Jax wasn’t moving in the freezer but his faint heartbeat could be heard by Jack.
Jack had followed Jax to the place where Gabriella was captured and when Jax stopped at a certain point and wanted to trace Gabriella with her scent. Jack used the opportunity to stop him by shooting tranquilizers at him.
Not just normal tranquilizers but one strong enough to knock out an elephant. Jax couldn’t handle it and ended up passing out before he could see Jack’s face.
Jack placed him in the freezer afterward because that was the best place to weaken him.
“You will have to stay here for a long while brother,” Jack smirked and closed the freezer again, this time locking it.

Jack went back to his own cabin and went to the couch where Gabriella laid. He squatted by her side and trailed his fingers on her hair.
“So beautiful,” He whispered.
Gabriella was all he wanted in a woman and he would make her his at all close then become her baby’s father. She would continue thinking that Jax was the monster she shouldn’t return to.
As he kept stroking her hair, he received a call.
“Hello,”
“Jack, we need you here,” Jack heard over the phone. “You can’t afford to evade this meeting like you did before,”
“Alright, I’m coming,” Jack sighed and hung up.
He stared at Gabriella for a while before standing to his feet and leaving her side. He went to his room and changed into an expensive tuxedo suit that no one would believe he had the money to buy.
He looked like a different person as he returned to her. He put a note in her hand and planted a kiss on her forehead.
With a smile, he left her alone.
Three hours later, Gabriella woke up and read the note.
“Where did he go?” Gabriella rolled her eyes.
She went to take a drink from the fridge and gulped it down her throat.
“Aaah,” She let out a Mõ@n. “It tastes so good,” She smiled and took another gulp.
As she stepped out of the kitchen, she frowned her lips.
“There’s no TV here. I should probably take a walk,” Gabriella sighed. “How can he not a have a television?”
She walked out of the cabin and her eyes widened to see only trees around. She suspected that they were in the woods but she didn’t really think much about it.
“Sh|t!”, Gabriella cussed and began walking away from the cabin. “Should I leave the place like this? Well, I don’t think anyone is around to rob him. No one would even dare to go get close to him since he was sent away,”
“Poor guy,” Gabriella sighed.
“That Jax had to enjoy all the good things,” She pouted and continued walking away.
As she reached a certain place, she sighted another cabin.
“Is someone living there?” She asked and felt weirdly drawn to the place.
“I shoud check it out,” She tiptoed to the place and when she looked around, there was no one there.
She wanted to go back but something kept telling her to check. She got closer to the cabin and as she pushed the door open, it opened freely.
Gabriella got scared but proceeded inside.
The windows of the cabin were closed but the lamps were on.
“I hope that someone won’t arrest me for trespassing,” She muttered and walked further into the place.
She got to the kitchen but since the place looked deserted, she decided to leave.
As she turned back, she heard a small bang from behind.
Gabriella turned back and darted her gaze at the freezer.
“I’m going crazy, I better get out of here,” Gabriella said but she heard a low growl from the freezer.
“What was that?” She shuddered.
She slowly walked to the freezer and stared at it, wondering why it was locked.
“What’s inside,” She became curious. “Should I break the lock?”
Her mind kept telling her to break it and she left the cabin to get a stone. She got back to the freezer and began jamming the stone on the padlock.
The padlock eventually shattered and Gabriella swallowed hard.
“Why am I even doing this?” Gabriella asked herself, wondering if she was stupid or crazy.
She slowly opened the freezer and screamed.
“Ahhh!!!!” She screamed and jumped backward as she saw Jax inside there.
She was visibly trembling, unable to control her heart that raced terribly in fear.
“Oh my God!” Gabriella cried and had to take a few seconds to get over the shock.
“Jax!” She cried and took her hands into the freezer which was so cold that she could hardly grab him.
“Jax, how did you get in here?” She cried and managed to grab him but pulling him out of there was a huge problem.
He was taller and heavier than her. She was trying her best not to fall as well.
With tears rushing down her face, she managed to bring him out but his body was so stiff and it scared her.
“Jax,” Gabriella cried and laid him flat on the floor.
She didn’t know what to do but she started rubbing her hands on his body to warm him up but there was no movement from him.
“Jax, who put you in there?” Gabriella cried.
“Someone help!!!” Gabriella cried, not knowing the next step to take.
“Open your eyes, please,” Gabriella cried as she held his cold face. “I won’t run away again, I promise. I won’t call you a dog again…or insult your father… I promise to be polite, please wake up,”
When he didn’t show any sign of responding, she placed her ear close to his chest and there was no heartbeat.
“No, you can’t die like this!” Gabriella shook her head and placed her hands on his chest, doing a CPR.
“You can’t die, please don’t die!!!” Gabriella sobbed harder.
“What are you doing here?” Jack stormed in.
Gabriella raised her wet eyes and wh@tëver feeling she had, disappeared.
“It was you, right?”
“You locked your brother in a refrigerator, you monster!” Gabriella sprang and rushed to him, giving him a hard slap on his face.
“You’ve killed him!”

