Chapter Twenty nine & Thirty
“I just asked a question? What’s going on here?” Rose asked and quickly the two lovers pulled away from each other.
“Hello ma’am. I am Louis and am …..” Louis stopped when Rose hit him to keep quiet.
“He is a friend of mine. I will be sure to introduce him to you later on but as of now. He has to go because he has somewhere to be”Rose said as she pulled Louis towards his car. Urging him to go in and it wasn’t until his car was gone that she went towards her mom.
“A friend? Are you sure about that?” Her mother asked as they went to the house.
“He is not a friend mom. Am dating him”Rose said truthfully.
“Rosaline!”Her mother called using her full name and that always happen whenever she was angry about something.
“Am not a child mom. Am of the age where am attracted to someone and Louis turns out to be that person. You should trust me on this. I will never do something that will destroy the principle you’ve instilled in us”Rose said softly.
“But still….”
“Let’s not argue about this. I love Louis a lot and I won’t be breaking up with him just because you say so and just so you know that have not been distracted from my studies. Am studying really hard for the upcoming exam. You will see the result when I pass in flying colours. So don’t worry mom. Everything will be fine”She said and went up to her room.
“Have you known about her relationship with that kid?”Rose mother asked Bella who had been serving the customers.
“She just started dating him recently”Bella replied as she arranged the cups.
“He seems like a bum to me” She said looking worried.
“A bum. He is no bum. Didn’t you see the car he was driving?”Bella asked.
“He might have rented it” She replied unconvinced.
“We should be the one considering ourselves lucky mom. Rose hit a jack pot and he is the jackpot. His family is very rich. You should do some research about it and besides Rose new work place is his house. No need to fret. She is not doing anything bad there with him. Just working as she should. So stop worrying” Bella said as she went off to serve a customer.
THE NEXT DAY
Rose walked into Louis bedroom to still find him asleep. Its a Saturday and while a lot of people have woken up to start the day. He is still asleep at one in the afternoon.
“Young master. It’s early afternoon young master. “Rose called like the dutiful employee she is.
“Get out” he said as he turned the pillow over his head.
Did he just tell her to get out. She thought as she held back her anger.
“You need to get up young master or all the maid will have to pay for your doing”Rose said again.
“I don’t care. Just leave me alone to sleep” he said throwing a pillow at her.
Totally annoyed by his behaviour. She went into his large bathroom to take a bit of water. Heading back to his bed. She poured the water right on his head. He got out of bed yelling out.
“What was that for?”He asked as he wiped the water off his face.
“To wake you up dear master. Seems like your sleep is more important than the maids who are working their butt off and your girlfriend also happens to be amongst them”Rose said.
“I slept late last night and I thought you were someone else” he replied as he the water trickled over his hair making it stand out.
Rose forgot all about her anger and began to laugh due to the way his hair stood out.
“You did that on purpose right?”He asked.
“Yes I did” she said as she poked out her tongue at him.
“Wait till I get a hold of you” he said as he moved towards her but Rose was out of his room even before he crossed the bed.
Still thinking about what happened earlier. Rose stood in the kitchen picking some veggies while she smiled to herself.
A pair of arms moved around her, trapping her against the counter.
“What are you doing Louis?”She asked as she tried to pull away from him.
“It’s pay back time” Louis said as he pulled her towards him to kiss her.
“Someone might see us”Rose said trying to pull away but he only tightened his hold.
“Most of the maids are out tending to the garden and some are in my room looking for something I misplaced. So it’s just you and me”He replied.
“I bet that they wouldn’t be able to look for anything because you never misplaced anything”Rose said smiling up at him.
“You sure are right”He said as he began kissing her again and just then they heard someone calling out for Lily.
Immediately Louis pulled her into the storage room where they both stood cramped while they waited for the intruder to leave.
A fellow maid walked into the kitchen and when there was no sign of anyone, she left .
Rose let out a sigh of relief as soon as the maid left.
“That was a close one”She muttered as she was cramped by Louis who stood silent starring at her.
“What’s wrong?”She asked
“How long will we keep on doing this?”He asked looking a bit frustrated.
