Chapter-Twenty-Five
Ha-jun and her parents came over to Mr. Dae-jung’s house for the family dinner.
“We are so pleased you honored our invitation”.Mr.Dae-Jung said.
” What are family for”.Mr.Dong-Geun said and they laughed. Ha-jun smiles at Baek-Hyun and smiles back, their family notices them and smiles at them except Mrs I-jun who sighs.
“Is everything okay?”Mrs.Do-Yun asked staring at Mrs.I-jun.
” Yeah”. she replied.
“Mom, are you sure? You look paled”. Baek-Hyun said.
” Yes, am fine” She smiled forcedly.
“Don’t worry about your mother, she is fine “. Mr.Dae-Jung said.
” No worries everyone, am fine”. she said. “please enjoy your meal”. she added and they continued eating and chatting, Baek-Hyun stared at his mother and noticed her moody face.
An hour later, they were seated in the living room diluting their meal with sweet wine.
” I hope you enjoy your meal.”Mrs.I-jun said smiling.
“Yes, it was delicious”. Mrs.Do-Yun complimented.
” You are a great cook, aunt, I hope I can have more of this delicious meal from you in the future”. Ha-jun said and they laughed except Mrs. I-jun who smiled forcedly
“Of course, dear” Mr.Dae-Jung said.
“Well, since everyone is here, how about we start making arrangements for the wedding,” Mr.Dong-Geun said, and Mrs. I-jun was surprised.
“Wedding?” she asked confusedly.
“Yes, now that our children have known each other and understand each other, I think is at time we proceed with the wedding “. Mrs.Do-Yun said and Ha-jun smiled shyly.
” Yes, what do you think son, do you want to go on with it?”Mr.Dae-Jung asked and everyone turned their gaze at him.
“Um, I think so,”. he said, and Ha-jun hugged him quickly in excitement, the rest were pleased with his decision, except Mrs.I-jun who stared surprisedly at his son.
” You have made me proud son”.Mr.Dae-Jung said.
“Let’s cheers to this amazing day”. Mr.Dong-Geun said and they cheered. Baek-Hyun notices his mother’s mood and he sighs.
Two days later, Chan-yeol and Byung-ho came over to Baek-Hyun’s house after finding out about his marriage with Ha-jun. They sat down at the mini bar having their drink.
” You did what? You are getting married to Ha-jun?”Chan-yeol asked surprisedly
“Yeah, is there something wrong with it?”.
” Dude! Since when did you develop feelings for her? you two were never this close, so how come you agreed to marry her?”Byung-ho asked confusedly.
“It just happened, Ha-jun is a wonderful woman for me and I see no reason in getting married to her” ” He sips from his wine.
” You are not yourself, Baek-Hyun, you are going crazy, how can you think of marrying Ha-jun when ji-ho still holds the part of your heart”. Chan-yeol said.
“No, not anymore, Ji-ho and I parted ways, there is nothing between us anymore”.
” You are really bad at lying, you still feel a strong connection with her, and your getting married to Ha-jun is just revenge to get back at Ji-ho for leaving you”.Byung-ho said
” Exactly! Byung-ho is d@mn right on this, you are going to make the biggest mistake of your life”.Chan-yeol said.
“Just know we are not in support of this marriage thing with Ha-jun”. Byung-ho said and they gulped their drinks.
Ha-jun lay on her bed and was on a group phone call with her friends.
” Of course, it looks like a dream to me……..uh huh, you can say that again” she laughs out loud.”Am the most happiest girl on earth, do you know what it means to be Baek-Hyun’s wife, I have always dreamt of getting married to him and I thought it wouldn’t be possible because of that old rag that was forcing herself on him”.she hiss. “Don’t mind her, she is no longer in the picture because Baek-Hyun, I mean my soon-to-be husband” ” She smiles and continues,” he warned her seriously never to be seen around him again, he has totally fallen out of love for her”.there was a pause.” exactly!” she laughed.” ok, I will see you guys soon, I need to make a post on my blog”. she hung up and sighed and started posting on her blog. “it’s done” she smirked staring at one spot.
Soon enough the news about Ha-jun and Baek-Hyun getting married spread rapidly online, and on social media, everyone was talking about it including the TV stations.
Su-ho was seated in her office when the news popped up on TV, and she was surprised.
“What? Baek-Hyun is getting married to the President’s daughter? How?”. she asks confusedly and quickly makes a phone call to someone to know if the rumors are true.” it’s true”she hangs up after talking to the person for a while.”This is so not good.
Mr.Dae-Jung was smiling at the news when his wife came over to join him.
