Chapter twenty-three

“What happened to him Alex? What did you do to him?”, Harley asked him but Alex just couldn’t stop crying.
“What did you do?”, She asked angrily holding by the collar.
“I — Magnus forced me to poison his wine, I am sorry.”, He said and Harley gasped.
“How could you do that? How could you poison him? You are no different from Magnus.”, She said and walked towards Cyrus’ room.
Harley tried to open his door but it was locked, she went to his window and it was locked too.
“Cyrus please open the door.”, She said but there was no reply.
“Please I am begging you.”, She pleaded and waited but there was still no response.
She didn’t know what to do, she then decided to go to the superiors to inform them.
They rushed to his room immediately and they met him on a chair staring into air.
“I am not died yet.”, He said and the superiors breath a sigh of relief, Harley just stood there crying.
“Harley excuse us.”, He said and she went out.
“Magnus will attack this academy very soon, I can only protect it for a while, I am getting weak. You guys should leave with everyone, he is only after me, if you choose to stay then he will kill all of you and if you guys die because of me — I will never be forgiven.”, He said.
“Is there not any cure? We can’t just leave this place like cowards, this is our home.”, They said.
“You guys try to understand, the students life are in danger, Magnus will surely attack.”, He said.
“Explain everything to everyone and if they still don’t want to leave, force them.”, He added.
“What about you?”, They asked.
“I will be fine.”, He simply said.
“You can leave now and call the lady outside .”, He said and few moments later, Harley entered.
“Cyrus …!”, She called as she hugged him in tears.
“Am not dying.”, He said but she still didn’t release him.
“Please don’t die, I will look for a solution. It surely has an antidote.”, She said.
“You know that I am being punished right? I can’t die and that is my punishment.”
“Cyrus this isn’t the right ….!”
“I just want to share this with you, I feel so frustrated and it is killing me.”, He said.
“You are sounding like you are going to die Cyrus.”, She said as she cried profusely.
“I killed my parents and brother all because I couldn’t control my anger, since my grandpa was an immortal and wasn’t a normal being, I inherited that from him.”
“I was the only different one, even my parents were normal and my brother too. People called me a monster and I just couldn’t control myself, I killed every single person that called me a monster including my parents. Only my brother treated me well but I killed him by mistake, he was trying to bring my back to my senses but I just — I regret what I did till this moment, it is only his death that pains me the most and maybe that’s I treat Alex like my brother, I just wanted to make up for my mistake.”
“Just the pain that I feel because Alex betrayed me Makes me imagine the pain my brother must have felt.”
“Ariel — she was the only one I wanted to protect in this world, I just wanted her to love me and I could do anything for that but it turns out that she was just working for Magnus, I had to kill her if not she will surely be the end of me.”
“I have killed a lot of people and I am bound to suffer forever, I can’t die but I will continue to feel pain. So do you still love me?”
“Cyrus…”
“I won’t be surprised if you betray me also, what I just want right now is to experience death. I want to know how it feels to escape pain and torture.”, He said.
“Cyrus please…”
“I knew from the beginning that I was just wasting my time hoping that we would be together in the end, I just wanted to still have some hope but it seems like I will spend my whole life getting punished, my whole life is in his academy.”
Harley was about saying something when the guards knocked.
“Magnus is causing trouble in the hall.”, The guards said.
“Cyrus you are weak, you are getting weaker, you can’t afford for Magnus to see you this way, I will go and face him.”, She said stopping him.
“This is my fight Harley.”, He said as he teleported to the hell.
“Oh I see that you have managed to still stand on your feet after being poisoned, I see that you are really a strong person but not for long.”, Magnus said.
“What do you think you are doing? Don’t test my patience Magnus, leave them out of this and just face me or are you scared?”
“You know that I am not scared after all I have your life into my hands, I wonder how you feel after finding out that Alex works for me.”, He said and Cyrus clenched his fist.
Alex just bowed down I’m shame, everyone just stared at him in annoyance and disappointment.
Emily couldn’t control her tears, she couldn’t believe that Alex could do something like that.
“I can finally have your lover after I get you out of the way.”, Magnus said and laughed and Cyrus lost it.
He attacked Magnus and since it was unexpected, Magnus lost his balance and he tightened his grip on Magnus neck.
He didn’t care, he just wanted to kill him right there..
Then the mark changed colour and he immediately left Magnus and Magnus grabbed the chance and stabbed him with a poisonous sword making him fall to the ground.
“If that poison wasn’t strong enough, let’s see how you escape this.”, He said as he stabbed him again and this time around blood gushed out and Harley gasped.
This must be the scene that she had seen earlier.
“This wasn’t what we agreed on.”, Alex yelled clenching his fist.
“You said you weren’t going to kill him, you promised to only bring him down.”, Ember shouted.
“Shut it! I know what I am doing.”, He said shutting them up.
Magnus walked towards Cyrus who was trying to get a hold of himself, he certainly wasn’t satisfied yet.
He still wanted to stab Cyrus more. He might not die but he will loose he power and become very useless and he might even die if luck isn’t in his side.
“You will have to kill me first before you get to him.”, Harley said standing in his front.
“I see you want to join him.”, He said as he raised his sword to Stab her.
“You will also have to get through me, we didn’t agree on this.”, Alex said trying to control his anger.
He knew if he doesn’t, he would just end up messing things up.
“You will have to get through us also.”, Everyone said one after the other and Magnus just ruffled his hair pissed.
“I see you all are ready to die for that monster, let’s see how you all survive once he is dead.”, He said and left.
