Chapter 25&26 ?
Prince Flynn stood at the window side, sitting on a tall stool, quietly inhaling the smoke of his cigarette.
There was a knock on the door. “I don’t want to see anyone.” He growled.
Looking down the window, he sights Mil and her friend which he doesn’t know her name,
walking out of the gate.
He eyed her from the top of her to the sole of her feet. Her short gown which made her look small with her hair packed in ponytail, her bag pack hung freely on the back.
She looked cute with how happy she looked, learning that she’d be going to school.
Remembering the other day….
He entered the palace gate, tired and in pains, the day he remembered her, the day he transformed and went into the woods.
He had it in mind to go into her background but something was debarring him from doing so.
Maybe he wanted to respect her privacy but he was not a kind of person to respect people’s privacy, he does what he wants anytime he wants it.
Naptha was the one that told him. “She lived in the orphanage all her life and had always dreamt of going to school, even without anyone’s help.” She explained.
He smoked. “What of her parents?” He asked.
She kept silent for a while. “I have no idea neither does anyone has. She’s totally homeless.”
He scoffed at the memory, his eyes feeling dizzy. His body still ached him as the wounds has healed but the pains could still be felt, he had refused all portions from the sorceress.
A knock again. He grunted, standing up and went to the door himself. “Good evening, my prince.” Naptha greeted.
” I thought I made it clear that no…visitor!” He scrowls.
“I’m sorry but it’s very urgent..” She says.
He scoffed, entering into the room and she saw that as an answer to her being welcomed.
He sat on the stool again. “What is it?” He asked, grunting.
Naptha looked at him. “Are you still in pains my prince?” She asked.
His eyes met with hers, showing coldness and she shivered involuntarily. “I’m here because of Milena…” She admitted.
He scoffed. “You can’t convince me Naptha.” He says, gazing out of the window again.
“It’s not about that…” she replied.
“Then, it’s about what?” He gruffed.
She breath heavily. “She’s been attacked my prince.” She stated.
He looked at her, sharply, immediately. “What do you mean? It’s her first day for Fuçk’s sake!”
“I don’t know if it has happened yet but I saw it.”
“Tell me what you saw…” He groaned.
“I saw her demon take over because of her necklace.”
“So, how’s does that relate with being attacked?” He hissed, resting his back on the window glass, thinking he was worrying unnecessarily.
“Someone knows she’s not human and also knows about her existence.”
“I made sure her scent is duely covered.”
“It’s not enough my prince. If we don’t find a way to curb it, it’ll happen and it’ll be very
disatrous.” She answered.
His breathing was rough. “How do we stop it from happening?” He asked the most obvious question.
“The necklace must not get off her neck, at least for today.” She warned.
*****
“Did you see that?” She gasped, her shirt falling to the floor as she looked around the room.
“See what?” Britt asked, finally putting on her skirt as she also looked around, placing her hands akimbo.
Milena hiccuped, fearfully. “It..I don’t know..it went just right here now.” She stuttered.
Britt rolled her eyes. “Are you seeing a vision?” She asked.
“It’s no vision, it happened here just now!” She almost yelled, so afraid.
Without waiting for Brittany to reply, she dashed out of the room with her uniform in her hands.
“Mil? Mil!” Britt yelled after her but she was gone. She sighed, looking around the room and finally exited it.
Maggie was sitting on one of the chairs, looking at the girl’s docvment on her table.
“Arhh!…” Milena burst in, panting.
Maggie stood up immediately. “Are you alright?” She asked, patting her back and led her to sit.
Britt comes in. “What happened to her?” Maggie asks.
Britt sighed. “I don’t know. I don’t understand too. She only asked me if I saw something she saw…” Britt explained.
Maggie brings out a bottle of water from her refrigerator and gave to Milena. “Something she saw?” She asked, wondering what really happened.
She patted her for sometime and sat down beside her.” You will be fine dear. Can you tell mewhat you saw?” She asked.
Milena suddenly looked up at them. “I don’t know. It seems…I can’t remember!” She said, lowly.
Britt and Maggie gasped. “What do you mean? It happened just now!” Maggie says while Britt squints her eyes at her friend.
“I said I can’t remember!” Mil yelled.
