“Are you okay?”Louis asked as he quickly went to her.
“Am fine. It’s just the cramps. They come and go”She said as she tried to walk only to feel more pain.
“This won’t do”Louis said as he carried her in his arms.
“What are you doing?”She managed to ask.
“You are as pale as a ghost and apart from the cramps. You are having a fever”He said as he began to walk with her to the house.
“It’s no big deal. I can handle this on my own. So just put me down”Rose said and he stopped to stare at her.
“You aren’t feeling well Rose and besides you need care and that’s what you are going to get”He said and that made her shut up.
Louis took her to his room and ordered the maid to get a doctor. The doctor came on time and gave her some drug to use. She fell asleep while he stayed by her side taking care of her.
Rose woke up two hours later feeling a bit better. Her eyes widened when she saw how late it was. Her mom will be worried, she thought as she pulled back the sheets wanting to leave.
“Stay right there!” On hearing Louis voice. She looked up to see him standing by the window.
“Am meant to be back home. It’s late”She said.
“I already called your sister and she gave you the permission. She made it clear to me that I shouldn’t send you back home until your monthly visitor leaves”He said.
“Who does she think she is? Am going home” Rose said as she tried to stand up but he moved towards her and pushed her back on the bed while he layed his hand on her stomach.
“What are you doing?”She asked as she pushed his hand away while her cheeks grew all red.
“This is not the right time for you to move around. Just stay here and…..”
“No! I want to go home”Rose insisted.
“Stop being stubborn and listen to me. The doctor wants you to get…… ”
“I tried Louis and am still trying but you acting this way is confusing”She said suddenly.
“What are you talking about?” He asked.
“You told me to get rid of my feelings for you and that’s what am working on but you acting this way is confusing me “She said.
“Rose I…..”
“I need time Louis. Give me more time and I will go back to being your friend”She said as she held back the tears that threatened to spill.
“I have been doing my best to get rid of this feeling and that is why I didn’t visit or call you. If you want us to go back to being friends then please grant me this request”She said and when he didn’t reply. She got out of the bed. Moving past him but he pulled her back.
“Am sorry. I didn’t know that it was so hard for you. Let me call the driver to take you home”He offered and she nodded.

“Organising a school trip is so tiring” Martin said as he walked into their personal room at school.
“You offered to be in charge of it. So deal with it”Peter taunted him and he retaliated by throwing a pillow at him.
“Did you do what I ask you to do?” Louis asked Martin.
“I did as you told me. I think she will be told by now that she is attending the school trip”Martin replied.
“Who?” Peter asked.
“Rose. Louis payed for her so she could attend the school trip”Martin returned.
“I doubt that she will happy about the decision you made”Peter said
“Why do you think so?”Louis asked.
“She made it clear to me that she prefer working and earning money than to go on a trip where spoilt rich brats will be” Peter returned.
“She has no choice. She will just have to go”Louis replied.
After the talk he had with her on Saturday. He had decided to give her the time she required. They had stayed out of her way at school and at home and though he had promised himself to wait for her until she come to him first. He is regretting his decision.
It’s been three days and yet she hasn’t even called him. So he decided to have her attend the trip. After all she is his cure and he needed her around if he were to attend too.
“I think he is here “Martin said suddenly.
“Who?”Louis and Peter asked.
“Yu si Feng” Martin replied.
“Who is that?” Louis and Peter asked again.
“Well he is the neighbouring school kid. Remember that their school will also be accompanying us on this trip and as he is the one organising it. I invited him over to finalise the whole thing. He is here now” Martin said as he went to open the door to let a Chinese kid who is the same age as the three of them in.
“Hello. Am Yu si Feng. Pardon my pronunciation. Am still not good at English” He said introducing himself.
While Peter and Martin gave him their attention. Louis clearly ignored him.
Martin and Yu si was still going over things when the door burst open and Rose walked in looking angry.
“I thought I made it clear that I don’t want to go to this school trip!” She yelled at them.
“I told you she wouldn’t like it”Peter said.
“Am just following Louis order”Martin replied.
“My God! She is really beautiful” the Chinese kid said earning a look from Louis.
The others didn’t understand what he said because he had said it in Chinese. But having studied several languages. Louis could understand and he didn’t like what the Chinese kid said or how he was looking at Rose.
