Jewel was underneath the duvet trying to get her thoughts together. Did she really mean he should leave????? Her eyes kept pouring out tears freely.
“I hope you heal fast” Luke said before disappearing.

Few minutes later, Jewel came out to the dinning for dinner. She sat quietly on the chair as Glenda served the meal.
Everyone sat quietly and ate. It was awkward and Dina decided to break the silence
“Does your head still hurt?” She asked and Jewel nodded her head negatively. Again silence reigned. The only sound left was the one made from the cutleries.
“Is it about Luke?” Glenda asked and Jewel looked up. How did she know??? She turned her gaze to Dina who looked down guiltily.
“I already know about it”
——(Few Minutes Earlier, in the kitchen)——–
“Why did you suggest we make dinner? Jewel clearly isn’t okay yet” Glenda said trying to go back to the room.
“We can do that later, for now, I’m hungry” Dina said dragging Glenda’s left arm as she led the way to the kitchen.
“I never knew I gave birth to twins” Glenda said jokingly and Dina laughed.
“Then what happened? Did you get into a ghost accident? Where you hospitalized?”
Glenda paused her step. That was Jewel talking. Dina gulped down emptiness. She had managed to get Jewel’s mom out of the room so those duo would talk in peace and the least Jewel could do was to speak quietly. But plan failed as Jewel’s voice was loud enough to make Glenda stop on her tracks.
“I try my best to help you finish an unfinished business that is and shouldn’t be connected to me. I was there for you to talk to when no one could see or hear you. I was there every single day of your Füçking ghost life, but what did get in return??? I was hospitalized and you weren’t even there for me…”
“That’s Jewel’s voice, right???” Glenda asked facing Dina who faced another direction.
“The least you could have done was to be present” they heard Jewel say
“What’s going on???? Who’s Jewel talking to????” Glenda asked turning Dina to face her.
Dina couldn’t speak. Was she supposed to let Glenda know???? How would she react when she finds out that her daughter can see a ghost??
So many thoughts ran through Dina’s small mind
“Dina????” Glenda called questioningly
“Wait, don’t tell me….OH MY GOD” Glenda exclaimed
“How could I have forgotten?? Jewel turned twenty this year” Glenda said pacing about
“What do you mean???” Dina couldn’t help but ask
“Rise once told me about his family history. How their daughters could see ghost when they turn twenty. And how they are supposed to help them cross over by finishing their unfinished business” Glenda said and stopped.
“How could I have forgotten how was Jewel able to cope?” A tear fell off as she continued “She’d been through so much. I’m such a bad mom” Glenda said turning towards Jewel’s room.
“I think they need some personal space” Dina said slowly making Glenda to halt her steps.
“Do you know who she is helping??” Glenda asked and Dina had no choice but to tell her everything leaving no details behind.
———(Back to the present)————
“No, it’s not” Jewel said bitting her bottom lips.
“There’s no need to lie” Glenda said
“I’m lying” Jewel said bitting her bottom lip unconsciously
“You are. Whenever you lie you bite your lower lips unconsciously” Dina said
“It’s something you do since you were a kid and it became a habit. You bite your lower lip when you are nervous or lie. And in this case, you are lying” Glenda said.
“So is it about Luke??” Glenda asked again and Jewel nodded slowly.
“Wanna talk about it???” Glenda asked but got no response from her.
“There’s no need to talk about it if you don’t want to” Glenda said again returning to her meal.
“I shouldn’t have asked him to leave” They heard Jewel say and all ears stood alert ready to listen.
“I felt sad that he wasn’t there when I opened my eyes at the hospital and I…”
“I let my emotions cloud my thinking and…and…” Jewel sniffed “I asked him to leave”
“Wait you didn’t hear him out????” Dina asked and Jewel nodded negatively.
“Maybe, he’ll come back” Glenda suggested
“No he won’t” Jewel said looking down asked she picked her fingernails
“I made it clear that I never wanted to see him” Jewel said as a tear fell off.
“But I still think you should have heard him out” Dina said making Jewel lift up her head
“I have a feeling, Luke was at the hospital, maybe the theater with you when your life was hanging on a thin thread” Dina said making Jewel give her raised eyebrows.
“I was at Alex’s. He said Luke disappeared the moment he saw the news. So there’s a great probability he was headed to the hospital” Dina said making Jewel feel more guilty.
“I’m full” Jewel said leaving the table.
“There’s something more between Luke and my daughter….right????” Glenda asked facing Dina who gulped down emptiness.
***********ALEX’S HOUSE************
“What’s going on???” Mira asked for the umpteenth time. And as before, Alex ignored the question, standing up as he headed for the bedroom.
