Tony woke up,with a loud bang from his head.
He squeezed his face, while holding his head,he tried sitting up but laid back when he saw Vanessa sleeping peacefully with her head on his chest.
He smiled,then tucked a strand of hair behind her ear while staring at her beautiful face.
He kept staring at her face, without making a move till Vanessa’s eyes flicked open, which got tony shutting his eyes tightly.
Vanessa yawned,then sat up and began looking at his face.
“You’re pretending to be asleep right?”She asks slowly and Tony opened an eye, before opening the other.
“No I wasn’t”He replied slowly and Vanessa sighed.
“How are you feeling now?”Vanessa asks, feeling his temperature with her back hand but gasped almost immediately.
“You developed fever?”She pouted sadly and Tony nodded.
“I know it was gonna happen”He replied and Vanessa nodded before lifting his hand,then feeled it.
“It’s warm now”she smiled and Tony nodded, before trying to come down from the bed but Vanessa stopped him.
“Where are you going?”She asks him.
“I need to go buy drugs”He replied slowly and Vanessa nodded before pushing him back to the bed completely.
“You’re still not strong,I’ll go get it”She said, standing up.
She covered him back with the duvet,then opened the door.
“A minute,let me brush”She smiled and rushed to the bathroom.
“I’ll be back”She rushed out after she was done,but Tony gasped after the realization hit him.
“Sh|t!! I didn’t tell her the name of drugs to get!!”He roughed his hair,then took his phone and dialed her number but her phone began ringing in the room, which means she left her phone behind.
“Füçk!!”He cussed tiredly.
The door creaked open almost immediately and Vanessa rushed back in.
“Uhmm,I’m sorry the names of the drugs”She chuckled and Tony smiled before telling her the names.
The moment tony was done,she rushed out.
She came back after some minutes,with the drugs and also food.
She kept the food in the kitchen,then boiled hot water before coming out.
“I’m.. sorry,I can’t cook that’s why I bought already cooked food instead”She took her bottom lips in and Tony smiled.
“It’s okay”He replied and Vanessa looked at him, before feeling his temperature again.
“Jeez,he’s still burning”Vanessa muttered inwardly.
Tony closed back his eyes, while Vanessa sat down looking at him.
She was feeling really sad that he was sick!!
Some minutes passed and Vanessa went back to the kitchen,she came back into the room after doing some necessary thing’s.
“Tony, your water is ready”She tapped him slowly on the legs and Tony opened his eyes.
“Which water?”He asks slowly.
“Go take a shower hmmm!!”Vanessa smiled and Tony kept looking at her.
“You can’t go?”Vanessa furrowed her brow and Tony shook his head negatively.
“I can go,just help me to the bathroom”He told her and Vanessa quickly nodded, before helping him climb down the bed. She also guided him to the bathroom.
“Don’t forget to brush”She told him and came out.
While tony was busy, taking his bath Vanessa was busy cleaning the room and changing the bedsheets.
Once she was done with that,she went over to wash the dishes but the coming out of tony from the bathroom got her coming out from the kitchen too.
“Uhmmm,I’m coming with your meal and drugs”Vanessa told him and went to get the food.
She came back,with a plate of spaghetti and sauce.
She sat with him on the bed,then passed the food to him,but Tony kept looking at the food instead of eating.
“Jeez,you’re behaving like a girl right now!! Eat the food so you would have the meds. You think I’m letting you take them on empty stomach huh?”She scolded and Tony heaved before looking at the food while squeezing his face,the food aroma was turning his stomach.
“Okay,I’ll feed you!!”Vanessa said and Tony nodded slowly.
The moment the spaghetti entered Tony’s mouth,he stood up hurriedly and ran to the bathroom, while Vanessa went after him.
He bent down and began vomiting, which got Vanessa shaking in fear.
Tony turned and met Vanessa standing at his back.
“Should we go to the hospital instead?”She asks slowly,at the verge of tears and Tony smiled.
“Let’s go back to the room”he told her and Vanessa nodded slowly, while looking at him tears already trickling down her cheeks, oblivious to Tony.
They sat down on the bed, and that’s when tony noticed she was crying.
“Why are you crying?”He wiggled his brow and Vanessa wiped her tears but more kept rushing down.
“I’m crying cos of you. You’re getting me scared,let’s go to the hospital”She told him and Tony smiled before pulling her into his arm’s,but Vanessa broke it immediately cos of how hot he’s body was.
“You’re burning!!”She told him in tears and Tony sighed, before pulling her back in his arms.
“I’ll be fine okay!”Tony reassured but Vanessa shook her head in tears.
“Gawd!! Should I just name you a crybaby? I’ll be fine”Tony repeated and Vanessa stood up hurriedly.
