Ji-ho and Su-ho sat outside the cafeteria having their snacks along with a milkshake
“Oh my gosh, ji-ho I am so happy for you, you are now Dang-Geun’s girlfriend, it’s so romantic”. Su-ho said excitedly and ji-ho smiled.
” Yeah, it’s like a dream come true, you know I have always had a crush on him during our school days”. she said.
“Really? That’s so cool!”.
” You think so? But is kinda awkward”. ji-ho said
“How do you mean? You don’t want to be his girlfriend?”.
” No, not that, is just…” she sighed, and then her phone beeped with an incoming message, she read it and was surprised.”oh”.
“What?” Su-ho asked to see the surprised look on her face.
“um, I just got a text from Baek-Hyun’s dad that I won’t be taking Baek-Hyun on his lessons today because he is ill”. She said, Paled
” Oh, was he ill in school today?”
“No, I didn’t notice the signs on him, but although he….” she had a flashback
SIX HOURS AGO……..
Ji-ho walked into the class and the students were cheering her up.
“wow, miss ji-ho, congratulations!”. they all chorus and she smiles at them
” You two make a good couple”. one of the students said.
“We are so happy for you, we can’t wait for the wedding bell to ring”. Another student said jokingly and they laughed. ji-ho raises her face to Baek-hyun to see him looking calm and pale, she sighs and turns her gaze back to the students smiling. The flashback ends and su-ho taps her shoulder.
” What, why are you so quiet?”. She asked.
“Nothing, just trying to remember something”.
” Okay, so speaking of Baek-Hyun, how did he react when he found out that you accepted to be Dang-Geun girl?” Su-ho asked smiling at her.
“How do you mean? Why will he react, he is not as if he is my boyfriend, he is my student, so, he is happy like the other students” She sips from her drink.
” Are you sure? But I thought he was into you”.
“Of course not, Baek-Hyun is my student and he is just been childish”. she replied and Su-ho sighed.
The next day, Byung-ho and chan-yeol came over to see Baek-Hyun because he was absent from school. Baek-Hyun lay on the bed while his friends sat on the sofa staring at him.
” You don’t look sick, but when did it happen? if I can remember clearly the last time you fell sick was five years ago when you fell into the Comfrey plant at Uncle Lee plantation farm, which almost cost you your death right?” Chan-yeol said and Baek-Hyun rolled out his eyes.
“Seriously!” Byung-ho frowns at him.” if you don’t know what to say, just shut it”. he warned.
“Yeah, wh@tëver”.
” So, Baek-Hyun how are you feeling right now?”. Byung-ho asked.
” Much better, you guys shouldn’t have bothered to come here”. he said.
“Why not? We are your friends and we care a lot about you, you needed to see how the whole school was calm and moody when they heard you were not feeling fine, they tried to come but we stopped them because we know you don’t want that”. Byung-ho said.
” I really appreciate you guys coming here though”. he replied.
“Seriously man, what are you sick of? is it fever, diarrhea, fatigue, muscle aches or let me say, having a lovesick because I can’t imagine you waking up one day and then falling sick without showing signs of it”. chan-yeol said.
” What are you trying to say?”Byung-ho asked.
“What I am saying is that Baek-hyun is heartbroken that is why he is lovesick”. he said and Byung-ho smacked his head.” ouch!”.
“Why are you saying things out of point?”. he asked and chan-yeol scoffed, then there was a knock on the door, and Mrs. I-jun entered.
“Alright, you guys should come down for lunch,” Mrs. I-jun said.
“Okay aunt, we will be right down”. Chan-yeol replied with a smile.
” Baek-Hyun you should come down too, you haven’t come out of your room since yesterday”. she said as she sat next to him holding his hand tenderly.
“Am ok Mom, and besides I am not hungry “. he replied.
” No, you ate little this morning and you need a lot of food in other to take your drugs”
“your mom is right, you should eat something”. Byung-ho said.
” I will, not now, I don’t have an appetite”
“He will eat when he is hungry, we shouldn’t worry about that”. Chan-yeol said as they stood up to leave.
” You can join us if you change your mind,” Mrs. I-jun said, and they left shutting the door behind them. Baek-Hyun sighed and covered himself with the blanket.
At the dining table, they were having their lunch when the doorbell rang, one of the maids went to open the door, and ji-ho entered.
“Welcome miss”. the maid greeted her with a slight bow and left for the kitchen.
” Good day everyone”. ji-ho greeted and they turned in her direction.
“You are here, you are welcome”. Mrs. I-jun replied with a warm smile.
” Welcome Miss Ji-ho”. Byung-ho and chan-yeol greeted in union and she responded with a smile.