“I h@të hiding the fact that am dating you. We’ve told everyone at school. Why not do it here too and you shouldn’t have stopped me from telling your mom last night. Feels like you enjoy us hiding all the time” Louis added when she said nothing.
“I don’t enjoy it and for the record I told my mom who you were after you left”She returned.
“Really! Then why did you stop me from doing so myself?”He asked.
“It’s because she was angry. And whenever mom is angry. She tends to be rude. I didn’t want her being rude to you. I don’t like the fact that we have to hide our relationship from people too”She said as she wrapped her arms around him.
“Do you think your mom will like me?”Louis asked.
“Once you show her how much you love me. Then you can easily win her heart”Rose replied.
“That’s good then but first thing is first. What if I show you how much I love you?”He asked having a mischievous look on his face.
“Start me showing me”She replied as she stood on tiptoe to kiss him while he pulled her close and unknown to them Rose mother stood outside the mansion starring at the place and also wondering how she will be able to get the info she needed.

“Where are we going Bella? We’ve been walking for a while now” Rose asked as Bella kept pulling her along the street.
“Stop complaining and come with me” Bella replied.
“Complaining? Sunday is the day I get to relax but thanks to someone I will be having a hard time doing that” Rose said.
“How can you think of relaxing. Don’t you know what today is?” Bella asked.
“What’s happening today?”Rose asked as she stopped by the road side.
“You will know soon. Make sure you don’t ruin your make up. Goodbye sis”Bella said as she took to her heels. Waving her sister off.
“What game are you playing at!”Rose shouted after her and would have if the arms around her hadn’t stop her.
“Good morning darling”Louis greeted from behind and she turned to him.
“What are you doing here? Don’t tell me that you planned this with my sis” She asked with a smile on her face.
“I did and that’s because today Is a special day”He said as he led her to the car.
“Where are we going?”She asked.
“To a restaurant that I book”He replied.
“But this is something that I have not prepared for” Rose said as she stared at her dress.
“Bella did a fine job and your gorgeous enough and besides you haven’t told me what I want to hear”He said.
“What’s that?” She asked wondering what he is talking about.
“Don’t tell me you don’t know what today is?”He asked.
“I don’t. Is something happening today?”she asked as she watched his face turn into a sad one.
“It’s nothing. I just want your company”He replied as he opened the door for her.
A while later he ushered her into a well known restaurant.
“This place must be expensive.”Rose said as they both walk in.
“It is but it wouldn’t count if it belongs to me right?”He asked as she stared at him.
“Don’t look so shocked. There are much bigger ones than this” Louis said as a waiter appeared. Taking them to their table.
“There is no one here. Did you book the entire place?” Rose asked and he nodded.
Just then a chef came towards them beaming a smile at them.
“It’s so good to see you here Louis. Just as you have asked. The dishes are ready and all waiting to be served”
“Thank you Fernando. This is Rose, my girlfriend. I chose well right? ” Louis said introducing her to the chef who beamed her a smile.
“You certainly chose well” Fernando returned admiring Rose beauty.
“Thank you”Rose said, blushing a bit.
“Now let me go and bring the food and before I forget. Happy birthday Louis” Fernando said before heading to the kitchen.
“Birthday? Today is your birthday?”Rose asked and he nodded.
“That’s why you said today is special. I should have guessed. Am such a fool”Rose gently hitting her head.
“It’s okay. Its not something that important that you…..”
“What do you mean by its not important? It is important to me. How could I forget your birthday?”She asked feeling bad.
“Hey. It’s okay. Let’s just eat “He said but she knew he was a bit sad about it. She would have been angry if he had forgotten a important day like this.
A while later. Louis returned from the rest room only to find Rose gone.
“Where is she?”he asked the waitress who came to pack up.
“Well she is….she is in the kitchen”the waitress said.
“Why?”Louis asked.
“I think you should come see it yourself”She replied and Louis followed only to see Rose baking a cake with the help of Fernando.
“We told her not to worry but she insisted on making it”The waitress said as she left to do her thing while Louis stood by the door way watching her baking him a cake.
