“Ma…?” Dexter stupidly and funnily said,acting like one who has been caught stealing meat from the pot.
“What are you,or rather, what were you.doing with my diary?” Annika asked,glaring at him.
“The pen that was on it fell,so I picked it up to return it back to its place. That’s all” He lied.
“I never knew pens could move without an action taken upon it” Annika sarcastically said.
“Well,a ÇOçkroach flew and and touched it,so it fell as a result. I was only trying to help,you should say thank you,jeez!” Dexter stupidly lied again, and he felt extra stupid to have come up with such a lie.
“There’s a school in my residence that teach people on how to lie,you should attend it” Annika mocked, and scoffed.
“You were reading my diary, weren’t you?” She asked.
“What?! That’s ridiculous, how can I read something that’s personal” Dexter lied. He bit his lower lips hard for lying.
“What are you doing here?” Annika rolled eyes.
“I should be asking you where you went to,instead of being in your duty post” Dexter answered with a question.
“Sorry,CEO Disaster. I needed to eat,so I stepped out to go have lunch, only to come back and meet you reading my diary!” Annika yelled.
“I already told you that I didn’t read your diary” Dexter said, feeling bashed.
Annika folded her arms,stood and was eyeing him seriously.
“If eyes could kill,I bet I will be in my grave already” Dexter said,and Annika almost bursted out laughing, but she just held it back.
“I will be In my Office” He said.
“Personal diary reader!” Annika snapped, and he rolled eyes.
He then started walking away,but….
“Disaster….” She called. Dexter paused,and turned to look at her.
“Thanks for yesterday” She said,and Dexter’s eyes almost popped out of their sockets.
“Did she….did she just say thank you to me?” He asked himself.
“You can leave now,Mr CEO,since you’re speechless” Annika said,and he chuckled inwardly.
“You’re just something else” He said,pocketed his hands and left.
“Jerk!” She mumbled, and faced her work.
^^ WRIGHTS’ RESIDENCE>EVENING^^
Anni started giving happy barks the moment she saw Annika walk into the house.
She wagged her tail,barking and circling Annika.
Annika bent low,and jacked it up. Anni then licked her face.
“Aww,I see how much you missed me. But eww,can you stop licking my face everytime I carry you?” Annika giggled,as she caresses Anni’s hair.
“Did you make anything for me to eat? I am super hungry” Annika asked. She dropped her bag on the chair,and walked into the kitchen with Anni.
She is that hungry that she couldn’t go bath,or even change her clothes.
“I am so hungry,migosh!” She gushed,and entered the kitchen.
She went to the fridge first,took a bottle of water and drank a little from it,then returned the remaining one.
“I hope you won’t just stay and bark,silly” She said,referring to Anni.
“Woof!” Anni barked,and she laughed.
Then,how she caught Dexter touching her diary suddenly ran through her mind.
She would have really dealt with him,if not for the fact that she only saw him touching it.
Cos,after Dexter was done reading the part where she was talking about her and Roland,he stopped reading,closed and dropped the diary back as a result.
So,what Annika actually saw,was him trying to put the pen back on the diary,exactly the way it was.
“I really can’t believe that jerk was touching my diary. I hope he didn’t read it like he said he didn’t.
“And I hope he didn’t read that part I wish he knew” She said.
She paused what she was doing,leaned back and bit her bottom lip,then she smiled at the thought of it.
But she started frowning when she realized he may not even have a clue about it.
“Jerk!” She muttered,and resumed what she was doing.
Few minutes after that,Justin walked into the kitchen,smiling.
Immediately Annika saw him,she scoffed and rolled eyes.
“I didn’t know you were back from work already” He smiled.
“Good evening,dad” Annika ignored what he said,and greeted.
“Good evening,love. I just got back from work too,not quite long” He said,squatting to pat Anni’s back.
“Oh…” She mouthed,but never turned to look at him.
“Won’t you at least change your clothes? Go have your bath,while I help you make the food” Justin said.
“Thanks,dad. But no,thanks” Annika replied sharply. Justin sighed,disappointedly.
“Can you stop giving your dad the cold attitude already? Please,Annika,it’s killing me. I miss the way we used to talk like best friends,you,your sister and I.
“Can it just go back that way?” He said,lowly in a calm voice.
“I will think about it,until then,safe journey to your room. I am cooking,and I don’t want anyone disturbing me” Annika said,in a rather funny way.
“Thanks. You still haven’t gotten enough money for your business,have you?
