CHAPTER SEVEN
♠️ SELF CONTROL…♠️
“ Ahhh!!“ Olivia screamed as she fell into what seemed like an endless deep hole. She felt the weight pulling her in and all her efforts were futile.
Suddenly she saw someone falling in after her. She stretched out her hand and he grabbed hold of her before pulling her to himself.
“ Malone” she muttered and passed out in his arms. His eyes turned pitch black and he sprouted black wings from his back.
He flew out of the hole with Olivia in his arms. Immediately, Vance rushed over to them.
“ Olivia!“ He exclaimed and snatched her away from Malone’s grip.
Malone squatted and wanted to touch Olivia’s hair but Vance slapped his hand off.
“ You and your demon father have caused her to lose everything. Your father killed her father. You don’t have the right to touch her so leave” Vance seethed.
“ I am not responsible for being born to such a man. His actions are not mine so I would appreciate it if you don’t try to use my family issues as a leverage” Malone said and got up.
Vance lifted Olivia in his arms and they all walked out of the broken palace and met the others outside.
There were a lot of injured soldiers, dead bodies and weeping maidens around. It was absolutely pitiful.
Suddenly an entourage of soldiers, horses and chariots with the flag of Avalon and Valerian sitting on them, arrived.
“ Hail ye! Her majesty, Queen Rebecca has ordered that we escort his majesty, Prince Vance back to Valerian at once”
“ Great timing. Let’s all seek shelter in my kingdom till we can restore Aprilla back. That is the best and only option” Vance said and everyone agreed.
The knights of Avalon, Sayer, Olivia and of course Hermia entered the chariots to head over to Valerian. The other soldiers and maidens were asked to seek shelter in the neighboring villages.
Hermia, Vance and Olivia got in one carriage, the other knights in one and an injured Sayer and Malone in the other.
Malone helped Sayer to dress his wound and stiched it up for him.
“ Are you alright?“ Sayer asked Malone.
“ I’m alright” Malone replied.
“ I’m not asking for any physical injury. You just saw your father after a very long time. How are you feeling?“ Sayer asked again.
“ I’m okay Sayer, both physically and otherwise so don’t worry about me” Malone replied and faced out the open window.
Sayer sighed and rested his back as the chariots moved onward to Valerian.

Princess Karen sat down at the window side staring at nothing. Her mind drifted off to where no one knows.
Suddenly the palace gates opened and the royal chariots entered the palace.
“ Brother Vance is back” she muttered and ran down to meet him.
She ran out to the chariots and stood in front of the last one.
The chariot’s door opened and Malone came out of it.
Karen’s heartbeat probably doubled and she was short of words.
Vance came out of the other one as well as the knights. Olivia came out last.
“ Take them to the guests rooms and serve them well” Vance ordered the servants.
Vance went to see his mother while the others went inside to settle in.
Olivia dragged her aching body along with Hermia to her room. She looked to the side and noticed that Malone’s room was right next to hers.
She turned away and walked into her room shutting the door behind her.
Hermia had to stay in the servants quarters. Olivia walked into the bathroom and stripped off her garments before sinking into the tub of water.
The memory of how her father was brutally killed made her heart ache. She remembered how Drago kept calling her his bride. “ I don’t know what’s going on but it cost my father his life, I’ll find out at any cost and get my revenge” she muttered tightening her fist.

Karen walked into Malone room out of curiosity. It seems like Malone has stolen her heart.
She ravaged through his things, inhaling his scent. Suddenly, she heard some footsteps and hid behind the curtains.
Malone came in and stopped for a while before proceeding to get changed. He took off his cloak and top exposing his broad shoulders and upper build.
Karen was literally drooling over his body. He was about to take off his pants when he paused.
“ Are you going to keep staring at me while I undress? At least don’t hide , if you want to watch then come take a seat” Malone said and turned to Karen’s direction.
He used his powers to pull Karen out from her hiding place right in front of him.
“ Well…I…came to…I just” Karen mumbled, her cheeks red with embarrassment.
“ Leave. I don’t like intruders” Malone said and walked into the bathroom.
“ He’s so hot, and handsome. I want him” Karen muttered and bit her lip slightly before walking out.
She met Olivia just by the door and scrutinized her before walking away. Olivia on the other hand glared hard at her.
She has never had fond memories of Karen. Karen was literally her rival when it comes to most beautiful but Karen had skills up her sleeve which helped her outshine Olivia…when they were kids.
Olivia felt weird seeing her come out of Malone’s room.
She walked in but the room was empty. She decided to check the bathroom and without a second thought, she barged into the bathroom.
Malone was sitting in the bathtub, his lower body up to his ribs were in the water.
He arched his left eye brow staring at Olivia whose whole face had turned red.
“ You are really bold. Does it run in the blood of princesses to be shameless?“ Malone muttered.
“ I’m sorry, I wasn’t thinking and I just…wait a minute? Why are stereotyping all princesses because of what I did?“ Olivia said, completely forgetting that she’s with a naked man in his bathroom.
“ That other princess was watching me undress” Malone said and splashed water over his head.
Olivia was boiling with rage and turned rashly to go give Karen a piece of her mind, when she slipped on the wet floor and landed right in Malone’s tub with him.
Olivia’s breath hitched as she stared at the droplets of water running down his face down to his lips.
“ Are you here to seduce me?“ Malone asked.
Olivia blinked twice, “ well I came to ask you something” she muttered slowly staring at his wet lips.
“ What do you want to ask that’s so urgent?“ Malone asked and she groaned.
“ Stop moving your lips or I won’t be able to resist the urge of kissing you right now!“ Olivia muttered.
Malone : “😐”
MEANWHILE…
“ Olivia will stay with us until we can sort out the problem of Drago” Vance said.
“ No way! That girl should be miles away from you and this palace. Do you want Valerian to be reduced to ashes?“ Rebecca retorted.
“ You know what will happen if Drago gets his hands on Olivia… not only Aprilla but the whole of Avalon will be reduced to nothing” Sayer said and everyone became silent.
“ We need to keep her far away from Drago. That’s why she’s been placed under the protection of the knights of Avalon. Please cooperate with us for the good of Avalon” he muttered and bowed his head respectfully.
“ We can shelter the princess of Aprilla…but if it comes to my kingdom of I’ll have no choice but to cast her away” King Matthew said and stood up from his throne before walking away.