She carried the plate of spaghetti to the kitchen, before rushing back to the room.
“I’ll be back”She said and before tony could stop her,she already ran out.
“Gosh!! Why did I have to fall sick?”Tony mumbled sadly and looked at the door, before lying down on the bed then covered himself again.
Vanessa came back after some minutes,with a big polythene bag.
She opened it and brought out the rice she bought, a can of energy drink and a pill which helps to control vomiting.
“I got this,have it first before eating”Vanessa gave him the pills and a glass of water.
Tony took it and gulped it down, before closing back his eyes but opened them immediately to look at Vanessa who still had traces of tears on her face.
He sat up slowly,then pulled her more closer to himself before wiping off the tear’s.
“You’re making me feel sad for falling sick! Can you stop crying huh? I’ll be fine”He looked at her pleadingly in the eye and Vanessa took her bottom lips in, before nodding reluctantly.
Tony smiled then placed his head on the wall, before shutting back his eyes.
Vanessa went back to the kitchen,then washed the dishes she wanted to wash earlier,after she was done she came back and helped to feed tony.
“Why are you taking care of me?”Tony asks after Vanessa has given him the fifth spoon.
“I don’t know too,let’s just say I have a good heart”Vanessa shrugged and Tony smiled.
She continued feeding him,till he ate up all the food. She gave him the pills and a glass of water.
“Do I have to take this?”He squeezed his face and Vanessa nodded.
“You really have to,cos I can’t keep looking at you this way”she replied and Tony exhaled while looking at the meds.
“Yah!! I should have known that you’re a girl,under the disguise of a boy!!”Vanessa huffed and Tony chuckled lowly, before gulping down the drugs.
“Now you’re a good boy”Vanessa smiled and tried packing up the plates but Tony held her hands.
“Thanks”He muttered and Vanessa flashed him a smile.
“It’s nothing actually,get some rest”She told him and Tony nodded before leaving her hand.
Vanessa packed up the plates,then left for the kitchen while tony smiled.
“Jeez!!”He hit himself funnily,then closed back his eyes.
Few minutes passed and Vanessa wasn’t back in the room! What could she be doing? Tony thought,then decided to call her.
“Do you need something?”Vanessa asks, bending to his level but Tony pulled her closer.
“What?”Vanessa raised her brow.
“What are you doing?”Tony asks her and she exhaled before replying.
“I’m cleaning”Was her reply, tony sighed and brought out his phone before showing the time to her. 12PM?? She gasps and Tony nodded.
“You haven’t eaten since morning,go eat something please”Tony told her and she took her bottom lips in.
“I..I..still need to clean the kitchen”She replied and Tony sighed.
“I remember clearly that you didn’t eat last night and it’s late today,still you haven’t eaten. Do you want to develop ulcer?”He asks, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear and Vanessa shook her head with her heart palpitating.
“Good then,go and eat else I’ll be forced to feed you myself”He told her boldly and Vanessa gulped before nodding reluctantly.
Tony released his hand, which was wrapped round her waist and she stood up hurriedly.
“I’ll go and eat”she said and rushed out of the room.

√√AN HOUR LATER √√
Tony sighed for the umpteenth time, while still lying down on the bed.
He stirred slowly, then sat up to look at the door, Vanessa went out to bring his clothes from the laundry shop but it’s been an hour already and he misses her like mad! Yes,he wouldn’t deny he was missing her.
He laid back down while clunching unto the quilt tightly,with his lips pouted.
He took his phone,then tried calling her number but she choose that moment to come back, seeing the look on Tony’s face she rushed to him,only to be pulled in his arms by him.
“What took you so long?”He asks, looking at her lovingly that Vanessa felt her heart skipping a beat.
“He..he.. wasn’t done with the clothes,so I had to wait till he was done”She replied hurriedly, trying not to look in his eyes.
“And you left me alone? Do you know how badly I was missing you?”He blurted out and Vanessa gasped.
“Mi… missing me?”She pointed at herself and Tony sighed.
“Nevermind”He told her and looked away.
Vanessa took her hand to his face,then turned it slowly while looking at him.
“It’s fine if you missed me,I..I..was missing you too over there”She breathed with her eyes closed and her heart pounding loudly.
She opened her eyes slowly,when she felt a soft hand on her cheeks, tony was caressing it softly.
She gulped and looked at his face, before looking down,her eyes already Misty.
“If I see any slightest drop of tears,I’ll be kissing you”Tony told her and she immediately clapped her lips together while looking at tony with wide eye.
“Hmmm!! I’m feeling sleepy now that you’re here”Tony exhaled with a smile,then closed back his eyes.
Vanessa tried standing up from him,but he was holding her tightly.
