CHAPTER THIRTY EIGHT
Blue and August had their brows raised in shock as the unknown force pushed them until they were behind the walls of August’s secret house.
August was shocked but not as shocked as Blue who has never experienced anything like that her entire life.
What happened? Blue asked thinking it was him but August looked shocked as well.
I didn’t do this, August defended but she gave that “I don’t believe you” look.
I swear this isn’t me, August defended again.
Then who? Because I’m powerless! Blue yelled and August took a step back.
She sounded scary.
It was like she was letting all her emotions out with that one sentence.
I guess we are getting pushed around by unknown forces now, she said again with a sigh as she sat on the bare floor of the dark building, cuddling Beiber who looked so gloomy.
I’m sorry, August spoke as he joined her on the floor.
Blue had her head bent,her palms on her forehead.
I’m sorry, I’m so sorry about your dad, I…
Its all my fault, i couldn’t protect him, Blue cried.
No, its not… its not your fault in any way.

Why is my father lying dead just two weeks after all these silly discoveries?!
Just yesterday I had a wonderful family, the next thing I know is everything going down the drain!

Blue shook her head, smiling bitterly.

Beiber let out a meowing sound, then he brushed his furs on her face like he was wiping her tears.
Seeing that gesture, she burst into fresh tears.
It reminded her of how comforting her dad used to be.
How he was the one who understood her the most.
She remembered when he told her to grow her hair, he convinced Kathy to let her since she wanted it so bad but the moment he traveled, her hair was shaved off.
She could still vividly recall the look of defeat he had on his face when she face timed him with her bald hair.
She couldn’t control her tears, neither could she control her emotions as she sprang up on her feet rushing out to God knows where.
Where are you going? August asked chasing after her.
I have to find dad,I need to find out how he died, she replied with a tone of determination as she searched for the door which her brain didn’t remind her that it didn’t exist.
Blue wait, August called still chasing her but she was running way too fast down the hall
He used his vampire speed and got to her front,blocking her which made her halt immediately.
Get out of my way,she commanded.
Listen to me first, he pleaded and she sighed.
10 Seconds, she said and he nodded.
You can’t go out there.
Why? Blue asked with a glare.
God, i hope this comes out well, August whispered to himself as he paced.
Times up,Blue said as she tried to walk past him but she got pulled back with those very strong hands that had her almost screaming.
She did scream.
Let me go! she yelled but he wasn’t listening.
His grip on her tightened instead as he transported her back to where she ran out from.
Let go of me,she yelled and he dropped her.
What is wrong with you?! she yelled with a very hard glare that would have hurt him badly if she knew how to use her powers.
Again she tried to run off and August pulled her again.
Let me go!
No way.
Let me go you dimwit! she yelled struggling, with Beiber, still on her left arm.
Stop! August growled in a voice that sounded like it isn’t his and she shut her mouth fearfully.
She has never heard him raise his voice before.
She was sure that wasn’t him speaking and that frightened her, coupled with the fact that the last time he transformed right before her was in the other side of this same building.
August stared at her.
He didn’t know if yelling was a good idea even if it made her look at him with fear.
He glanced at Beiber, he was glaring.
Why not?
He just yelled at the Kings mate!

He must be so stupid to think he would ever get away with this, he thought fearfully.
Blue stared at him like he h lost his mind when the one who yelled was now the one looking terrified.
What… what’s wrong? she asked.
I’m sorry,he begged going on his knees, his head on the floor.
What are you doing? Confused Blue asked bending to his level to help him up, but lifting his head, his eyes met with Beiber, he bent his head again in fear.

I’m sorry, My Queen, he kept repeating as he hit his head on the floor repeatedly, scaring the hell out of Blue who couldn’t understand what was going on with him.
What is wrong with you, August?

I’m sorry My Queen, he kept repeating frantically.
August get up, Blue begged, she was panicking already but Beiber (King Wright) wasn’t ready to let go of the torture.

His blood all over the floor where he kept hitting his head.

