” Did you get a boyfriend on your first day in college?” Mrs Zhan asked and she chuckled. She walked to her direction and hugged her
” Thank you so much Mrs Zhan for the clothes” She sobbed slowly
“Ayah.. I didn’t love crying when I was your age” Mrs Zhan disengaged from the hug and cleaned her tears
” I guess you won’t be coming to the coffee shop any longer” Mrs Zhan said
“Why?”
“What says your time?”
” Thirty minutes after four p.m.. Violet replied sitting closer to her
” Exactly my point. You won’t be chanced any longer because you will be late and if you insist to come, you might not be able to go to the restaurant” Mrs Zhan said and Violet smiled.
She had already told her about her job at yin yang restaurant
” Thank you Mrs Zhan, you’re just too cute.. she pouted and a customer walked in that moment.
“I’ll take their orders ” she said and went to meet Mujin
“I’ll take over” She told him
” I will use the remaining thirty minutes well, so go sit somewhere and let me attend to the customers” She added but Mujin hesitated
“Just let her do wh@tëver she wants.. Mrs Zhan said to Mujin and he nodded reluctantly
” You look really cute today.. Mujin said
” Yeah because I was born cute. Violet replied as she serve the customers.
Mujin went to seat with Mrs zhan while Violet took orders
” You like her don’t you?” Mrs Zhan asked and he let out an awkward laugh.
“I Know she’s pretty” mujin said staring at Violet
“That’s why I’m asking you.. you like her right? Zhan asked
” I really don’t know what you’re talking about”. he forced a smile before leaving to another table far from Mrs Zhan’s
Mrs Zhan smothered a laugh at his action

Mara sat down on her bed staring at the sleeping Claire. She couldn’t sleep
She kept thinking about what Claire had said earlier. She stared at the sleeping Claire again and sighed
‘ Could it be true? Ryan smiled at her? I’ve never seen him smile?” She thought and brought out her phone.
She went through the school blog to check Violet’s pictures which were uploaded earlier. She kept zooming the pictures
” I think she did plastic surgery ” She said
“That’s what jealous people like you always end up saying.. Claire yawned while Mara quickly hid her phone
” I heard everything already… Just know in a month time, she will be crown queen of beauty taking your place” Claire stood up and walked to the bathroom
” Let’s see how hot evergreen will become. The upcoming beauty contest will be hot no doubt” Claire smiled

Ryan sat outside with Brown. He wanted to change his habit of staying in door all day. Though Brown didn’t like the idea but he had no choice since that’s what his young master wanted
” Young master, aren’t you gonna eat dinner?” The head maid asked
“I will when I’m done here” He replied and leaned his back on the chair with his eyes closed
” In one hour time, let me know so I can go back in” He said putting on his headphone
“Yes young master.. Brown said and looked at his wrist watch
” I need to be watchful else I might loose my job if the chairman sees us outside”. He said while a little smile escape Ryan’s lips. He could hear him since he wasn’t playing any music at that moment

” I’m done, I will be heading home now” Violet said, removing her apron
” Oh, less I forget…., I don’t think I’ll be able to come regularly…. She trailed off, sitting next to Mrs Zhan and Mujin
” Now you got my point.
“But that doesn’t mean I won’t be coming if I’m chanced okay?” She said while Mrs Zhan smiled
“It’s okay, don’t just stress yourself too much”
“Alright, Bye ma’am” Violet said, standing on her feet
“Aren’t you taking your pay for today?”
” Thanks mrs Zhan, but not today… use it to get yourself a cute red lipstick. And don’t forget, red goes perfectly with those cute lips.. she winked and Mrs Zhan blushed
” Bye, you should go on dates more often too” She added aloud, leaving the shop
“That little thing.. Mrs Zhan smiled

