Mr. Monterio’s eyes kept widening the more as his eyes took in her dressing. This was the woman whom he loved all his whole life, the mother of his children, the one who abandoned him when he needed her the most.
His eyes scanned her face, then her clothing. The once beautiful woman has suddenly looked pale. Her face which was thin and her cheeks flat shows how she was malnourished.
Her eyes, which were always bright and happy, were filled with sadness.
Her sëxy body that always kills him everyday has turned to a thin and skinny one. Mere by looking at her, he could sense that she has suffered a lot.
“Andrius,” Cecilia whispered and he snapped out of his thoughts.
He stared at her with his eyes full of hatred.
“Do I know you?” He asked.
Cecilia wasn’t shocked with his actions. She was expecting even more than that from him.
“You need to listen to me, Andrius. I…”
“And why should I listen to you? What the hell are you even doing in this estate?! Who allowed you in!” He yelled.
Cecilia’s lips quivered and tears kept rolling down her cheeks.
“I’m sorry” she whispered.
“I know no amount of words can show how sorry I am, but everything wasn’t my fault. It wasn’t, you need to believe me” she cried. She tried to touch him but he pushed her to the floor roughly.
Cecilia fell hard on the floor, her knees scraping the hard ground.
“Ma’am!!” Alexa rushed to her and held her shoulder. She raised her head and glared at Mr. Monterio.
“How dare you?! Do you know what she has gone through? Do you know what she went through in the hands of that monster just to see you?!” She yelled angrily.
“You should have at least heard her out before hurting her!”
All Cecilia did was to cry. She felt vulnerable at that moment.
“And what has that got to do with me? Why do I need to know every Füçking thing about her life?!”
“Get lost from here and don’t let me set my eyes on you again” he said coldly before entering the car.
“You need to leave before the Chairman calls the guards on you” the Driver said and entered the car too. The car drove out of sight and Cecilia started crying loudly.
She already knew he wouldn’t believe her, not after all the years that she was away.
Just if only, if only she had told him the truth, if only she had just confided in him, this wouldn’t have happened. She would still be with her husband and children.
Thinking of it made her cry harder.
“Ma’am, you need to get yourself together” Alexa said, rubbing her shoulder soothingly.
A car suddenly arrived and out of it Robert came out laughing sinisterly.
“Oh lala, who do we have here?” He grinned.
Alexa’s eyes widened and her fingers tightened around Cecilia’s shoulder, digging deep into her skin.
“Ma…. Master,” she stammered, her eyes widening in fear.
Cecilia wasn’t left out too, for Robert should find her here, then it’s over for her.
Robert got to them, he bent to their level before landing a hard slap on Cecilia’s cheek. Her lips bursted immediately.
“Ma’am!” Alexa yelled.
Cecilia’s face went to the other side, her lips bleeding.
Robert glanced at Alexa and landed a blow on her face.
“How dare you Bîtch?!” He roared.
Alexa burst into tears, holding her red cheek. She could taste her own blood in her mouth already.
“Robert please, don’t hurt her. It was my fault, don’t hurt her” Cecilia pleaded.
Robert chuckled. He placed his hand on her chin and slapped her again, this time more harder than the first.
Cecilia groaned in pain. He grabbed her hair and lifted her up, his hand tightening around her hair.
Alexa was still writhing on the floor in pain.
“What if you escaped from me? Do you think Andrius is gonna believe you? Do you?!” He yelled.
“I don’t care, as long as I’m away from you then I’m satisfied” Cecilia spat on his face.
His hand loosened on her hair and he wiped his face with his hand.
Cecilia quickly held Alexa by the arm and dragged her up.
“Let’s go,” she whispered to her.
They both stood up and started running, they hadn’t gotten far when a gunshot was heard.
Alexa fell to the floor, grunting in pain.
Cecilia’s eyes widened and she bent beside her.
“Alexa! Alexa, are you okay? Please,”
Alexa held her bleeding leg and smiled at her sadly.
“I’m fine, ma’am” she whispered.
Roberto approached them, smiling dangerously.
“Do you think you can escape from me?” He asked.
The gate to Mr. Monterio’s house suddenly opened and seven guards rushed out. They got alerted when they heard the sound of a gunshot.
“It’s an assassin!” One yelled and Robert growled loudly.
“I’ll be back for you”
He quickly ran to his car and the car drove off immediately.
Cecilia breathed out in relief and stared at Alexa who was groaning in pain.
“Alexa,” she whispered in tears.
“We did it, ma’am,” Alexa smiled.
The guards walked towards them and Cecilia knelt on her knees and clasped her hands together.
“Please, save us. She’s dying please” she begged.
The guards stared at each other before helping Alexa to her feet.
“They almost got killed,” one of them said.
“Follow us,” another one said.
They held Alexa and they both walked towards the mansion.

HOWARD UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL***
Layla sat in the room, staring at the ceiling. She was bored and she suddenly misses Jaime.
“Jaime,” she whispered. If he was here, he would have been keeping her company by now.
She looked at her Mom who was already dozing off.
“Erm… Hello?” She called but Mrs. Rogers didn’t bulge.
She bit her lips.
“Mom,” she called again.
Mrs. Rogers’ eyes snapped open and she stared at her in surprise.
“Did… Did you just call me Mom?” She asked in shock.
“I’m bored, I wanna go back to school”
Mrs. Rogers smiled happily.
“Sure, baby. Sure sweetheart, you’ll go” she said.
“Finally” Layla smiled.

MONTERIO’S INVESTMENT**
The elevator opened and Charles came out of it with Jace beside him.
A smile left Charles’ lips when he saw Hailey by her table, staring at her computer screen.
“Let’s talk later, Jace. See ya’ later” he tapped his shoulder before walking ahead from him.
Jace scoffed loudly, tucking his hands into his pants pocket.
“Now I just realized being single is really bad,” he muttered. He turned and walked back to the elevator.

Charles got to Hailey’s table, he whistled and Hailey raised her head.
Her heart skipped a thousand times when her eyes landed on him. He was looking extraordinarily hot today, like smoking hot!
Charles smiled when he saw her drooling over him, that’s exactly what he wanted.
“Am I that handsome?” He asked.
Hailey smiled.
“More than handsome,” she admitted.
He walked to the desk and sat on it lightly, he touched her hair fondly.
“I missed you,” he muttered.
“I didn’t get the chance to kiss you last night, that was one hell of a torture” he said.
Hailey giggled.
“I missed you too,” she said.
“Should I go and get you your coffee now?” She asked.
He shook his head.
“I don’t want coffee,” he said.
“Then what?” Hailey asked, getting where he was going.
“I wanna taste your lips,” he said. He lifted her in his arms and headed to his office.
“Can you stop being naughty for once?” Hailey muttered, looking around to make sure no one was seeing them.
“Not when it comes to you, Cara” he placed a brief kiss on her lips.
She grinned and placed her arms around his neck, staring into his eyes as he walked into the office.
Immediately he set his foot into the office, Charles shut the door and rested Hailey’s back on it, his hand went to her b*tt caressing it slowly.
“Mind if I destroy your lips, baby?” He murmured softly, leaning his face closer to hers.
“I don’t mind,” she whispered, staring at his lips.
His lips slammed hard against her own as they engaged in a fierce kiss, tongues battling against each other.