She was seated on the floor beside him trying to hold his head still but that only made it worse because he had to struggle with her hands.
Not knowing what else to do, she waited for him to lift his head then she put her hand under his head so he would hit her hands instead, tears all over her face.
Seeing her risk her hand for him, Beiber had to release him.
His head stopped moving, slowly he muttered those words till he finally stopped, then he paused tiredly.
August? Blue called happily, emotions almost bursting through her.
He didn’t answer, she lifted his head and placed it on her laps.
He had tears and blood mixed on his face.
Oh my God, you are badly injured,she panicked.
Its fine, he replied jumping out of her body for fear of the ‘Not So Little Pet’ beside him
I have to get you cleaned up, how do we… Blue was saying as she was getting up.
Her words hung in her throat when she saw his face looking like nothing happened.
The wounds already closed.
She jumped back in fright.
How did you do that? She asked and Beiber strolled away leaving August to figure out a lie to tell.
I’m a vampire remember? he asked with a wink and she smiled nervously.
They stared at each other for few seconds which Beiber watched them with a frown from where he stood.

He badly wanted to jump on his face and rip him aprt but his mate would call him Violent.
Thank you, Blue said staring deep into his eyes.
While she stared at him boldly, August struggled to keep his wobbling knees in check.
She compelled him to bow without saying a word,which made him wonder how she would be when she finally starts usimg her powers.
He knew the answer to that question already.
He would be as far away from her as possible. ?
Thanks for seeing me through all these,she added and he nodded.
I’m sorry about my outburst earlier,its been so hard for me lately and i.. I just don’t know how to manage my emotions anymore.
None of these is your fault, I understand now that this is my fate and no one can stop it, not even me, so instead of letting myself stay weak and vulnerable to the enemy, I would rather fight, for myself, my loved ones.
Saraphina must pay for killing dad and putting the blame on me, She said staring intently at the wall.
I’m glad you finally got it My Queen, August replied with a smile and she smiled back.

Smiling, she pulled August by the hand.
Lead the way,she said and August couldn’t hold his joy.
He has waited for this moment all his life.
Its finally happening, he spoke through his mind link but instead of a reply through the link.
Beiber meowed, but that didn’t bother him since he was uses to getting snubbed.
He led her deep into the building which looked like it go got bigger with every step.
They chatted all the way through as Beiber followed them till they got to the big room with tons of paintings.
This time around Blue tried to hold and control her fear as she pretended like she wasn’t scared of the strange looking faces.
She bent and carried Beiber so she would clutch him to herself when she gets scared.
August stopped the moment they got to Zelda’s picture.
Unlike the first time, seeing Zelda made her smile
It was like she was staring at her own reflection especially now that her hair grew longer.
Hello, she said to the painting but she got ignored.
You don’t say hello to her, August whispered with a chuckle.
How do I start? Blue whispered back.
I really dont know,I haven’t spoken to her before, he whispered.
Then what do i do? she whispered again.
Like you did the last time? August whispered with a questioning tone.
He wasn’t sure how to speak with her, he didn’t draw her so she would talk.
Sighing, Blue lifted her eyes to look at the painting but she noticed something.
Zelda had her eyes some where and it wasn’t on her face.
She traced her eyes, it was on Beiber.
In fact they were staring at each other.
I never got to meet you, Mate, she spoke to Beiber and Blue stared at her. ?
Who… are you talking to? Blue asked confused.
Our mate, your mate, she said still staring at Beiber.

Where is he? Blue asked and August wished he could run away.

He prayed in his heart that she shouldn’t ask him.

Evenuis has been trying to mind link the King who hasn’t been responding.
He wanted to inform the king about his findings but he was getting no response.
It didn’t feel like he was blocked out, it felt like he chose not to respond.
He has checked all the placespecially he knew he could find him but no trace of his King.
Running through the forest,he wished he wasn’t just a seer.
He wished he was a witch,a vampire or even a wolf.
Finding his king would have been easier.
He didn’t know why he was worried about a man as powerful as King Wright but since he had that revelation,he has turned to a watchdog.
He’s always watching, to be sure he wasn’t sick.
To be sure he wasn’t dying and he didn’t know.
But today, he left to go meet his friend who interprets dreams and visions.
Now he has the answer to his question, the King is nowhere to be found.
With his thoughts all over the place, he ran deep into the forest.
For someone as weird and creepy as his King, he won’t be anywhere around open places.
He sighed in relief when he saw the Kingdom White Horse speeding, he had the King lying unconscious on his back.
Ignoring him? the horse rode past him leaving him shocked to his bones.
The king is unconscious.
Is it happening already? he wondered as he ran after them.
He couldn’t teleport.
He didn’t even think of it.
