“Tony…what do you mean?”Mariam stuttered,trying to walk closer to him but he raised his hand which got her stopping on her track’s.
“MARIAM LEAVE… GET LOST!!”
Tony pointed at the door, without looking at her.
“Can I explain why I did that at least?”Mariam asks and Tony turned to her.
“So far I’m concerned, there’s no explanation to this!! You’re worst than I thought Mariam,just leave before I do something you would regret”He breathed heavily and Mariam bite her bottom lips,with a closed eyes.
“You guy’s aren’t saying anything? Are you gonna keep calm and watch tony send me away?”She asks,directing the question to her other friends.
“What do you want us to do?”Tessa rolled eye.
“Not like we didn’t warn you not to come”Amanda added with a scoff.
“Yunno,I’m just talking to much”Tony sighed and grabbed her arm roughly, trying to push her out but Vanessa intervened.
“Seriously tony? Why are you pushing a girl that way? Come to think that she’s your friend”She scolded angrily.
“Vanessa, don’t butt in”Tony told her calmly.
“I’m not butting in tony,I’m only trying to make you see things. Wh@tëver she did, don’t you think she needs to be heard at least? You’re not even ready to hear her explanation, you’re only interested in pushing her out!? And you’ll….”She pointed at the rest.
“Instead of begging tony on her behalf, you’re all against her? Thought you’ll to be friends huh?”She asks and Tony gritted before turning to her.
“What if it tell you she’s the reason you….”Tony began but Kenn pulled his hand,he turn to look at Kenn who gave him signs not to talk.
“You have no idea of what she did,so it’s best you don’t interfere please”Tony told her and opened the door.
“I asked you nicely to leave,but you don’t want to,you left me with no choice other than pushing you out!”He said and pushed her out, making her fall at the entrance.
“Tony!!!!!”She called, standing up slowly.
“From today,you cease to be my friend. I don’t ever wanna see you or anything that looks like you! Got that?”He snarled and Mariam shook her head in tears.
“You’re not serious! Are you?”She chuckled nervously.
“Let’s see about that”He scoffed and shut the door on her face.
“Tony!!!”She screamed, hitting on the door loudly.
“Tony open this door!!!!”
“Tony I’m sorry!!!!!”
“You can’t do this tony!!!!!”
“Remember, we’ve been friends for long!!!”
“You didn’t value our friendship,if you did you wouldn’t have broken my trust! I least expected that from you”He scoff and Mariam continued crying, while hitting on the door.
“Is it that bad that you have to cut off with her?”Vanessa asks slowly and Tony nodded.
“It’s worst! Really worst”he replied and Vanessa looked at the door, feeling pity for Mariam.
“Poor her!”She muttered inwardly.
“Hope you’re okay now? Last night,you where completely drunk”Tessa teased and Vanessa chuckled.
“I guess alcohol is not my thing,I’m never tasting that again. Never!!”She clicked tongue and Tessa laughed.
“At least you’re fine right?”Kenn asks and Vanessa nodded.
“When it’s that drama?”Victor asks and Tony shrugged.
“Next week I guess”he replied.
“With the eagles Abi(right)?”Kenn asks and Tony shook his head.
“With the Golden’s! I told the eagles to shift theirs, there’s no way I’ll divide myself in two,but they insisted it to be next week. The Golden’s already approached me before them,so…?”He shrugged and Kenn nodded.
“You’re among the drama club?”Vanessa asks and Tony nodded.
“Better one ooo,no be nonsense drama club”Tony rolled eye.
“Like the peaÇOçks!! Gosh! That drama club is killing”Amanda squeezed her face, while speaking.
“Huh? How?”Vanessa asks, shifting closer to Amanda,so as to hear the full gist.
“Girls and gossip!! Kai”Kenn laughed and Amanda rolled eye.

