CHAPTER 39💔40
Fredrick drove around the village till it was evening.He couldn’t summon the courage to go to her but after a long thought he drove to the restaurant.He parked his car and took a deep breathe before going in.He looked around and was surprise to no one around and everywhere was silent except the gentle harmonies coming from a guitar.Tracing the sound,he walked into a room behind the counter.His eyes widened as he saw Mona dressed so beautifully sitting in the middle of the room as her fingers flicked on the guitar.She looked up and their eyes met
Mona played the guitar in her hands with her eyes closed as tears flowed down her face.It’s been five years since she lost her innocence to a man she can’t even identify,five years since her career crumbled and she felt nothing but agony.It all began today,everyone left her and that was why she loved being alone on this very day.She sniffed at the memory of her past
Suddenly,she felt eyes on her and she looked up to find Fredrick staring at her,the man she had come to love.She dropped the guitar and ran into his arms smiling
“I wasn’t expecting you”said Monalisa and she heard Fredrick giggle
“Am glad I came,I get to see you this hot”Fredrick said and Monalisa blushed
“Stop being naughty.Have your seat and listen to my new song”said Monalisa as she pulled out a chair for him and he sat down
She went back to her sit and held her guitar as she cleared her throat
“My music might not be as good as before so don’t complain”said Monalisa and Fredrick chuckled
“You are always the best”said Fredrick while Mona smiled in return
Mona took in a deep breath and flicked her fingers through the string of the guitar as she caught carried away in the harmonies
“In a dark cave hovering around
My identity became unknown to myself and I couldn’t define me
Where was I?
Who was I?
What was I?
I had no answers to those questions
I couldn’t console myself neither could I feel pity for myself
Blinded by the darkness,suddenly the stars shone bright
I felt salvation coming my way
My day lit up and my worries got lifted
Looking up to the light I knew it was time to bade the lonely days goodbye
I closed my eyes and felt the warmth of the light
To every bad day I have experienced,FLY AWAY
Fly away the bad moments of my life
Fly away all the pain in me
Fly away all the tears on my face
Fly away everything that makes me feel miserable
Fly away every regrets I have
Fly away every battle I have been through
Fly away to every disappointment that have come my way

Mona ended her song with teary eyes as she really wished all the pain and painful past really flew away but they still remained hunting her everyday
Fredrick looked stunned at her melodious voice but the lyrics got him guilty.He was the cause of the pain she was asking to fly away,he drew her into the darkest part of life.He stood up and approached her as he gently wiped away her tears and her eyes fluttered open.Without a second thinking,he slammed his lips on hers kissing her deeply.Who knows it might be the last kiss they ever share?
Mona opened up to Fredrick letting him take full dominance of the kiss as she melted in his arms.That one kiss soothed her hurting heart and somehow healed her wounds
Fredrick pulled away and looked deeply into her eyes.It is right time to say the truth.It was either then or never
“Am sorry,Mona.I really am.I had no choice when I did it”said Fredrick and Mona looked at him confused
“What are you sorry for?”asked Mona and Fredrick sighed
“It was me.The man who R@PED you give years ago,it is me”said Fredrick and he felt like an heavy weight was lifted off his heart.Mona stared at him with tears in her eyes as she shook her head in denial.It can’t be true,it shouldn’t be Fredrick
“You are lying,it’s not you.You would never be that cruel”said Mona as tears poured down her eyes
“It was me.I had no choice but to do it.I had to save my sister”said Fredrick and Mona stepped away from him.He could see hurt and betrayal in her eyes and he felt bad
“Why did you do it?”said Monalisa as she held her chest.It hurts alot and she felt like everything she believed in was being ripped away from her.She felt a bang on her head and it ached seriously.All her body was shaking at realization of what he was saying.He destroyed her,ruined her career and above all he stole her innocence when she was very vulnerable.
“I will explain”said Fredrick and he narrated.
