to hear about the truth from the horse’s mouth.
“Answer me, Mom, did you and grandma have something to do with what happened to Kayla’s mom?” She asked again, sniffling.
“Leave us let’s talk Stephanie” Rebecca said.
“Alright” Stephanie said and left the house. Isa looked at Stephanie till she was out of sight and faced her mom and grandma.
“Tell me you have nothing to do with what happened to Kayla’s mom, and I will believe you”
“There’s no need beating around the bush, Isa. Yes, Jane’s company exploding was all our doing” Rebecca said, and Isa gasped as more tears falls down from her eyes.
“So this was the plan you had installed for Kayla’s mom. I thought it was something small, and that’s why I didn’t say a word to Kayla. If I had knew this was all your plans from the beginning, I’d have told Kayla about it. Aunt Jane needs to know about this” Isa said, trying to leave, but Debra held her hand.
“Don’t do this, Isa”
“And why shouldn’t I, Mom? A lot of people would have died just because of your hatred for aunt Jane. She needs to know about this”
“If you tell Jane, we might go to jail. This wasn’t what I wanted, I never wanted Jane’s company to be involved in an explosion, but now that it has happened, you shouldn’t tell Jane, if you do, we might go to jail for it. You already know how strict Los Angeles’s laws are right?” Debra said, sniffling.
“Then you should have thought about that before doing that to Kayla’s mom. Kayla is not just my friend, but my sister too, and I feel so guilty of not telling her about what you and grandma had installed for her mom!” Isa shouted, crying.
“You want to go to Jane that badly? Then go ahead Isa, because if Jane finds out that the truth, we won’t be the only ones going to jail. You will be sent to Juvenile detention” Rebecca said.
“Why will I go to a prison met for kids? I wasn’t the one who explode aunt Jane’s company!” Isa said, fidgeting.
“Because you knew about our plans and yet you didn’t say a word to both Kayla and her mom. You allowed everything to happened without telling Kayla” Rebecca said.
“I didn’t know you both were going to destroy Jane’s company. You shouldn’t get me involved in this, I don’t know anything about this!” Isa said, crying.
“Of course you do, Isa. You knew about our plans and kept quiet. If I and your mom go to jail, you’d be going with us. So if you want to continue seeing Kayla and be friends with her, I advise you that you’d shut your mouth. Else you’d lose Kayla’s friendship, and you will end up in juvenile detention” Rebecca said.
Isa clenched her fists before running upstairs to her room.
“You shouldn’t have threaten Isa that way. She’s a child” Debra said.
“It’s better if we threaten her so she’d keep her mouth shut. We have to destroy Jane completely” Rebecca said.
“May I asked why you’re doing this?”
“What do you mean” Rebecca asked in return, looking at Debra.
“Why do you h@të Jane so much? I get it that you want me for Adrian, but why are you hurting her this way? You have always wanted to hurt Jane with every given chance you get, may I ask why?”
“Because she shouldn’t have exited in the first place” Rebecca said and Debra looked at her.

≤ JANE’S MANSION ≈ NIGHT ≥
“What! You found some bomb particles in my company” Jane asked both Grace and Craig as tears falls down from her eyes.
“Yes we did, Jane” Grace answered.
“What does this mean?” Lucas asked. Kayla wasn’t with them, because Jane had told her to go to bed.
“From our investigation, it only means one thing. Jane’s company didn’t just explode on its own. The culprit inserted bombs inside your company, just so he or she can have it exploded” Craig said.
“But who could have done this to Jane” Lucas asked, again
“Since no one can enter Jane’s company without a verified company card, I think someone who works in Jane’s company must have done it” Grace said.
“You think the culprit might be one of my employees?” Jane asked.
“Yes. Everyone in your company has a verified company card that gives them free passing inside your company, right?” Grace asked, and Jane nodded her head.
“Yes, no one can enter my company except he or she has a company card or someone that has a company card allow them inside” Jane said.
“Do you have the list of all your employees?” Craig asked.
“Yes I do” Jane replied.
“We be needing it Jane, so we can investigate them one after the other. We will get back to you, once we find anyone suspicious” Grace said.
“Thank you so much, Grace” Jane said, and Grace smiled at her.