“Amanda I no blame you”Kenn rolled eye and the other’s laughed.
“Kenn allow me gossip my gossip in peace”She scoffed and Vanessa giggled.
“Yunno,I like the sound of that?”She said.
“Wetin?”Amanda asks again.
“What you said now!”Vanessa replied.
“Oh wow, pidgin…no worry about that,mAh come out from my gossip First. This peaÇOçk club their name is even funny,and their acting? I bet they are possessed”Amanda shook her head and Vanessa shifted more closer.
“Tell me,why do you think they’re possessed?”She asks,placing her hand on her jaw.
“How can a reasonable being,like a normal person kill a fowl with mouth? And still swallow the intenstines abi wetin sef? They’re possessed, nothing anyone fit tell me”Amanda said and Vanessa gasped.
“That’s scary right?”She asks, nervously.
“Yes,but the most scariest is the one they acts as ghost,more reason I’m saying they’re possessed!! How can they disappear and reappear? No be juju be that?”She asks and Vanessa twitched her lips.
“Chu-Chu what’s that?”She asks and the rest burst into an uncontrollable laughter.
“Yes Vanessa,it’s not Chu-Chu Abeg,it’s juju and it means witchcraft”Amanda replied and Vanessa smiled.
“Chu-Chu,juju it’s still the same now”She replied and Amanda shook her head.
“But I think that peaÇOçk club belongs to the cult….”
“Tessa no talk Abeg”Amanda cut her off.
“Victor, your babe mouth no dey close at all? She’s been talking for long now”Kenn complained to victor who chuckled in return.
“Not my woman alone,all girls out there no dey keep quiet. They’re parrot the second”Victor replied and Kenn shook his head.
“Tessa is different Abeg,she speaks when necessary unlike your parrot Amanda!!”Kenn replied.
“Kenn,what did you tell Mariam last night?”Tony asks and Kenn shrugged.
“Just told her that you took Vanessa to one of your male lodge mates”he replied and Tony heaved.
“You should have told her the truth”He replied and both Kenn and Victor looked at him.
“So that Mariam will kill her final Abi? If she could do this,do you think she will think twice before killing her? Abeg,let’s not endanger the girl’s life. As E dey like this so, I’m even scared of that Mariam and you should have your eyes on Vanessa,so she wouldn’t harm her”Kenn said and Tony turned to look at Vanessa,who was still engrossed with her conversation with the girls.
“You’re right. Her safety should be my priority now”tony replied looking at Kenn who smiled.

📞”Are you being serious Mitchell? Seriously?”Vanessa scolded her boyfriend angrily over the phone.

📞”That’s cos I’m busy Vanessa,I need to work hard”He replied and Vanessa twitched her lips.
📞”Fine,I’m expecting your call tonight”She told him and the Mitchell guy scratched his hair.
📞”You’re going to be busy all night too?”She asks,seeing his reaction.
📞”I barely have time for myself Nessa and I’ve always been busy”He replied and Vanessa nodded,but then something caught her attention on the screen.
📞”Isn’t that a girl’s jacket hang there? Not any girl but Olivia’s jacket?”She asks with eye’s open in awe.
📞”C’mon babe, you’re thinking too much. That’s my cousin’s jacket,she came over. Not only Olivia wears that brand”He shrugged and Vanessa kept quiet, while looking at him.
📞”I have to go now okay! Bye babe and I love you”He blew kisses to her.
📞”Wait don’t….Füçk!!!”She cussed when he already disconnected the call.
“Here”Tony gave her a glass of water,which she took and gulped down.
“A..are..are you still feeling any pains?”Tony asks slowly and Vanessa took her bottom lips in, before shaking her head.
“This is prof innocent handout, study it all cos the man is very mean”Tony said, keeping the handout in front of her.
“Why are you giving me this? What about you?”She asks, looking at him.
“I bought two,so that’s Yours”He told her and she nodded.
“Can we study together then? I might sleep off while studying alone”She bite her bottom lips and Tony chuckled.
“I’m going out now maybe….”
“Huh? You’re going out?”She furrowed her brow and Tony nodded with a smile.
“I won’t take time,so you don’t have to worry! I only want to have a hair cut”He replied and Vanessa muttered an “oh” before nodding.
“Buy something when coming back”She told him and he nodded.
“Sure!”He said and opened the door, shutting it behind him.
Vanessa exhaled and opened the handout,but closed it back immediately.
She stood up, while dragging her then made her way to the kitchen.
She came back with a pack of cookies,then sat down and began eating it slowly.
She took her phone,but a message popped in immediately.
💌”Hi Vanessa,this is Mariam! Please,I really need your help I can’t afford to loose my friendship with tony,I know I did something wrong but they cutting off with me it’s really heartbreaking. Can we meet or you too h@të me also? The address is below,I’ll be expecting you!!”
The text said.
“Gosh! Poor her,I wonder what she did”Vanessa shrugged and stood up, but her phone dinged again.
💌”And don’t tell anyone you’re coming to meet me,they might not let you come”
“Owwww,I was even planning to tell tony,she’s right thou…he might not let me go”She took her bottom lips in and went to get changed.
After she was done,she took her pulse and left the lodge.

