“Lila?”he called in disbelief as he stood still at a spot, relieved of his grief and the same time shocked.
Lila stood still upon hearing his voice and a tear slipped down her cheek.
“Lannon?”she sniffled.
He was finally able to move from the spot he stood as he moved close to her just to be sure it wasn’t because he missed her so much, that he saw her. There she was, flesh and whole. He didn’t even think a second, he pulled her into a tight hug.
“Lila?” His voice quivered. For so long in his life, he felt a new type of emotion as he hugged her that he didn’t even know when a tear slipped out of his eyes.
The weak girl hugged him tightly. She didn’t want to let go. She wanted to stay in his arms forever. She missed him, she loved him. She didn’t know how all these happened, was it the time they made out, or the first time he let her see her mother, or when she got jealous at the gala. She just loved him and she didn’t care how it happened.
They both hugged, forgetting the presence of Lila’s mum. They deeply immersed in each other’s warmth, embrace and passion.
“Oh my God!! Lila is that you?!” That was Sam’s scream. The worried girl who had cried so much.
Lila disengaged from Lannon’s hug immediately as she turned look at her best friend.
“Sam” she cried out happily and in a second, Sam ran to her, hugging her ever tightly.
“Oh my God!”Sam cried”You had me worried”she sniffled.
“I know, I know” Lila cried more.
It was a moment of reuniting for a family, for two lovers, and two bestfriends.
They both cried happily in joy and even though Lila smelled so badly no one bothered about it.
“Miss Steele?”Sam cried the more upon seeing Lila’s Mum.
“It’s Ivory Sam”Lila’s mum corrected as she h@tëd the fact she still had to be addressed by Dave’s name.
Sam moved to her and held her hand, smiling bitterly “I saw everything and I’m so sorry Ivory. We couldn’t even find a clue, I’m sorry” she cried before hugging her tightly but they were suddenly interrupted by loud thud sound. They all turned immediately and found Lila on the ground almost lifeless. She had slumped and passed out.

When Lila woke up it was already morning. After five days horrible days, she finally woke up on something comfortable, she didn’t wake to water being poured on her and she could finally smile. She sat up on the bed she laid on and leaned her back to the bedsupport. Her hand was fixed to a drip and she knew she needed it. Though, she still felt weak and her whole body sore, she was glad she was finally away from those brutal people who had almost killed her. Come to think of it, it was such a miracle she had escaped. She sighed as she felt her stomach rumble then, the door opened and Sam walked in with a tray of food. Her mouth watered.
“Please eat everything!” Sam instructed as she placed the tray on the bed slowly.
Lila only smiled knowing fully well that she was going to finish every eatable thing on the plate. There were fruits and food.
Sam sat on the couch few metres away from the bed and she watched Lila eat the food enthusiastically. It didnt take much time, berore she cleared the tray and beldged happily, making Sam almost puking, she grinned sheepishly before taking the tray away from the bed.
There was a brooding silence as Sam stared at her and made her feel nervous, she was uncomfortable.
Till Sam finally spoke,
“What the hell happened out there Lila?”she asked, her voice very soothing. “We couldn’t find you. We were so afraid. How did you escape?”
Lila coughed nervously and gulped nothing down her throat as she fought the tears that threatened to leave her eyes. It was a terrible experience she didn’t want to remember but she still spoke “I…..I…..I was….this guy…..he…
he…..he……”She stuttered.
“Lila, you don’t have to…”Sam felt guilty for bothering her. But she shook her head and continued
“There was this guy, Lannon had….had assigned to be my bodyguard. When I had gone to the hospital’s restroom that day, he….he… kidnapped me. First I was taken to a train rail station, till I was finally taken to an old gusty warehouse” she sighed as a tear trickled down her cheek and she wiped it off.
“Lila….”Sam tried to stop but she shook her head.
“There was this man, he sounded so much like my father. Maybe I was just hallucinating cause I missed him so much” she sniffed, suddenly laughing pathetically. “Am I going crazy Sam?”she cried
Sam shook her head in pain. She didn’t want Lila to know her dad was still alive. It would be so much pain.
“That was probably all in your head Lila about your dad.” She cooed and stood up. “Rest Lila. When you wake again, I want you to be far better than now”she smiled sincerely.
“What about my mum?” she asked
Sam nodded” she’s resting”
“And Lannon?”Lila hesitated before asking.
“Taking care of a business. He will be with you soon.” She finally said before leaving the room.
Lila couldn’t lay back on the bed unless she was going to have a tummy ache cause she ate so much. So she just sat on the bed staring into space wondering how Lannon would have felt about her disappearance and the way he had hugged her the previous night, it was so unusual, so comforting and yet very normal.
She recalled how she struggled in that lonely warehouse and tears filled her eyes. That was a experience that will have to stick with her for her rest days on earth. Tears slipped from her eyes then, she heard the creak sound of the door and Lannon walked in. She blinked back her tears and tried to hope that it was all reality. That it was really Lannon she was seeing. She missed him so much. How she came to love him, she didn’t even know. She wasn’t angry that he didn’t come save her, she was especially glad that he didn’t even come. Who knew, they might have killed him.
A sigh escaped her lips when he came towards her on the bed and held her cheek.
“I’m sorry”she began. Too many emotions welled up in her, she didn’t know how to express it. “I’m sorry I ran away Lannon. I should didn’t listene to you. I was just so jealous, i thought it was best I stayed away from you.” She whimpered. “I believe you Lannon. I believe you” she cried.