” you are really game for this, Are you going to allow this to happen?” she asked and her husband stared confusedly at her.
“How do you mean?”.
” Exactly what you heard, you and I know Baek-Hyun doesn’t want this marriage, you forced him into it”. she said frowning at him.
“Seriously, you think I forced him into it? weren’t you here with everyone else when he agreed to marry Ha-jun, why am I being blamed for it”
“Because you put too much pressure on him, Baek-Hyun isn’t in his right senses, he won’t be happy with Ha-jun”.
” How do you know about that, they will be happy together once they are married”. he said.
“I hope you won’t regret this someday”. she stood and left for her room.
Ji-ho lay down on her bed staring at the post trending online, she felt sad and then smiled.
” I wish you both a peaceful reunion”. she said and then her phone rang, she saw the caller and picked it up. “hello sis, how are you?” she said and Si-u’s voice came through the other end.
“Am fine, I guess, how are you?”
“Am good, everyone is fine over here”.
” Okay, I just called to know how you are fairing”. she said and Ji-ho chuckled.
“I know that is not why you called, you called to check if I have seen the news about Ha-jun and Baek-Hyun’s marriage, right?”.
“um, yeah, you are right, please don’t think too much about it”. she sputtered.
” No, I won’t, am actually happy for them”.
“but you know –” she got interrupted.
“I know, so, let’s just say that’s how fate works, you know what, I will call you back later, bye” ” She hung up and let out a deep sigh.
Later in the evening, Baek-Hyun stood outside his balcony staring out to the City along with a glass of red wine, just then his phone beeped with an incoming message, he saw it was a video clip from Chan-yeol and a short write-up written beneath it.
” I hope this video reminds you that no matter what, you can’t get rid of your feelings for ji-ho” he read it and played the video, it was a video of him being drunk and calling out to Ji-ho’s name. He sighs and gulps his drink. Not too long after the doorbell rang and the maid left to open the door.
“Good evening ma”. she greeted with a slight bow, Ha-jun walked in majestically without replying to her greeting.
” Where is my fiance?”
“He will probably be in his room”. she replied.
” Ok” She left climbing the staircase, and soon she arrived at the doorstep and opened it without knocking. “Baek-Hyun “. she called and Baek-Hyun heard his name and moved to his room, he was surprised to see her.” hey honey”. she ran into his arms and kissed his cheek before pulling away from his arms.
“Ha-jun, what a surprise to see you here, you didn’t tell me you were coming”. he said and moved to the couch and sat down also with Ha-jun.
” Yes, I know, I just wanted to surprise you and also spend the night here, hope you don’t mind,” she said smiling faintly at him.
“Um, no, I mean this is your house too”. he said and Ha-jun hugged him happily.
” Thank you, let me go and freshen up, and then we can celebrate our upcoming wedding with this amazing wine that I brought” ” She brought out the wine from her bag and placed it on the table.
“ok, this looks nice”.
” Of course, I know you will like it “” She stood up and left for the bathroom, Baek-Hyun picked up the wine and glanced through it before putting it back.” Baek-Hyun can I get one of your shirts, I forgot to bring my nightwear,” she said from the bathroom.
“Okay” ” He left to his wardrobe and brought out his white T-shirt and moved to the doorstep in the bathroom. ” here is it “” He turned his face to the other side as Ha-jun opened the door slightly and took the shirt from him before shutting the door against him.” I will go get us glasses”.
“Sure”. She replied and Baek-Hyun left to get two glasses from his mini bar, he came back and saw Ha-jun looking attractive in his shirt, and he couldn’t help but drool over her beauty, he quickly regained himself and moved to sit next to her on the couch.
” Here we go”. he took the wine bottle and opened it, and then served each glass.
“Let’s cheer to life”. they cheer and then take a sip.
” Wow, this tastes nice”. he compliments.
“I know you will like it”. she said smiling as they continued drinking and chatting, Baek-Hyun took another sip from his shirt and it mistakenly dropped on his shirt.” oh, let me help”. she pushed closer to him and started using her hand to clean it off.
“you don’t have to, I will–” he got interrupted.
“Let me” She smiled at him and suddenly she got lost in his eyes, She leaned closer and Baek-Hyun was caught off guard as she kissed him, his eyes widened in surprise, and Ha-jun made enough space to look at him.” I like you, Baek-Hyun”. she leaned closer and continued to kiss him, Baek-Hyun went still and didn’t respond, suddenly she dozed off on his body. he sighed and helped her up to the bed and covered her with the blanket, he went back to continue drinking.
