Finally they had finished with their long make out bath and had dressed casually.
Lannon took her out and though she wasn’t really in the mood for outing she enjoyed every minute she spent with Lannon. It was like nothing had happened the previous night beacuse everything was just so normal.
They visited the amusement park, toured the zoo and went fishing. It was so much fun for Lila. She also had lot of ice cream she could probably puke because she was over fed. While she was having fun, Lannon was thinking.
He knew he had to make this day such a memorable one and the only way he could do it was to propose to her. Yes, that was the only way. He had actually planned to do that, but he wasn’t really planning it so soon but on the turn of events he knew he had to act quicker.
When Lila stood on a long queue to get more ice creams, he excused himself and made a very brief but detailed phone call. He knew nothing about romance but he was going to try his best for her sake. So he told his most trusted guard to prepare a very romantic proposal arena before dusk. That was the only way, he could make Lila happy. He wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.
When he got back to meet Lila, he couldn’t find her on the queue again. He panicked immediately as his heart beat increased and then he felt a hand tap him from behind and he turned, it was Lila. He let out a sigh of relief seeing her holding two cones of ice cream and staring at him curiously
“Where were you?”she asked.
“I had to take care of something”he replied cusorily. For so long in his life he was so nervous and it was because he had found love.
“Sure?”she asked and he quickly nodded and held her hand.
“C’mon we still have so much to do”he smiled.
She followed him because she on her own part also wanted to make him happy. She tried her best to forget about last night for the sake of him and it was going quite well.
They still had so much to do so they had a horse race of which they lost. They took a brief walk down the popular couple street in Florida and had their names padlocked in the memory rail of the street. They were in love.
Once it was evening, Lannon was sure all the preparation were ready since the guard had sent him a picture of the arena and he himself loved it.
He took her to a tall building and they walked in and took a stairs that led to the roof top. Lila was suprised at how beautiful the arena was lit. There was a table at the far end where two chairs were set. On the table was a candle lit with rose littered on the surface of the table covered in a beauriful satin table cover. A space was left for food to be served on the surface. A red carpet laid by their feets and slowly the walked through it till it led them to the table.
Lila smile genuinely. She was glad, it was their official first date.
“When did you prepare all these Lannon?”she asked emotionally. She was happy she Lannon found her. She was glad she fell in love with him.
“You like it?”he asked.
She shook her head”I love it”she cried and then she hugged him.”Thank you so much. For everything”
He hugged her back, patting her hair and then be whispered”we just got started Lila”he said.
He pulled out a chair for her and she sat while he went and sat on his own.
A waiter rolled in a trolley of food and Lila cringed her brows in surprise.
“Where did he come from?”she asked cause when they walked through the building earlier, it was totally empty. Just a stairs on which they passed through. So, she was wondering.
“I can surprise you more if you want”he laughed and she smiled by his cheesy joke.
They had a sumptuous meal and Lila was over fed because she’d already stucked her stomach with ice cream. She was definitely going to purge.
“I want to tell you a story”Lannon suddenly said and she nodded excitedly.
“There was this boy,”he began, his eyes twinkling “when he lost his parents, he thought he would never survive again. He wished for death but his uncle came into his life and braced him up and he chose killing for a living.”
“Is this a story Lannon?”she interrupted him seeing that he was telling about himself but not sure why he did so.
“Please listen”he smiled and she nodded. “So when he saved and helped this girl, she was stubborn and rigid and brave and dull. He wasn’t sure what to do with her for she had always had a perfect Lila”he chuckled.
“I was not dull!”she sulked, pouting angrilly at him.
He laughed”you were!”he stated and she pouted the more.
“So,..”He continued “the first day they made out, he wasn’t sure what he felt for her but he probably wanted to get rid of those feeling. Was it love, was it desire? Till, she got kidnapped and he had to sort his feeling. He knew he had to do anything to save her and he knew he’d come to love her. He wanted to keep her for himself. Wanted to have her as his. She…..”
“Lannon…..”She cut him off with misty eyes.
“This is not the time to cry Lila”he chuckled as he stared at her and then he stood and moved to her and took to a kneeling position.
Lila knew what was coming next and she was so overwhelmed, she couldn’t hide back her tears of joy, she let it flow.
“I know how sad you are about your dad Lila. But I promise to make you happy. I promise to be by your side forever.”He said and brought out a ring case from his pocket.
This was the last thing uncle Mascow had given him before he died. Uncle Mascow had always rooted for him and Lila’s love but he never wanted it not until he finally died.
A tear threatened to leave his eyes but he held it back.
“Lila Steele”he began and Lila cried emotionally. She was such a cry baby
“Will you marry me?”he looked up at her smiling nervously and anticipating her affirmative reply.
She nodded immediately. There was nothing to think about for she loved his so dearly”yes Lannon”she cried and she raised him from the ground and hugged him “I will marry you”
Lannon smiled in excitement as he patted her”I love you Lila”he whispered.
She looked up at him and pecked him”I love you Lannon” and their lips locked in unity while he carefully slid in the ring into her finger.
“Now say Cheese Lila”
They both pulled out from the kiss and turned to where the voice had come and when they looked, it was Sam and Ivory. Lila immediately ran to them and hugged them happily.
“Mum is proud of you Love” was her mother’s affectionate reply.