” You’re back. Jeffrey stood up from the couch he sat
” You’re here ” Violet smiled and walked to him.
“Should we go to the restaurant?” She asked
“Can you cope with it? School, coffee shop and restaurant? All at once?” Jeffrey asked
“I already told Mrs Zhan I won’t be coming regularly”
“And she agreed?”
Well…. Yes she did. I also told you she bought clothes for me the other day right? she’s kind to ask me to come to work just on weekends” She smiled
“She really is nice” Jeffrey said and she nodded
“Should we go now? She asked
” Yeah… He nodded
“What of grandma?”
“She’s asleep already, no need to disturb her… He replied and She nodded slowly

” Violet.. Kira shouted from behind
“shénme?(What?) Jeez, you almost scared life out of me. Violet rolled her eyes
” Sorry ” Kira grinned goofily
” Wow, when did you get this dress? It’s so pretty. Kylie exclaimed, walking round Violet while checking her outfit
” I believe the guys at Evergreen college went crazy after setting eyes on you…. Mehn you’re hot!!” Kylie said and Violet shook her head
“I need to go now, See you guys tomorrow”
“Why? Are you sleeping over at Jeffrey’s place? Kira asked
” Not that, we do come home very late and by then you both would be asleep. Violet explained
” Let’s go” She faced Jeffrey and he nodded
“Bye witches ” she waved at the twins, walking away with Jeffrey
” Poor Jeff, I wonder why he wouldn’t tell her about his feelings before someone else does… I heard there are lots of cute guys in that college” Kylie said and Kira sigh
“I just feel pity for him. Kira said and an idea pop up in her head
” Maybe this will help Violet understand.. she smiled while Kylie wondered what she was up to
“Jeffrey.. she shouted after them and they immediately turned to her
” Don’t tell me?… Kylie’s eyes widened when realization dawned on her while Kira smiled broadly
” Don’t forget to tell Violet how you admire and love her okay? Make her y.. Kylie immediately closed her mouth and the rest of her words came out in a muffle
” What is she talking about? ” Violet frowned and faced Jeffrey but he immediately looked away
” Bye Violet, don’t mind Kira.. She’s drunk” Kylie laughed, dragging her sister into the house
” Friends do that don’t they? They admire and love each other… So there’s nothing to worry about ” Jeffrey said but she didn’t say a word.
” Let’s go ” She after a while and the rest of their walk to the restaurant was a quiet one which made Jeffrey uncomfortable
” Exactly what I never wanted to happen. That big mouth….he sighed as they both walked silently saying no words to each other

Mara checked the time and discovered it was almost ten yet she still couldn’t sleep.
‘ Could Ryan already like the new girl? She thought staring at Violet’s pictures
She’s been doing that for a while now
” Is something wrong? Why aren’t you sleeping?” Came Claire’s voice, jolting her out of her thoughts
” I just woke up and was about going to the bathroom.. She lied with an awkward smile
” What’s with the awkward smile?” Claire frowned
” Méiyǒu Shé me ( Nothing )….
” Oh…. Okay” Claire replied and covered herself properly before going back to sleep
” I need to see things for myself. I hope it isn’t true. Ryan wouldn’t look at her” She assured herself
‘In a month, she’ll be crown queen of beauty … Claire’s words rang in her head and angrily, she threw her phone against the wall and it shattered
” What?” Claire sprang up from bed.
” ÇOçkroach, I tried killing it” Mara said
“You? Kill a ÇOçkroach?” Claire asked unbelievably cause she knew Mara was very scared of ÇOçkroaches
” And you ended up breaking your phone because of a ÇOçkroach?” She asked again sitting upright.
Sleep had vanished from her eyes
” You don’t believe me? Mara asked
“Of course I do, why won’t I? You once ran naked when you saw a ÇOçkroach so it’s understandable that you broke your phone trying to kill it” Claire said
“Gosh you’ve disturb my sleep” She grumble before lying back on her bed.
” I must be crazy ” Mara muttered as she stared at her already damaged phone.
