” Doctor what did you just say?” Leyan asked walking to the doctor and suddenly grabbing his shirt, almost chocking him
Violet was still in shock, her body suddenly became numb that she was left motionless
” It’s not my Ryan right? ” Leyan asked tears already dropping from her eyes
” We tried our best ma’am…
” What do you mean you tried your best? Where’s my baby ?” She snapped
” Calm down ma’am ”
” Don’t tell me that!!! Tell me you’re joking, tell me you’re mistaken ” Leyan cried
” I’m sorry we couldn’t save the boy..” the doctor said releasing Leyan’s hands from his shirt
” My son..” Leyan mewled staring at Ryan’s corps on the stretcher
” Where are you taking him to?” She demanded holding the nurse from pushing it further
” Taking his body to the morgue..” The nurse replied and she staggered slightly
” His body ” she muttered under her breath, still not wanting to believe as tears trickled down her cheeks
” Hey @$$hole, open your d@mn eyes this minute ” Remy said removing the white cloth from his body and his pale face came to view
” I said you should wake up!!!.. I’m talking to you Ryan, violet is here..so can you please just get up..” Remy said weeping greatly
” Right, I must admit I was mad at you at first but I couldn’t stay mad at you for ever. I was being cold towards you because it was fun. It was fun getting on your nerves but I never really h@tëd you. I’m sorry for those times, so can you please stop all the prank and sit upright?” He cried.
The students present joined the family as they cried
Violet just stood still, staring at Ryan’s dead body. She couldn’t cry cos her tear gland wouldn’t produce tears that moment no matter how hard she tried
” Ryan..” she called softly moving to his body. Her trembling hands reaches for his face, caressing it gently
” Let’s go home Ryan.. let’s spend our future together like you said. You can’t go back on your words you know..” she swallowed a lump in her throat as she caress his face with tears gathering up in her eyes
” Let’s go home okay?” She said, holding his hands but it fell from hers
” Talk to me Ryan, You’re really frightening me right now. Stop all this and look at me. Tell me how pretty I look today, Can you do that for me huh?”
” You have to stare at me Sugar kiss, I wore the lipstick you like so much.. So I need you to tell me how pretty it looks on my lips. Yeah I agree my lips are lonely and needs yours on it to keep them company so please wake up..” she cried yet he wouldn’t budge
” Mom, can you please tell him to stand up, he’s scaring me ” she turned to her mom who was crying already
” Claire, Mimi can you please tell him to look at me? Tell him I look pretty ” She said looking at each of them with teary eyes
” I’m sorry but we need to take the body away..” The nurse interrupted
” No you can’t, I want my baby to wake up..” Leyan said crawling to the body
” Ryan stay with Mom okay? I’ll get you alot of candies, your favorite, so don’t leave mom okay?” She cried while Xue made to hold her
” Don’t touch me !! ” She snapped, before turning to the nurse
” Don’t take my son away from me, let me stay with him” she cried pushing the dead body into a ward
” My baby, Tell me how bad of a mother I’ve been. I wasn’t there when you needed me, I was always busy with work. You’ve been through a lot but I was always busy to notice. You grew up all alone. It’s all my fault and I’m sorry. Stand up and scold me, tell me how pathetic I am, tell me I don’t deserve to be a mother. Tell me you regret having me as a mother but please don’t leave me, please d….. She suddenly went unconscious before she could complete her statement
” Leyan..” Xue called fearfully
” Mom.. ” Remy called running to her. His friends just stood not wanting to believe the whole thing
” Doctor.. ” Mrs Zhan ran out of the ward to get the doctor and soon after, the doctors rushed with others nurses
They placed her on the bed and the doctor checked her pulse
” Hand me an oxygen mask ” the doctor said to the nurse and it was immediately handed to him but her heart beat rate was dropping
” Get the defibrillators from the OR ” The doctor said again and the nurses began running helter skelter
Everything was set and a monitor refurbished was connected to her body which began to read straight showing the patient heart beat was dropping rapidly and chances of survival was very low
” Charge 10J..” the doctor shouted and the nurse did..
The defibrillator was immediately placed on her chest, but she wouldn’t respond to the shock
” I can’t lost two people at once, dear God please, save my mom..” Remy cried
” Charge 20J..” the doctor said but the nurses hesitated
” Would you be responsible for her death?” The doctor yelled and the nurses got to work
She was shocked a second time and this time, the monitor began running normal
” That was a close one ” Mrs Zhan exhaled, her hands on her chest but suddenly the machine began reading abnormal
” Cardiac arrest..” a nurse muttered, pressing leyan’s chest ( CPR compression ) and she calmed down after a while
The doctor sighed loudly after checking her pulse
” Is something wrong doctor?” Xue asked
” She went into coma..” the doctor finally said.
” Please take the boy’s body to the morgue.. ” the doctor said to the nurse and made to leave
” Can you please let him stay with his mom tonight? Then you can take him to the morgue tomorrow?” Remy pleaded with swollen eyes and the doctor exhaled
” Alright.. ” the doctor said and left while xue walk up to Leyan
” Why are you doing this? Are you trying to make me pay for all the wrongs I’ve done? If yes then come back and scold me Leyan, we already lost two sons I can’t lose you too ” he cried
He looked at the students in the room then at Violet.
” You need to rest okay, you don’t look well ” he said
” I will stay, I will stay with Ryan untill he recognizes my voice and look at me..” Violet replied quickly, tears still leaving her eyes
” No violet, you’re still on medication..” Mrs Zhan held her and made to take her out of the room but she wouldn’t budge
” Violet! ” Her mom scolded taking her out of the ward forcefully
The rest of the students left too and it was just Remy and his dad standing in the ward
” It’s your fault, if anything happens to mom, I’m never gonna forgive you ” Remy said meanly
” And I hope you know you killèd Ryan, you’re responsible for his death. I have nothing to do with you anymore unless you can bring him back to life ” He said again before exiting the ward
” It’s my fault ” Xue fell on his knees in tears staring at his unconscious wife and dead son
