The Li’s mansion
Ryan woke up with a jolt and his head ache greatly as he sat upright. He stretched his body and massage his numb neck before stepping down from bed. He walked to the bathroom for his morning routine
He was done minutes later and walked back to his room. He settled on a blue pant trousers and a black sleeve shirt. He wore his shoes and headed out of his room
“Good morning Sir.. a maid said from behind him. He turned and faced the maid then hummed a reply. That’s been his way of greeting since he doesn’t talk much
“Your breakfast is ready.. she said
“I’m fine.. he replied and made to walk out of the house when he heard his mom’s voice
“Ryan.. his mom called and he faced her immediately
“zǎoshang hǎo a mā ( Good Morning mom ) he greeted with a little bow
“Why aren’t you taking breakfast? His mom asked and he hesitated
“I don’t just feel like.. he replied after a while and Leyan (his mom) walked up to him
“Is something wrong? ” She asked and he shook his head
Leyan sigh and held his hands.
“Take care of yourself okay?” She said and he nodded before walking out of the house
“When did he turn this way? He wouldn’t even talk to me, always locking himself up in his room all day” She sigh as she watch him leave the house
He walked out of the house and met brown— his driver, already waiting for him with the car door opened
“Good morning Sir.. he greeted while Ryan nodded before entering the car.
Brown entered too and ignited the car and they drove off

“Violet.. granny Pamela tapped her
“Go away granny, I wanna sleep more. I didn’t have enough rest” Violet said, not opening her eyes
She was exhausted from yesterday delivery job. Her body ache badly
“Violet.. granny Pamela tapped her again and she let out a groan
“Grandma.. she repined and sat properly on her small bed
“Don’t be Silly, I’ve always told you you look ugly when you frown” Pamela said and Violet scoff lowly
” I’m always beautiful” She muttered
“So what does granny want?” Violet asked
“I wanted to go get some groceries but I sprained my ankle”. granny Pamela said
“You shouldn’t have stress yourself.. Violet said and stood up
She walked to the bathroom and washed her face and teeth. Minutes later she was done and headed to her room to change her night gown
“I’m done granny.. she said walking into their small sitting room
“Oh, you’re ready?..she asked and violet nodded.
“Here” Granny Pamela handed her a list of things to buy and money.
“I will be back” Violet said and walked out of the house.
“Be careful.. her grandma shouted after her.
“Yeah, I will.. she shouted back and Granny Pamela smiled.
Violet hummed a song as she walked down her street.
“Hey violet.. someone called from behind
“Hi Jeff, nǐ hǎo ma? (how are you)?” She faced him
“I’m good and where are you going too this early morning?” Jeffrey asked
“Granny sent me on an errand.. she replied and he nodded
Jeffrey was 20, his parents were well okay and he’s in college too. Evergreen college to be precise.
He had a crush on her ever since kindergarten but couldn’t tell her directly for the fear of loosing her and their friendship
“Do you mind if I follow you?” He asked
“Should I start begging you before you follow me?” She raised her brow
“No, not that.. he said quickly and Violet laughed
“I was just joking.. moreover, if you follow me, you’ll be late for lectures.. she said and he smiled
“You think evergreen college is like emerald high we attended? Of course not, I choose to skip classes if I want.. he said
“Wait, you’re skipping lectures?” Violet exclaimed and he covered her mouth.
“Gosh, you’re loud” he glared at her
” Don’t worry, when you finally get to college, you will understand what I’m saying.. he said and she scoff immediately he left go of her mouth
“Anyway, I should hurry now bye.. she waved at him and he nodded
“See you in the evening.. he waved back and Violet smiled before continuing her walk to the grocery store
She kept singing and walking when a car suddenly rushed past her, splashing muddy water on her
“OMG!! What the f*ck is this? She exclaimed as she looked at her stained trousers and blouse
“I don’t know why you ladies don’t pay attention to where you are going”
The driver came down from the car
“Anyway sorry…but next time, make sure you use your eyes and legs wisely. You can’t have those big eyes and yet can’t see where you’re heading too.. But sorry all the same.. the driver said and made to leave when Violet pulled him back
“Please recap.. she said and the driver furrowed his brow
“What do you think you’re doing?” The driver asked releasing his hand from her grip
“You are at fault here and you still have the balls to insult me? Now tell me how I should run the errand for my grandma looking like this?” She asked but the driver ignored her and made to walk away but she pulled him back again
“I’m still talking to you.. she yelled this time, drawing people’s attention
“What’s wrong young lady.. a middle aged woman appeared and Violet faced her at once. She explained everything to the woman and the woman sigh
“Young man, you’re at fault, that’s not how a responsible man should behave.. the woman said
“I think I know what you want. The driver said going to the car, he took some bundles of dollars notes and walk back to them.
“Take, I believe this is what you want” he said handing the money to violet
“How rude.. she sigh and look at him. “What is the meaning of this? She asked looking at the money in her hands
“Isn’t this what poor people like you want?” he said and Violet eyes widdened
“How dare you? She yelled landing the guy a slap.
Ryan exhaled deeply after watching the drama before alighting the car. People were already murmuring among themselves

“Brown, what’s happening?” He asked in his usual calm voice
“Young master.. brown said and walked up to him.
“So he’s not even the owner and he has the nerves to call me poor? She scoff and Ryan walked to her
“I’m sorry for what he did. We were just in a hurry so I wouldn’t be late for class that all. I’m so sorry.. he said and Violet lips moved like she wanted to say something but words weren’t coming
He was f*cking alluring as the sun shone on his exquisite face
“It’s fine.. she said after a while. “Just tell your guard or driver to be careful.. she blinked
“And here is your money, I don’t need it” Violet said and held his soft hands. She placed the money in his palm while part of the money fell to the ground
She gave him one more glance before walking away. She couldn’t stop murmuring and looking at her muddy clothes
“You can have this.. Ryan said, giving the money to the woman that was standing with violet
“Thank you my son. The woman said and he nodded before walking back to his car
“You’ll find what you really desire one-day” the woman said and Ryan looked at her one more time before entering the car
” I hope so” he muttered inaudibly as Brown drove off