Britt gawked, rushing to her. “Mil, wake up! You have to remember Mil…” She shakes her aggressively.
Mil breathe out roughly. “I said, I can’t remember!” She growled in anger.
Brittany’s eyes widened, her eyes looking more intensely at Milena. “Her Necklace..her necklace, Maggie!” Britt yelled, rushing out of the room.
“What necklace?” Maggie was panicking now as Milena’s behavior has changed.
She has disheveled her hair and it was now looking like a nest, her fingers were now long as she gnashed her teeth in anger – Maggie watched in amazement and fear, she has never encountered something like this before.
Hurriedly, Britt rushed into the changing room with Maggie running after her like a lost kitten.
The door opened, revealing the male clerk. “Connor?” Maggie called but he didn’t even spare her any glance.
“What are you doing here?” Britt asked, panting and peeping into the changing room.
“I happened to be walking around here and met the door opened. Upon entering, the room was empty.” He explained.
Britt eyed him, suspiciously. “You didn’t see any creature or something weird there?” She asked.
“Creature? No, my lady.” He answered.
Maggi looked at them, surprisingly. “My lady?” She asked.
“But I found this…” He raised a certain necklace, ignoring her question.
Brittany’s eyes dimmed, seeing the necklace. She snatched it from him, running back to Maggie’s office.
Maggie turned to follow her but stopped again, facing Connor. “Connor, what’s wrong?” She asked, looking into his eyes
.
He simply didn’t look at her and walked the opposite way. She gasped surprisingly, watching his back as he left.
Maybe he’s doing this because of the presence of the girls – She shrugged, waving it off.
Maggie ran to her office, upon entering, she met everywhere scattered, like a gorilla came into the place. “What the hell happened?” She gasped.
Some of her files were torn and poured on the floor, the locker which was locked is now wide open, the students school uniforms were all trampled upon on the floor, all the fruits in her refrigerator were all gone – In the name of the heavens!
She walked closer to Britt, noticing that she wasn’t saying anything, just like her legs were been rooted to the ground. “What’s wrong?” She touched her.
Britt flinched greatly. “She’s…gone.” She whispered, her hands forming a fist with the edges of the necklace, hurting her hands.
“Gone? To where? She doesn’t even know anywhere in the school.” Maggie asked.
“I don’t know okay? It’ll be disastrous if she steps her foot into any of the classes.” She yelled.
“Why? Is it that serious? And what’s the necklace for?” She asked.
“This…?” She raised the necklace up.
“It’s meant to protect her always and now, it’s off her neck. She has to put it on back, I need to get her.” She ran to the door again.
Maggie held her back. “Is she a zombie? A wolf or demon…or even a vampire? Those blood sucking creatures?” She asked, fearfully.
Britt almost laughed at her silliness. “We will get to know later but now, we have to find her.” She ran out of the door.
“We??” Maggie holds the hem of her skirt, nervously.
“You can stay if you want but I have to find my friend.” She left Maggie hanging.
She thought for a second and dashed out after her. “Wait for me! We should go together…” She yelled, holding her skirt.
She fell down multiple times because of her tight skirt. “You don’t even know the way.” She yelled again, panting.
Britt stopped immediately, searching for the way. “She couldn’t have gone far…” she muttered.
Maggie caught up with her, breathing heavily. “You can’t even participate in a racing competition.” Britt mocked.
“You don’t talk to your elders that way.” She glared at her.
“You can’t be older than me..” Britt says.
“You are only twenty and I am twenty four…” She flipped her hair, backwards.
Brittany scoffed. “What’s the difference?” She asked.
“Pfft! A whole four years girl…”
She rolled her eyes. “Sorry aunty…” She laughed.
Their laughter ceased, hearing a loud scream. Britt looked around and headed northwards.
They ran as fast as they could, tracing the screaming voice. “Which way is this?” Britt asked.
“The way to the only field in the school.” She replied.
Britt stopped abruptly, her eyes widening while Maggie’s mouth parted open in shock at the sight they saw on getting to the field.
Milena was no more Milena. Britt could recognize her as her demon but this time, the demon was different with black lines drawing from the corner of her mouth to her ears and all around her nose like thick veins.