As Gabriella’s hand hit his face, one of her fingers bent because his face was so hard.
He was a werewolf but she forgot that part.
“Ow!”, She groaned in pain and held her hand.
“Are you okay?” Jack asked.
“Don’t touch me!” She screamed as he tried touching her. “How could you be so cruel?”
“Baby, I didn’t do this. What do you think of me?” Jack asked.
“You’re insane, you’re a psychopath…” Gabriella gasped, wondering why she tried liking him.
“I didn’t do anything, you’ve got to believe me,” Jack lied.
He didn’t know how she found Jax but he had to keep up with his act. He couldn’t lose her.
“I will help you in taking him to the hospital, don’t worry, okay?”
“Get away from us!” Gabriella yelled.
“I’m trying to help you. If we leave him here any longer, he’s going to die!”
At the mention of death, she realized Jax must still have a heartbeat that Jack could hear because he was a werewolf.
“Let me help you,” He whispered.

Hospital.
Gabriella kept pacing back and forth with tears rolling down her cheeks.
Jax and her didn’t have a good relationship but she didn’t want him to die. She couldn’t imagine the pain he must have gone through inside that refrigerator.
“Baby, have your seat,” Jack said, hating how concerned she was about Jax.
“Don’t you dare call me that again!” Gabriella faced his anger.
“I know that you locked him in there and there’s nothing you can say or do to change my mind. And if anything happens to him, I’m going to report you to your ill mannered father,” Gabriella threatened.
“Gabriella, I didn’t lock him in there. I swear,”
“Stop swearing! You’re so disgusting when you act like a saint!” Gabriella cried and took her hands to her stomach, having difficulty breathing.
She began panting heavily and almost passed out. But Jack was able to hold her before she could fall. “Are you okay?”
“Let go of me,” Gabriella said, wriggling out of his grip. “Let go or I will scream,”
“Release her,” a nurse who was passing by, showed concern.
Jack reluctantly removed his hands from her and Gabriella rushed to the nurse.
“Are you alright?” The nurse asked, touching her neck and forehead.
“No, I can’t breathe properly. I’m pregnant, I don’t know what’s wrong with me,” Gabriella sobbed, trying hard to catch her breath.
“Everything will be okay, just keep breathing…”
Jack clenched his fist. His plans had been ruined but he would find a way to crawl his way back into Gabriella’s heart.

Flynn’s house.
“Jax has still not returned,” Flynn said, eating an apple on the bed.
“He will return soon.” May sighed. “We haven’t really talked since I got back from my trip,”
“I can’t wait till he marries you to fulfill our plans, ” Flynn bit another part of the apple.
“Flynn, why are you so impatient?” May queried. “I already told you that we should wait till the wedding. He’s going to marry me,”
“Well, I’m not too sure about that,” Flynn said.
May walked to him and sat by his side.
“What do you want to do?” She asked.
“I am going to look for Jax’s twin brother and I am going to form a team with him. I’m sure that he would want the Alpha title,” Flynn smirked.
“Jack? I heard that he’s really resentful,”
“That’s why I should partner with him. He will kîll his brother and I will find a way to kill him.”
“I get to kill two birds with one stone,”
May smiled as she heard his words.
“You’re such a genius,” She chuckled and kissed his lips.

Hospital.
Jax was in a coma and Gabriella was by his side. She had already been examined by the doctor and he said that she had to rest.
She rested for only an hour and came to check up on Jax. She was happy that he was alive and she hoped that his condition improved.
“You gave me such a big scare. Please don’t ever do that again,”
She sighed and held his hand. She rubbed her cheek on it, letting out a sigh.
“You might be annoying and get angry easily but I need you, your baby needs you…I can’t do it all alone,” Gabriella muttered with her eyes welling up with tears.
“Wake up please,” She sobbed softly.
The next day, Jax’s father and step mother visited.
“How did he get into this situation?” Echo asked.
“I don’t know. I found him in a refrigerator in the woods,” Gabriella replied, not mentioning the real culprit.
“What were you doing the woods?” Mr Black asked, looking angrily at her. “And where was the refrigerator…”
Gabriella didn’t know what to say. She wasn’t trying to protect Jack but she couldn’t confess that he harmed Jax. She knew that the consequences would be death.
“I don’t know…” Gabriella shook her head.
Jax’s father stared at her and nodded. “You’re trying to act smart right. You tried to kill my son and you’re pretending to know nothing,”
“How can I kill Jax when I’m human? And though he might be a jerk, he’s still the father of my child and my mate…” Gabriella didn’t realize when she called him her mate.
“Well, I don’t believe you,”
“Guards!!!”
Gabriella’s eyes widened when guards rushed into the room.
“Arrest and torture her till she decides to confess the truth!” the old man growled.
“You can’t do that to her, she’s pregnant,” Echo tried defending her but received a dangerous glare from her husband.
“I am not lying!” Gabriella screamed as she got held by the guards. “You can’t do this to me, I have to be with Jax,”
The guards began dragging her away and she couldn’t do anything about it.
“Let me go! Please don’t hurt me,” Gabriella cried heavily. “You’re holding me tightly, let me go!”
“Don’t take me away from Jax! Stop!”
The two guards dragged her out of the hospital but as they tried forcing her into the car, the first one had his neck snapped and the same thing happened to the other one.
Gabriella trembled in horror but when she turned, her eyes widened to see Jack.
“Get away from me,” She tried running away but he held her arms.
“Gabriella calm down!, I’m not the one who put my brother in that freezer. It wasn’t me,” Jack continued in his lies. “I h@të him but I wouldn’t do something like that to him. If I wanted to kill him then I would have done it long ago,”
Gabriella relaxed a bit and asked; “If you didn’t do it then who did?”
“It wasn’t me, I swear.” Jack said and took his hands to her face. “Believe me, I will never do anything that could hurt you,”
“I didn’t do it, please believe me baby” Jack said, slowly bringing his lips to her lips.
“I believe you…”