“I don’t know why you don’t want me to support you,Annika. I have more than what you need for your business,but you just won’t forgive me.
“I did it for you,okay? I married because I didn’t want you to feel too lonely. I did it for your sake,but you just keep giving me the cold attitude everytime”Justin yelped,and Annika started laughing.
“You did it for me? No dad,you didn’t do it for me,but for yourself. You did it for your own selfish reason.
“Did you even consider my feelings,did you consider how mom and my sister will feel where ever they might be?
“For crying out loud,you married mom’s friend,few months after she died. It would have been better if you married someone else,and not her. Do you have any idea what that means?
“You think mom would have done the stupid thing you did,if it was the other way round?” She smiled sadly.
“Dad,all you cared about was yourself,you never considered me! And now you want Annika to be smiling and laughing with you,clap and praise you for doing something so absurd!” She shouted,and began crying instantly. Justin suddenly started shedding tears too,unknowingly.
Meanwhile,Gloria has been there all the while,listening,rolling eyes and scoffing.
When Annika noticed her presence,she smirked,wiped her tears,but smiled sadly. She then held her dad’s hands and looked him in the face.
“Keep your money,use it to buy creams,good soups and perfumes for your dear wife,cos she stinks like a skunk. A skunk even stinks better than you.
“I don’t even know if your nose is still functioning well,that you cannot perceive her stupid body odour!” Annika said with a grimace,smirked at Gloria,and let go of her dad’s hand.
“What!? Did you say that to me!?” Gloria thundered loudly,and ragingly. She raised her hand to hit Annika,but Justin grabbed it.
Annika derisively chuckled,and moved close to her.
“I would not hesitate to send you to the morgue where you belong,right this instant if that filthy and stinky hand had touched me.
“Ask my dad,I run mad sometimes,and I bite like a dog. So,stay far away from me if you want to live long and enjoy your stupid marriage.
“This isn’t the same Annika that was always nice to you” She glared at her,dangerously.
She carried her food,then signaled Anni to follow her,and Anni did just that.
“Out of my way,skunk! Gold digger!” She said,and pushed Gloria out of the way,walking up the stairs with Anni.
Neither Justin nor Gloria could say anything,they just stood,staring at her till she completely went of of sight.

“Such a loser” Annika hissed as she entered her room.
She dropped her food on the bed,and sat down,contemplating on whether to go bath or eat first.
After thinking for a while,she decided to eat first before having her bath,cos the food might get cold. But she took off her clothes,though.
While eating,she began thinking of the business she wants to start,the apartment she wants to get,then the money that isn’t available yet.
She sighed,sadly.
“Where will I get the money for both the business and an apartment? I really want to leave this house as soon as possible” She said,and started eating.
She was half way gone with her food when she got an alert.
She picked up her phone,unlocked and checked the message,and…..
“Omigosh!!!” She screamed when she saw the alert.
She has just been paid her salary!
“I’ve just been paid,Migosh!”She screamed again,showing the phone,but she only barked.
“B….but this is way more than my salary” She stuttered,and took a glance at the figures again.
“This will get me an apartment for sure,and even have much left” She smiled.
“But why did I get paid more than I’m supposed to?
^^DEXTER’S MANSION^^EVENING.
Dexter just finished doing what needed to be done on his laptop.
“Totally free now” He sighed,but smiled. He dropped the laptop on the center table,and stood up,going into the kitchen.
“I think I’m starting to get a little cold” He said,as he walks in.
He actually took his bath immediately he got back from work,and was only in a short with no shirt on,that’s why he’s getting a little cold. And he even turned on the air-conditioning to the coolest level.
He brought out a cake from the fridge,got a plate and put it in,then took it to the microwave to make it warm.
“Hope I know what I’m doing. I don’t want to get hurt again,hope I really know what I am doing” He repeated it,and sighed.
“I just can’t get her off my mind no matter how much I try. It has become more like an addiction now.
“This is really crazy,I can’t be falling in love again,not after what I went through” He said,and the next thing that happened was anger clouding his mind as he thought about it.
Like play,he started gasping for breath,little by little until it got bigger than normal gasping. But thankfully,he had his inhaler in his pocket.
So,he took it out immediately,and started giving himself puffs,till he started feeling better.
He sat back,and waited till he was completely revitalized.
He got up,turned off the microwave,and left to his room. He went to his closet,picked his PJs and wore,then got in the bed,and covered himself with the duvet.
“I think I’m in love with you,Annika. But I’m scared…” He said,shut his eyes and slept off.
