CHAPTER 35⚔️36
Michael woke up early next morning and was welcomed by a pain in his head.He looked around and he was baffled to find himself in a totally different environment.
Little by little,pieces of the last night occurrence flowed back to his head and he gasped.He couldn’t believe he slept with a random lady he met within less than 24hrs.
He looked beside him and saw her all curled up.He moved closer and assessed her features.She is a really beautiful lady and he blamed himself for taking advantage of her drunken state.
He got up and went into the bathroom.He took a quick bath and wore his clothes as he prepared to leave the room.
“Where do you think you are going?”said Loveth drawing Michael attention to her.She felt so dirty to have slept with another man barely 24hrs after her last breakup.
“Do you think you can just leave me after what happened last night?”asked Loveth.She didn’t want to believe that he was the perverted kind of guy who would just leave after spending a night with her.
“Am sorry about what happened last night but we can’t blame ourselves.We were both drunk and we didn’t know what we were doing. So let’s behave like adults and forget it all.”said Michael and Loveth chuckled.
“Are you crazy?Forget it all?So you aren’t willing to take responsibility for it?”asked Loveth.
“Why do I have to be the one to take responsibility?We were both drunk and not in a normal state.Just tell me how much you want?”said Michael and Loveth lost it all.
She got up and wrapped the blankets around her body as she moved towards Michael angrilly.She stood in front of him and landed two heavy slaps on his cheeks.
Michael’s face turned red as he held his cheeks in pain.
“You are toying with fire.What we had last night doesn’t give you the right to slap me?Michael said dangerously.
“What do you take me for?A slut or a prostitute?.Fine,we had sëx but don’t you have a little sense of morality and try to even take responsibility.You want to give me money??To hell with you and your money.”yelled Loveth as tears formed in her eyes.
She just had the worst breakup of her life.A seven years relationship ended in a swift moment.She caught her best friend having an affair with her fiancee and she went to the bar to cool off her self.Her best friend had been with her since childhood and she was so hurt.
She was still trying to recover from all that then she had to meet a jerk like Michael again. Life had ready been so cruel on her.
Michael felt a little bit of empathy for her but there was nothing he could do.He couldn’t take responsibility because he lacks confidence in himself.
“What do you want?”asked Michael and Loveth bit her lips in annoyance.
“Really? Is that what you are going to say?”asked Loveth.
“I am late for work so here is my business card.Call me if you have thought about what you want.”said Michael and with that he left Loveyh with his business card snuggled in her hands.
Loveth fell to the ground and ruffled her hair and cried loudly.She couldn’t believe her drunken state led her to this. Surely,alcohol wasn’t for her.
Michael went home and quickly changed into an official outfit. Ever since he left Loveth’s place,he had been taunted by her words and the sad expression and tears in her eyes stung his heart badly.
His hands were tied because there was no way he could be in a relationship at this moment. It was still unbelievable that he lost control of his body and his hormones just because of a few liquor.
Michael walked out of the room and was about to go out when his mother came out of her room.He ignored her and moved towards the door.
“Where were you last night?”asked Linda and Michael sighed.He wasn’t in the mood for any argument but he knew she wasnt going to give up without an argument.
“I told you I was going to be late but some certain circvmstances made me not to come home”replied Michael and his mother hissed.
“Circvmstances??Don’t tell me you have a girlfriend?”asked Linda.
“What do you mean?Am I too young to have one?”asked Michael.
“You can’t even handle your family and you want to be in a relationship.You aren’t mentally prepared for it and there is no way you are going to date anyone without bringing my daughter to me.”said Linda.
“That is my business and not yours.”said Michael as he left the house.
His mother’s words rang in his ears and he made up his mind that he couldn’t take up anything with Loveth.He wasn’t going to drag her into his family mess so it was better they don’t even try to start what they won’t be able to handle.
