Chapter Thirty one & two
“Have you seen Rose?”
“Do you know if Rose is in her class?”
“Is Rose in the library?”
“Do you know if Rose is on the cleaning Rooster for today?”
Louis asked the students he met as he walked about searching for Rose.
Ever since he arrived at school, he hasn’t seen her and his calls and texts weren’t being returned.
If Peter hadn’t told him that he saw her in the morning. He would have thought that she didn’t come at all.
He was about calling her again when a junior student walk up to him.
“If you are still looking for Rose. I saw her at the science lab just now” the junior said and immediately Louis thanked her as he ran off in search of Rose. He got to the Science lab only to find no one there.
On the other hand. Rose hid under a desk as she waited to hear the science lab door close and when it finally did. She sighed in relief.
She has been moving from one room to another just so Louis won’t find her. She knew that he didn’t deserve what she was doing but she couldn’t do it. She couldn’t bring herself to break up with him. Just the thought of doing that horrified her.
“Are we playing hide and seek?”A voice said suddenly and she looked up to see Louis crouching in front of her. She yelled out an ARRGH!!! as she fell back on her @$$.
“Did I scare you?”He asked as he help her up.
“No”She replied
“Why were you hiding from me?”He asked and quickly she thought of an excuse.
“That’s because am studying.Having you close by will certainly be a distraction”She lied.
“That’s mean! I can also be of help.” He said as he pulled her close.
“Do you know how worried have been looking for you? I thought something bad happened”He said as he pushed a strand of hair away from her face.
Now is the right time to tell him about it. She has to break things off with him before it becomes messier
“Louis i …..”
“Your wearing the necklace. It suits you”He said interrupting her while he fingered the necklace he gave her.
“Do you know why I made this necklace? It’s for you to always keep me close at heart”He added.
“That’s being cheesy” Rose said as she smiled up at him.
“It might sound cheesy to you but it mean a lot to me. This necklace will scare off anyone who looks your way because you are mine”He said jokingly
“Yours? I doubt that”She added teasingly as she pulled out of his arms while he followed suit.
Somehow her conversation with Louis made her forget what was important. Just for this moment. She will put off telling him. Just for this moment.
A while later she head out of school.Making sure Louis isn’t around to stop her.
He had told her to go home together with him but she didn’t want that. Just the thought of being close when she would soon break his heart hurt her so much.
She would go to his house first and quit and after that. She would break up with him. Having thought that through.
She got to the school entrance. Heading for the bus station when someone pulled her bag out of her arm.
“I thought you said you will be leaving with me?”He asked.
“I shouldn’t get used to you and…..”
“You didn’t complain about it yesterday”He said interrupting her.
“That was because I just thought about it now. I shouldn’t rely too much on you and …. What are you doing?” She asked as he began to walk off with her bag.
“Going to get my car. If you want your bag then follow me”He said and having no other choice. She went with him.
It was early evening when she finally told Mrs Brad about her quitting. Mrs Brad was quite surprised and flustered and no matter what she said to change Rose mind . She didn’t succeed.
Rose walked out of the maid quaters only to see Louis waiting for her.
“I will give you a lift home”He said wanting to take her bag from her but she pulled away from him.
“What’s wrong?”He asked.
“After what my mom did yesterday. Your still willing to take me home?”Rose asked.
“I get that she was angry and that’s why have decided to go see her and tell her that my feelings for you is not just a child’s play”He said making Rose h@të what was about to come but she hardened her heart as she stared at him.
“There is no need for that”She said.
“Why?”Louis asked
“There won’t be a need for you to talk to her because we won’t be in a relationship “Rose said and he took in her words, trying to understand them before asking.
“What do you mean?”
“Let’s break up Louis!”She said saying out the word that she dreaded all day.
“You must be joking right?”He asked.
“Am not joking. I want to break up with you”She said diving the knife into his heart.
“But why? Why do you suddenly want to break up with me?”He asked.