Vanessa came down from the bike,then paid the bike man before making her way through the place.
She looked at her phone,*Room 031*
She rubbed her temple’s nervously, checking out the room numbers and when she found the one she was looking for,she exhaled before knocking on it slowly.
“Come in”she heard a faint voice from inside.
She pushed the door open, and met Mariam sitting on the floor with a bottle of alcohol in his hand.
“You came!!”She smiled, while Vanessa rushed to her, before grabbing the bottle from her forcefully.
“Do you want to kill yourself? That’s not the end of the world, is it?”Vanessa scolded her and Mariam chuckled.
“It is the end of the world to me,why did you have to show up in our lives?”She half yelled and Vanessa flinched.
“What…what are you saying?”She stuttered and Mariam wiped her tears before standing up.
“Come with me”she said, leading her to a chair.
After they both have settled down successfully,an awkward silence took over in the room.

Tony opened the door with a smile,but his smile died off when he met the room empty and Vanessa wasn’t in the room.
“Where did she go?”He asks, finding his way to the kitchen but she wasn’t there also.
“Did she go to Tessa’s lodge? No!! She doesn’t know her lodge. What if she…gawd!!”He exhaled and brought out his phone, before dialing her number but it wasn’t connecting.
“Füçk!! The signal is poor!!”He roughed his hair, dialing it for the fifth time, yet it wasn’t going through.
He sat down on the bed, worriedly.

“Why are my here and what help where you talking about?”Vanessa began,when Mariam wasn’t ready to speak.
Mariam exhaled, before looking at Vanessa.
“I h@të you”She blurted out and Vanessa wiggled her brow in awe.
“Ha…h@të me?”Vanessa pointed at herself and Mariam nodded.
“Why did you have to leave America and come to Nigeria in the first place huh? As if that wasn’t enough!! Tony cut all ties with me cos of you! Isn’t that enough reason for me to h@të you more??”She screamed and Vanessa began shaking.
“I..I.. don’t understand what you’re saying”She said, trying to sound bold.
“I’m done pretending Vanessa,I’m done pretending to like you when I h@të you with everything in me. From the time I heard that Tony’s roommate was a girl, without even setting my eyes on you,my hatred for you developed and when I finally saw you,it grew from 1 to something I can’t even explain. I tried getting you out of the way by not hurting you and that’s where Sam came into the picture”She chuckled and Vanessa gasped.
“You…you sent Sam?”She asks surprisingly and Mariam smirked.
“The idíot brother I have, refused to do the simple task I asked him to do and went back to ABJ”She chuckled while Vanessa kept looking at her in surprise.
“I spiked your drink yesterday night,I did that for Tony’s trust in you to be broken. I wanted him to see you having s£x with a guy but it didn’t work, instead tony took you to his lodge mate!!”She chuckled and wiped her tears.
“You spiked my drink and made me lost my innocence?”Vanessa yelled and Mariam only smirked.
“Now you found out,what will you do huh?”She laughed, while Vanessa clenched her fist tightly.
“Now that I’m thinking of it,you needs to be beaten. How could you? What did I do to you huh?”Vanessa screamed out her lungs angrily.
“You’re still asking what you did? When you’re stealing Tony’s attention? I’ve always loved tony right from the moment I saw him,it was love at first sight”She continued.
“You did all this cos of tony? You’re pathetic. Tony will never love an idiot like you”Vanessa said and Mariam smirked.
“That’s why I’m ready to do anything, anything Vanessa. Just to have him!!”She laughed and Vanessa smirked.
“You’re miserable!!”Vanessa told her boldly.
“Your guts!! You know,I can just kill you right here and now, without anyone finding out”
Those words from Mariam, ignited a fear in Vanessa and her heart began pounding.
“You think I’m stupid not to tell anyone that you told me to come? I’ll never be that stupid to trust you”Vanessa clicked her tongue.
She didn’t know where the boldness to talk back came from, but she found herself challenging Mariam! Yes! She’s scared but she’ll never let it show,cos once she does Mariam is using it against her.
Mariam exhaled,then looked at Vanessa.
“Let’s settle this amicably Vanessa,go back to America else I’ll be killing you for real this time,I’m not saying for saying sake,I mean everything I just said. Leave when you’re still alive or be prepared to go back to America as a corpse”Mariam said vernomously and Vanessa’s eye grew wide in shock.