“Can you sleep too? You’ve been literally busy since you woke up in the morning!”He told her, without opening his eyes and Vanessa exhaled, before relaxing in his arms.
Few minutes passed and the minutes gradually turned to an hour,from an hour to hours and they both where still sleeping peacefully, wrapped in each other’s arms.
It was when Tony’s phone began ringing crazily,that he had to wake up.
He took the phone,to see that Kenn has been calling him and this was the 20th.
📞”Guy you dey mad nii? I’ve been calling for hours,where you kept your phone?”Kenn scolded angrily the moment tony picked up.
📞”Bring your voice down”Tony rolled eye.
📞”And why should I huh? Have you forgotten the vigil?”Kenn shouted again and Tony sighed.
📞”I didn’t,but I’ve been sick since today na. You just woke me up”Tony scoffed and Kenn gasped.
📞”You’re sick? When that one Start”Kenn asks and Tony sighed.
📞”I just said today”Tony replied and Kenn sighed.
📞”How did you fall sick and how are you feeling now?”Kenn asks and Tony released a heavy sigh.
📞”I came back under the rain last night and….”
📞”Don’t even talk tony!! Jeez! And you couldn’t tell any of us? I wonder how Vanessa was able to handle your childish behavior whenever you’re sick”Kenn sighed and Tony looked at Vanessa,who was still sleeping peacefully,he chuckled which got Kenn gasping.
📞”Why chuckling?”Kenn asks and Tony only smiled, while still looking at Vanessa.
📞”Well I’m good,all thanks to her”he replied with a smile.
📞”Yes Bruhh,is there something you’re not telling us?”Kenn asks knowingly and Tony frowned immediately.
📞”What’s that Abeg!!”He rolled eye and Kenn chuckled.
📞”So you won’t come to the vigil?”Kenn asks.
📞”Why won’t I? I’ll be coming”He replied him.
📞”No probs Bruhh,I’ll be waiting for the full gist. We will be waiting for you both at the gate okay?”Kenn asks and Tony replied him before hanging up.
He kept looking at Vanessa with a smile,then he found himself leaning closer to her lips.
He stopped few inches away, while looking at her lips which was pouted cutely as she slept,he heaved deeply gulping emptiness.
He leaned back,then placed a kiss on her forehead instead and Vanessa’s eye flicked open which got Tony’s eye growing wide open in awe,his mouth stuck on her forehead.
“What are you doing?”Vanessa groaned, pushing him off a little.
“Mosquito!! Yes mosquito on your forehead”Tony replied hurriedly, while pointing at her forehead.
“Did you kill it then?”She asks and Tony nodded.
“With your mouth?”Vanessa asks again and Tony sighed.
“Fine,I just placed a kiss on your forehead! I guess I’m not good at lying”He shrugged and Vanessa only yawned, without saying anything to him.
“So how are you feeling?”She asks and Tony shrugged.
“A lot better now”He smiled and Vanessa nodded.
“Don’t ever fall sick again”She told him and Tony nodded happily like a child.
“We are going to a night vigil”He told her and Vanessa arched her brows while tony kept nodding repeatedly.

√√NIGHT VIGIL √√
The church hall was filled up already by students, tony and his friends walked in to the hall.
A group of girls, immediately rushed to tony while Vanessa went to sit down without knowing what was happening.
“You didn’t attend the last vigil. Why?”The first girl asked.
“Well I was busy!!”He shrugged.
“You’re going to sing tonight right?”The second girl giggled and Tony sighed.
“I don’t think I will”he shook his head.
“No tony,we missed your voice. We really do”The third girl pleaded, pulling his arms happily.
“Please, please, please please please please please”They kept shouting,that tony had to cover his ears with his palms.
“Bring your voice down”He told them, and they sighed and started pulling him out of the hall, Vanessa turned and saw them leaving the hall.
“Where are they taking him too?”Vanessa whispered to Tessa,her eyes not leaving them.
“I don’t know….”
Vanessa stood up and left the hall too, going after them. But she suddenly lost them.
She stamped her foot angrily on the floor,then tried going back in but a folded paper rolled to her,then stopped on her feet.
She bent down slowly, and picked up the paper and once she opened it,she gasped lowly while covering her mouth.

Vanessa almost screamed but when she caught a glimpse of tony,she ran to him like flash,then hugged him tightly while hiccuping.
“I’m scared!! I’m scared!!”She cried, showing the paper to him,he took it and his eyes widened immediately.
“This is serious,let’s leave here”he pulled her with him, while Vanessa held unto him tightly, looking around in fear.
Mariam came out from her hiding place, then made a call.
📞”You’ll should leave,let’s say luck is on her side today. But she’ll never escape again”She smirked, and ended the call with whoever it was on the other end.
