She glanced at each of the students and her gaze met with jayce’s who waved at her
Putting on the nitrile gloves, and their ID cards, they entered the lab completely
” Hey.. ” Jayce walked up to them and pulled Spicy closer to where he stood pushing Hazel out of the place while kitten found herself a spot to stand
” I wonder why she’s not dead yet.. ” Hazel glared h@tëfully at Spicy
” Let’s stay close.. ” Jayce smiled and Spicy nodded
” You look pretty ” He said again after a while and she faced him
” You’ve been staring at me for a while now and I’m very uncomfortable with it.. can you please look else where?” She said and all he did was smile
” I can’t look else where cos You’re too beautiful to look away from..” he smiled and She made to hit him but the lecturer entered and everyone stopped what they were doing
” Good morning student..” she smiled
” You’re late Mrs Choi ” Hazel said
” I know, and I’m sorry.. ” she apologized
” During our last class, I made mention of an acid-base titration. I Know alot of you here might be familiar with it but this is a lot more complex ”
” I gave an explanation yesterday on how to carry it out, who remembers?” She asked and before anyone could talk, Jayce began explaining
” Firstly, When titrating and when working with unknown concentrations of potentially dangerous compounds, it is essential to work as safely as possible.
” Acid-base titrations are used to determine the concentration of a sample of acid or base and are carried out using a burette. It is a long, glass tube with a tap at the end which can be used to very carefully add drops of liquid to a test solution. It has a scale (normally in cubic centimetres) down the side to ensure accurate measurements…..
He went on and on and everyone paid rapt attention to him
Hazel kept smiling sheepishly as her eyes stared glued on him. She found even the way he talks cute. Silvio didn’t pay much attention as he began doing his own experiment with the knowledge he had
Immediately Jayce was done explaining, Silvio was done with titrating. Mrs Choi walked over to him to see what he did
After observing the burrete, she smiled at him before walking back to where she stood before
” And a student is done with his experiment..” She smiled, her gaze on Silvio and Everyone faced his direction..
” Show-off ” Spicy scoffed and looked away as she started hers.. after few minutes, the students were done with theirs and the results were observed and everything came out just as how jayce had explained it
” You’re quite useful.. I thought you were just a dîçkhead.. ” Spicy faced Jayce with a smile
” I love you.. ” he said without realizing it
” Huh?”
” I mean your smile, I love your smile, it’s pretty.. just smile often..” he said awkwardly
” Too bad I don’t like smiling.. ” She said and looked at Silvio who still had his usual cold look on
” How I wish I can just throw this acid on his stone face..” she said inwardly
” So since we’ve gotten everything we wanted, next week we’ll be treating something different or something more familiar” Mrs Choi said
” Is there any question?” She asked and the students kept mute
” I guess no questions then.. Lest I forget, we’ll probably have a test next week”
” Alright ma’am..”
” So this will the end of our class…. ” She trailed off and glanced at the students
” Silvio, Hazel, spicy.. you three should clean the Lab and please be careful cause the acids here aren’t diluted yet.. ” she said
” Can I join them?” Jayce asked and Mrs Choi smiled
” Of course, you can ” She replied and walked out of the Lab
Kitten walked up to spicy after Mrs Choi left
” Are you sure you’ll be fine? Should I assist you?” She asked
” It’s fine, it’s not a big deal.. at Least Jayce is here alongside Stone-face. I think the work will be even faster since he doesn’t smile and his cold face can make one work without hesitation ” She laughed, moving her gaze to Silvio who was busy arranging the apparatus into a cupboard
” You should control your tongue spicy.. I hope it doesn’t put you in trouble..” kitten whispered
” It won’t ” She whispered back
” If you say so. I should head to the hostel now.. I wanna order some hamburgers cos it’s been a while, I don’t like the ones sold in school.. ” Kitten said
” Sure.. see you later then ” Spicy waved and kitten nodded, walking out of the lab
Immediately Kitten left, Jayce went to Spicy, ignoring Hazel who has been talking to him for a while now
‘ Did he just leave me for her?’ She Wondered unbelievably..
” I see she’s trying to get the attention of everyone but not my Jayce.. ” she muttered and fold her fist..
Silvio paid attention to none of them as he transferred the reagent bottles into another box.
He made to take another step but spicy stood in front of him, blocking his way
” Why did you save me when you were going to hurt me yesterday? Do you know I couldn’t walk properly because I hurt my butt” She asked but Silvio made to turn the other way but she still blocked his path
He looked at her and raised the polymethylpentene bottle with him
” Undiluted acid, I’ll pour this on you if you don’t mind you business” He said seriously and She scoffed
His hands moved to the bottle’s lid but Jayce who had been watching and listening to their conversation, held his hands
” Don’t you know how to treat a lady? I was supposed to beat you up to a pulp for what you did to her yesterday…” Jayce seriously and Spicy chuckled softly
” You should calm down jayce.. Stone face wouldn’t do it or would you?” She looked at Silvio with a smirk
Silvio immediately took off the bottle’s lid completely and she shifted back
” I always do what I say ” He said and turned to Jayce
” This should be the last time you’ll be holdings my hands that way..” he said and walked away
” Dumb sh”thead ” spicy scoffed and held Jayce’s hands
” Don’t mind him and Let’s finish up..” She said taking him away from there to somewhere else while he kept staring at their interlocked hands
He looked at her when she released his hand
” Let’s finish this.. ” she said and he nod as they both started cleaning up the table
Hazel fume angrily and it felt like she was gonna explode any moment soon then an idea popped up in her head
She walked to a table at the end of the lab with an evil smile on
They were done and made to leave the lab when she spoke up
” You’re too engrossed and lost over a guy that you forgot to clean that up..” she pointed at a table and spicy sighed..
Truly, the table needed to be taken care of
” I should do it instead..” Jayce volunteered
” No I will.. just know It’s your fault Jayce.. you wouldn’t allow me concentrate because of your incessant talks” She rolled eyes at him before walking to the table while Hazel smirked evilly
Though Silvio saw Hazel going to the table earlier but he had no idea what she did there
” You left that table just now, why didn’t you clean it up? ” He asked calmly
‘ Wait.. did Silvio just speak to me?’ She wondered surprised but nevertheless, she tried to keep her calm
” I don’t know what you’re talking about.. ” She said and he didn’t say anything further
He stared at the table and then at spicy who was almost there.. The glass on that table was shaking gently, he immediately knew something was wrong
Jayce saw it too and his eyes dilated. Immediately spicy made to touch it, Jayce pulled her away and the glass exploded with part of the liquid touching his arm
” Are you okay? ” Spicy asked and he nodded..
The liquid from the glass had burned him..
” You’re arm.. ” She said, looking at his wounded arm
She placed his hand in the basin and poured water on it before facing Hazel
” You did that right?” She asked, grabbing a glass from the table
” I…I don’t know what you’re talking about” Hazel took a step back
” I think you should also feel the pain he’s feeling right now ” Spicy said angrily
Without thinking twice, she poured the liquid on Hazel’s face and she held her face, screaming and crying..
She fell to the ground as she kept screaming her lungs out
All this while, Silvio said nothing as he watch the sight in front of him with his hands in his Lab coat
