at the palace maids and guards could be seen doing one thing or the other as they move to and fro .
prince Yeon sat under an apple tree at the palace garden while staring at the sky , his diamond red mask cover his face carving out an ocean at his mouth , nose and eyes open . his gaze didn’t shift from the sky even for a second .
“my prince ” Lee his personal guard call but prince Yeon ignore his call, Lee who have gotten use to the prince attitude knew just what to do
” the queen seeks your audience at the throne room ” he said
” tell her am not coming ” Yeon said and Lee frown and shook his head negative
” am sorry but she …”
“Lee I h@të repeating myself , go tell her am busy “he said and Lee exhaled
” am sorry my prince but I won’t go unless you come with me . or do you won’t the queen to cut off my finger like she did last time ” Lee said , Yeon took his gaze away from the sky and now was staring at Lee and yes Lee pinkie finger was cut off a week ago .
” she should cut your finger for all I care ” Yeon said calmly and Lee gasp
” no way Yeon why will you say that , don’t you want me to have a finger to put my wedding ring ” Lee said calling the prince by his name . when Yeon father the king was still alive Lee father was his personal guard , Yeon and Lee grew up together and became best of friends . and because of their friendship Yeon made Lee his personal guard .
” okay fine let’s go ” Yeon said and rose up and they both made their way towards palace building.
meanwhile at the throne room that dowager was seated on her magnificent throne and beside her is price Duri who had a proud look on his face .
Yeon walk in with Lee behind him
“good day your majesty” Lee greeted but Yeon didn’t
“mother you sent for me “he said and Duri rolled his eyes
” you didn’t even greet our mother how disrespectful of you ” Duri said and Yeon smile and turn to his brother
” did she complain ” he ask and Duri scoff , the dowager smile and look down at Yeon .
” Yeon I want you to seal the fate of someone ” the dowager said and clap her hand and the entrance door open and 2 guards lead in an old man who might be in his late 50s or so .Yeon quickly recognize the man to be the popular Mr Yu who ones tried to betray the throne .
” am sure you still remember Yu Jin ” the dowager ask and Yeon nodded
” yes who won’t remember the bastard that planted a bomb in your car with the aim of assassinating you ” prince Duri sneer at Mr Yu who look down unable to look at the dowager who had a dangerous smile on her face .
” tell me Yeon what punishment will fit for his crime ” the dowager ask staring intensely at Yeon
” lock him up at the underground dungeon for the rest of life mother “prince Duri said nonchalantly with an eye roll and Mr Yu flinch and quickly went on his knees
“please your majesty I beg you to spare me , i-i am sorry for what I did “he begged while bowing with his forehead touching the floor . Yeon didn’t bother to look down at him rather his gaze were on his mother who is also staring back at him .
” Mr Yu crime is unforgivable for trying to kill you keeping him alive means nothing , kill him along with his family ” Yeon said and the hall went into silent , Duri wasn’t suprise by his brother judgement even Lee wasn’t .
“mother that’s too much ,you can’t just wipe out an entire family it will be a great genocide” Duri said
” my queen please am begging spare my family be kill me instead .I will pay the prize just leave them be “Mr Yu cried out , Yeon look down at him and look away .
” am impress by your judgment son but why will you want to so much blood “the dowager ask Yeon who went mute for a while .
” his family is innocent Yeon ” the dowager added and Yeon scoff and turn to Lee
” give me your gun” he commanded and Lee gave it to him ,Yeon threw the gun in front of Mr Yu .
“make a choice ,kill your family and you will be free or kill yourself and set then free “he said ,the dowager lean on her throne with a smile while watching the drama .Mr Yu gulp down while staring at the gun in front of him ,a had alot of plans going on in his mind .
“don’t waste my time Mr Yu make your decision” Yeon said and Mr Yu quickly grab the gun and pointed it at the dowager ,the guards and Lee broke into action to stop him but Yeon signal them to all stay back .
“even if am to die then you will be coming with me ” he yelled and was about to pull the trigger when Yeon drag out a sword from one of the guards and slash Mr Yu neck and his head drop down on the floor .blood splash on Yeon face staining his white shirt ,Mr Yu headless body fell down close to his head and Yeon throw down the bloody sword .
“I will he in my room mother ” Yeon said and walk away and Lee followed behind him ..
the dowager smirk and look down at the dead body of Mr Yu and she giggled at that sight of his blood .
“mother don’t you think Yeon is brutal in his own ways ” Duri ask the dowager who rolled her eyes and stood up
” you talk like that because you’re a weakling just like your father ,I wonder why Yeon isn’t much first son ” she seethed before walking away and Duri clinch his fist ,he h@të it when his mother says those things to him .
duri knew he wasn’t as talented as Yeon who is good in music , a good swordman , a good fighter and a smart guy who everyone fears and respect .growing up Duri have been leaving in the shadow of Yeon and for that reason he h@tëd him with passion and will do anything to watch him fall …