“please join us”. Mrs. I-jun offered.
” No ma, am ok”.
“Ok, if you insist”. she said.
” Are you here to lecture Baek-Hyun? Because I don’t think he will be able to, he has been on his bed all day”. chan-yeol said.
“Yeah, he is right”. Mrs. I-jun said.
” no, I am not here to lecture him but to see how he is faring”.
“Wow, that’s so thoughtful of you”. Mrs. I-jun said
“of course ma, he is my student “.
” That’s nice miss ji-ho, I hope you will come to visit me when I fall sick.”chan-yeol said and they laughed.
“Are you wishing to be sick?”. Byung-ho asked.
” if only it brings Miss Ji-ho to my house”. he teases.
“you are so funny”. Mrs. I-jun said laughing
” let me check on him”. she said and walked away. she arrived at the doorstep and hesitated before knocking, meanwhile, Baek-Hyun was trying to get up from the bed to get himself some water that was on the shelf beside the edge of the bed, he stretched out his hand weakly to get the glass cup but it slipped and fell on the floor and break into pieces, due to the noise, ji-ho open the door quickly.”Baek-Hyun”. she called looking worried and Baek-Hyun turns to her direction surprisedly.
“Miss ji-ho?”. he called surprisedly as she rushed to him and saw the broken glass on the floor.
” Are you hurt?” she asked tensely.
“No, I tried to get water, but the glass cup slipped off my hand”. he said as he relaxed back on the bed.
” Okay, let me help you with the water”. she took another glass cup and poured water from the jug into it and then handover to him.
“Thank you”. he sips from it and places the cup on the shelf.
” Let me get something to clean this–
“you don’t have to “. he cut her short. ” I will call one of the maids to come clean it up”. he added and then pressed a button from the side of the wall, not too long there was a knock on the door, and one of the maids entered he asked her to clean the floor which she did without hesitation and she left.
“So, how are you faring?”. she asked.
” Why are you here, Miss Ji-ho?” he asked staring straight into her eyes, and she sighed.
“To see how you are doing”. she replied.
” You shouldn’t have”. he said unlikely.
“of course have to, you are my student after all “.
“Really? Is that the main reason?”.
” Yeah”.
“ok, since you have checked up on me, you can go” He turns his face to the other side of the bed.
” Baek-Hyun, why are you pissed off? anyway, why are you here, aren’t you supposed to be in the dining room with your mom and your friends?” she asked and Baek-hyun ignored her. “Baek-Hyun”.
” Just leave me, alone miss ji-ho, I’m not hungry “. he said and his tummy growled.
” Really?” she scoffed and stood up to meet him on the bed, she pulled down the blanket from his body and grabbed his hand, Baek-Hyun was surprised
“What are you doing?”.
” taking you to the dining table”. she tried to pull him up, but he struggled with her, then he suddenly pulled her to himself and her body was resting on him as their faces were an inch apart.” what are you doing?”. she gulped nervously trying to pull away from him, but his arms were right on her.
“I just want to ask you one question, do you love him?” he asked as their eyes interlocked and the atmosphere between them was cool and emotional, Baek-Hyun turned his gaze down to her lips and he gulped numerously and was enticed, he started bringing his lips closer to hers and ji-ho went still and she couldn’t believe what was going on with her, she was thinking to push him off but her whole body was resisting. Their eyes were closed as their lips were about to touch each other, they got interrupted by someone opening the door, ji-ho regained herself and jumped up from his body, trying to calm herself, Byung-ho and chan-yeol entered as chan-yeol was the one holding the tray of food, Baek-Hyun sighs angrily to see it was his two friends that just interrupted the moment. ” d@mn you two! ” he said to himself angrily as he stare hard at them. Chan-yeol and Byung-ho could see how tense and nervous ji-ho looked and the angry look on Baek-Hyun’s face, then they noticed they just interrupted something important.
“is everything ok here? did we interrupt something?” Chan-yeol asked smiling knowingly at them.
“I will take my leave now, Baek-Hyun try and get well soon”. ji-ho said as she picked up her bag and hurried out, they stared after her.
” Why are you guys here?”Baek-Hyun asked unlikely as he brought their gaze back to him, Chan-yeol placed the food on the table and sat down on the sofa along with Byung-ho.
“Did we by any chance interrupt something?” chan-yeol smirked and Baek-Hyun scoffed.
“Is Miss Ji-ho okay? She left in a hurry,” Byung-ho asked. Baek-Hyun stares hard at them and grunts loudly as he covers himself with the blanket, his friends stare confusedly at him.
