“You’re the Mr Paulo?” A lady smiled and brought her hand forward.

“Yes” Kev smiled, and held her stretched which he pecked.
Cindy stared.
“Oh my. You look younger and handsome than I heard you to be” The lady chuckled.
“And this is…your wife?” The lady smiled, looking at Cindy.
“Yes…She’s my beloved wife, Mrs Lina” Kev held her close to his side by her shoulder and her eyes blinked, a hundred times.
“Nice to meet you, Mrs Lina” The lady said, and pecked the 2 sides of Cindy’s cheeks.
“I’m Mrs Sarah and this is my husband, Sean” The lady introduced.
“Huh…” Cindy whispered.
“She said,,, She’s Mrs Sarah and that her husband, Sean” Kev whispered against her ear.
His lips touched her ear and her whole body vibrated.
“Oh” She whispered and shrugged herself off from him.
“Nice to meet you, Mrs Lina” Sean held her hand up and kissed it.
“What’s this?” Cindy spoke in Korean.
“Let’s go. My wife needs fresh air. Have fun” Kev waved at them and they left.
“Why did you kiss that lady’s hand? Why did her husband do that to me too? Her wife even kissed the sides of my face” Cindy said, and touched her cheeks.

He gave one glass to Cindy who drank it slowly.
“Actually,,, Thats how they greet or comfort people. Thats all I know” He muttered, drinking his wine.
Cindy blinked at him and looked at him deeply. She swallowed hard when she remembered the girl who she saw crying. Kev had pecked her hand also.
Kev finished the glass, looked at her and caught her staring at him. She didn’t still take her moody eyes away.
“What’s it? Is there something on my face?” He asked touching it.
“No…” She shook her head.
“Kev?” She suddenly called.
“Hmm?” He responded.
“Once,,, I saw you in the hospital. You came to visit someone. Or was I wrong?” Cindy whispered.
Kev looked up briefly.
“Oh…Harley? Why didn’t you say ‘hi’ when you saw me?”
“I…didn’t know it was you. Sorry” She lied.
He nodded.
“Its fine. That day, I came to your office but they said you were on duty. I didn’t want to disturb you”
Cindy licked her lower lip.
“Kev?” She whispered.
“Huh?” He looked at her.
“Who’s Harley?” He asked.
“She’s my student. She’s actually from France” He chuckled.
“She can speak Korean too” He added.
Cindy inhaled deeply.
“What happened to her? Why was she admitted to R-breeds?” She asked.
“She…suffered from domestic violence from her mum. I always comfort her when these things happen. But don’t worry,,, Harley and her mother are in good terms now…thanks to me” Kev smiled, pointing at his chest.
“What to do. I really misunderstood him…Because of my act,,, my feelings for him went away just like that” She thought. Her eyes were already wet.
“What’s wrong? Your eyes…Do you wanna cry?” He asked, surprised.
She sniffed and shook her head.
Kev sighed in relief.
“I’m sorry” She suddenly whispered.
“What?” He looked at her, puzzedly. His brows raised.
“I’m really sorry” She whispered.
“Why?” He asked.
“For everything…” She whispered and suddenly hugged him.
Kev swallowed hard.

“Finally! We got it!” Cindy chuckled, raising the painting high.
She noticed the quietness and looked at Kev who was deep in thoughts and very far away.
“Kev? What’s wrong? Kev?? You o-
“Cindy?” He quickly looked at her.
“Huh?” She asked.
“I keep thinking about it” He rushed his words.
“What?” She blinked her eyes away.
“The hug. Why did you hug me then out of the blue? Why were you sorry?”
She blinked gently and nervously, then kept the painting at the back.
“Actually,,, I saw you with Harley then. I thought you both were dating cause you kissed her hand. I was jealous and angry. It caused my feelings for you to wither…I’m sorry for misunderstanding you. I hugged you cause I was just emotional”
Kev smirked.
“Actually,,, Cindy…I like you. I always liked you. Ever since, Malcolm introduced you to me. When you smiled at me the first time, I felt my heart beat differently. I’m really in love with you, Cindy. If you can give your heart one more chance to beat back,, for me…. I’ll gladly love it”

Mr Chadwick bursted in. He was fuming.
“Where’s he?! He hasn’t even been picking my calls! Malcolm gotta explain all this mess he created and he had better clean it up” He ranted.
Oliver and Ken who was seated walked to him. Rhoda just sat down on the sofa, still.
“Where’s he?! Aren’t you his so called girlfriend?” Mr Chadwick barked.
Ariana, Oliver and Ken sighed deeply.