“It’s because I realised that am not happy and my not being happy is because I don’t love you”She said as she fought back the tears.
“What has gotten over you?”He asked as he took hold of her shoulders.
“I don’t love you Louis. I never did. All I wanted was a little fling with a rich kid and though you met up to my expectation. It just isn’t what I want ”
“Lies! Stop lying and tell me why you are acting like this?”He asked but she pushed his hands away.
“This isn’t acting. This is reality and the reality is that I don’t love you! I just wanted a fling and ……”
“Shut up Rose! Shut up with the lies!”He yelled at her.
“It’s not a lie Louis. I don’t love you. I never did and so…..so let’s stop wh@tëver is going between us. I already quit and so I hope that nothing will bring us close again”She said as she left his house and also leaving him standing there.
“Won’t you tell me what’s going on?”Bella asked Rose who layed under the covers of her bed. Crying her heart out.
“Did you break up with Louis?”Bella asked and when Rose failed to answer. She left the room leaving Rose to her misery.
Rose picked up her phone hoping to see a missed call or two from him but there was nothing and it made her more depressed.
She was about to put the covers over herself again when Bella rushed into the room.
“Come down stairs Rose”She called happily.
“For what?”
“He is out side. So come down stairs”Bella urged and on hearing that. Rose rushed downstairs only to see Louis standing by his car waiting for her.
Didn’t he know that coming here to see her is something risky. Luckily her mother wasn’t home. She thought as she hid her feeling of happiness at seeing him.
“What do you want?”She asked she got to where he was.
“To talk”He replied.
“Have said everything that I want to…..what are you doing?”She shouted as he took hold of her hand and pulled her into the car while he got in next to her to drive off.
“Stop this car Louis!”She yelled at him but he didn’t pay her any attention and it wasn’t until he got to his house that he stopped the car.
“Why did you bring me back here?”She asked as he once again took hold of her hand. Pulling her into the mansion.
“Your back again? Are you here to work again?” Mrs Brad asked as she met them on her way out.
“Rose isn’t here to work. She is here as my girlfriend and am hoping that no one would disturb us” Louis said as he left Mrs Brad speechless while he pulled Rose up to his room. Bolting the door after they got in.
“Look Louis! I don’t know what you are up to but this isn’t…..”
“Shut up Rose! You’ve had your say a while ago. Now it’s my turn”He said as he towered over her looking very angry.
“You saying you don’t love me is all lie! Something happened with your mom yesterday. Just what did she tell you?”He asked.
“Nothing. My mom told me nothing. I just decided to tell you the…..”She stopped as he hit the wall over her head.
“Truth! Why don’t I believe a thing you say? All the time you’ve been with me was the truth. Your eyes shone with your love for me and this! “he said touching the necklace on her throat.
“If you really don’t feel a thing. You would have pulled it off but it’s still close to your heart. So you are lying Rose and I won’t let you leave until you tell me the truth!”He added angrily.
“You can’t make me stay!” She yelled as she tried to pull away from him but he pulled her back.
“Really? Watch how I achieve that!”He said as he kissed her.
She tried pulling away from him but he only deepened the kiss. She knew he was kissing to tame her and though she tried to resist. She couldn’t stop herself from reacting to his kiss.
Still kissing her. He moved with her towards his bed until they were both laying on it.
He stopped kissing her to stare at her. “If those things you said were the truth then you wouldn’t be kissing me with so much passion”He said as he kissed her again.
He stared at her as if asking for her permission and when she pulled his head down to her. She gave him the permission he wanted.
She has only read about this stuff in novel and have always wondered if it would be the same in reality but Louis showed her that it was different.
He was kind, generous and giving to her when they made love. Rose layed in his arms a while later. She was still thinking about the whole thing when he spoke.
“You love me just as much as I love you. Tell me what’s going on and we can work on it together. Don’t push me away” he said and she pulled out of his arms to stare at him.
“You really want to know?”Rose asked and he nodded.
“Turns out that my father killed your father”