“What the h*ll was going on here” Mira asked, half yelling, ruffling her hair as she followed Alex.
“Are you my mom???” Alex asked instead
“What!!!!” Mira asked getting infuriated
“Wh@tëver you saw was what was going on” Alex said going to the closet to pick some clothes.
“Who’s that girl?” Mira asked and again, she was ignored
“Will you just tell me who that girl is and why you were hugging her???” Mira said sitting on the bed
“I never said you could sit”
“What?!! I can’t sit???, but you let a total stranger sleep for hours on this same bed, huh??” Mira asked like a demanding wife.
“Please don’t start. I’m not in the mood for your endless questions” Alex said still deciding on what to pick.
“At least tell me who she is and why…”
“Her name is Dina Brooke AKA drunkard AKA drama queen” Alex said frustratingly, but a small smile formed on his lips as he remembered the drama Dina and Jewel performed in the cafe.
Mira didn’t fail to notice the smile on his face.
“Do you like… forget about it, why was she here?” Mira asked again
“Do you work for the FBI, because I don’t get where this endless questions are coming from”
“Alex, I…I…well the thing is I don’t just get why you both are together. Are you dating????” Mira couldn’t help but ask
“Mira…” Alex turned to face her after deciding what to put on
“Do you have feelings for me??” Alex asked narrowing his gaze as if reading her mind.
“M…E…E….E” Mira asked dragging the ‘ME’
The question was totally unexpected. She shifted uncomfortably on the bed. Alex’s gaze was still locked making her situation worse.
“Why would you ask that???” She managed to say, trying to change the topic.
“It’s just that, the questions you are asking makes me think that way” Alex said removing the cufflinks on his shirt.
Mira gulped down emptiness as she stared at Alex.
“You use to have a crush on Luke” Alex said turning to face the closet as he unbuttoned his shirt.
“Why?? Why bring that up?” Mira asked
“If you still have a crush feeling for him, get rid of it” Alex said not wanting to tell her that he found out Luke was dead.
“I don’t have feelings for him anymore” Mira said and Alex turned to face her.
Mira eyes stayed glued to his chest, his fine chiseled abs, gosh, she gulped down her spit as she wondered how it would feel in her palms. Oh, the thought of cuddling with those abs touching her…..
“Mira!!!!!” Alex called her name half yelling making her flinch
“You were lost in your own world” He said and Mira tried calming down
“Do you mind??” Alex asked
“huh??” A confused Mira, who just came back from Pluto asked
“I want to change, or should I do that in front of you?” Alex asked
“Yes, go ahead, I’m not leaving” Mira said not moving and Alex stared at her
“I guess we’ll do it the hard way then” With that said Alex picked up Mira, dropping her outside the room.
“What was she thinking?? I hope she’s not developing any feelings for me” Alex asked himself as he changed into another set of clothes.
Meanwhile outside the bedroom was Mira, smiling foolishly at the fact that she was able to feel his abs when he carried her.
*********NEXT DAY (POTTER’S COLLEGE)********
Natasha was sitting down with her minions beside her in class. She had a smile on her face. Maybe Jewel didn’t survive the accident. She just couldn’t wait to see the sorry face of Dina.
“Do you really think Jewel was cleared” Sheila asked but a glare from Natasha shut her up.
“I don’t want anything that would spoil my mood today” Natasha said as she picked a bubble gum to chew.
Sydney was unusually quiet. She asked still scared from the hot and run accident they were involved in.
“That reminds me, Sydney, I need you to do a research for me. You know, my dad is the second main investor in this college..” Natasha paused to see if Sydney was listening
“He found out that the child of the number one major investor comes to this college, so I need you to find out who that child is”
“What do you want to do with the child” Sheila asked
“I need to be friend him/her. When we become friends, it would be easier for our parents to collaborate.”
“Okay” Sheila said
“And guess what???” Natasha asked while Sheila and Sydney faced each other not knowing what might be going on in Natasha’s mind.
“My dad is coming today. so since we’ve already cleared Jewel, he’ll help clear Dina” Natasha said as a devilish smile curled her lips.
Soon they noticed students gathering by the window.
“Seems to me someone important has entered the school” Natasha said making her way to the hallway to have a better view with her two minions following her closely.
The moment she’s got out, she first saw a pair of black boots
Natasha’s mouth went agape as she slowly lifted her head
Next were a pair of fresh legs, followed by a black leather skirt and a crop top.
‘Who could this be?’ Natasha thought inwardly as she swallowed her spit, gatherings courage to see the face.
And there she was. The last person she thought of

The shocked was too much that Natasha fell on her butt…