Jane stood near the pool, thinking on who might have done such a thing to her, when Lucas wrapped a huge jacket around her.
“You should get some sleep, Jane. It’s cold outside” Lucas said, and Jane looked at him.
“I can’t sleep, Lucas. I’m still lost in thought of who might have done this to me”
“Don’t stress yourself over this Jane. Grace and her colleague said they were going to look into it”
“I know, but I still can’t get my head off from this case, Lucas. I need to know who this culprit is, so he or she can tell me why she has to hurt me this way”
Lucas cleaned her tears and hugged her. “Don’t worry, Jane, Grace is an expert when it comes to catching criminals. Have you heard from Stephanie?” He asked, and Jane broke the hug.
“Stephanie? Why?”
“Well I…. ”
Lucas was caught short by some noise at the gate. Lucas and Jane went there and sees Adrian arguing with the security man.
“It’s already late, and sir Lucas told me not to allow anyone in, so that Ma Jane can rest”
“I just want to see how Jane is doing. I saw what happened to her company, I just want to see her, let me through!” Adrian said. The gate was a transparent gate, so both Jane and Lucas could see him from where they were standing.
“Let him in” Jane said.
“Jane” Adrian muttered, and he quickly rushed inside the compound after the security man opened the gate for him.
“Jane” Adrian said, trying to hug her, but Lucas block him for doing so.
“Wh@tëver you came here to say, say it without going close to Jane. You aren’t allowed to go close to her” Lucas said.
Adrian sighed after he remembered what Lucas told him that he was never going to allow him go close to Jane again. He’d have acted stubborn, but he knew this wasn’t what Jane needed right now.
“Jane are you alright?” He asked in a worried tone.
“Yes I am fine. The deal has already been done, and even if I cry my eyes out, I won’t get my company back. All I have to do right now is to find the culprit” Jane said.
“Culprit? What culprit?” Adrian asked.
“It got nothing to do with you. I allowed you to see me, so you should leave” Jane said and walked away.
“Jane!” Adrian said, trying to follow her.
“Just go home, Lucas. Your presence is not needed here”
“Do you h@të me too? We used to be friends” Adrian said.
“It’s a good thing you said used to be friends. I don’t want to see you here ever again, Adrian, because I will be prone to beat you up for everything you did to Jane. Leave when I am still being nice”
“Please take care of Jane. She needs it”
“You don’t have to remind me about it, Adrian. I have always been taking care of Jane, even before you came into the picture. Leave” He said, calmly.
Adrian nodded his head sadly, before leaving Jane’s house. Lucas looked at Adrain as he drove off, and sighed.

≤ THE STARS ACADEMY ≈ NEXT DAY ≥
Kayla sat in a bench in the school’s compound. She had a sad look in her eyes, because she was worried about her mom. Isa saw her and smiled.
“Kay… ” She stopped halfway and her smile vanish from her face when she remembered she was also part of the misfortune happening to Kayla’s mom. She was about leaving, but was stopped by Xavier’s voice.
“Kayla” He said, and Isa turned to look at them.
“Why are you here, Xavier? You should be in class” Kayla said in a sad voice.
“Are you alright?” Xavier asked.
Kayla looked at him and shake her head. “I’m not. Even if I try to act fine in front of my mom, I’m not okay. I’m so sad about what happened to my mom, Xavier. She worked so hard for the company that just exploded. I’m more sad because I can’t be of help to her. I wish I had done something to stop her company from exploding. I wish I had done something to help her” Kayla said, crying and Xavier shifts closer to her and hugged her.
“Don’t blame yourself for what happened, Kayla. You didn’t see it coming. All you have to do is to be there for your mom, so she won’t overthink. You don’t have to cry, I understand that it hurts, but you need to be strong for your mom, okay” He said patting her back.
Kayla nod her head, and slowly she hugged Xavier back, crying on his shoulders.
Isa felt sorry for Kayla, but knowing she wouldn’t be able to tel her the truth, she quietly leave and went to the back of the school.
“I’m so sorry, Kayla. Please forgive me” She said, crying.

≤ SAME DAY ≈ DASHIE TOWN ≥
A black limousine stopped in front of an old building, and Rebecca came down from it. She has took an early flight from Los Angeles to Dashie. She took off her shades before entering the house.
“Welcome, Ma’am Rebecca” Two hefty men said, bowing to her.
“Where’s she?” She asked.
“We locked her up ma’am Rebecca. She created a scene after seeing the news about Jane’s company, exploding” One of the men said, and Rebecca smirked.
“I will just see how she’s doing” She said and entered the room, and she sees Roseline struggling with the chains.
“Long time no see, Rebecca, or should I said Jane’s mom” Rebecca said with a smirk.
Anger ignited inside Roseline after she saw Rebecca’s face.
“You witch! You promise not to hurt Jane as long as I pretend to be dead! Why did you to that to my daughter’s company? I know you’re behind it! Why are you hurting Jane!” Roseline shouted trying to break free from the chains tied around her.
Rebecca smirked and walked closer to Roseline. “It’s all your fault, Roseline. If you haven’t slept with my my husband, I won’t have locked him up, and tell Adrian that he is dead, neither would I have h@të Jane for being the fruit of the one night stand you had with my husband!” Rebecca said.
“Stop doing all this Rebecca, you have done enough. Adrian is your son, he loves Jane”
“Do you possibly think I care about that adopted child of mine? It was all an act, so he’d love me and let me rule Dashie. Everything was going smoothly, until I found out that Jane is the heiress to the Mcbroom’s wealth!”
