“Thanks.” Jocelyn mumbled as Eddie complemented her beauty.
“The nurse is gonna bring you your drugs any moment from now. Stay safe.” Eddie said and got up.
Jocelyn stared at him till he left the room then she sighed and shook her head.

Eddie got back into his office a little bit stressed out but happy.
He couldn’t stop thinking about his new patient. She was a beauty to behold.
He took off his coat and hung it up on his coat stand before grabbing his car key. He checked his wristwatch as he sat down to use his telephone.
“Uh….Dave? I will be going home now. Please, make sure everything is in perfect order. I don’t want any complain.”
“Yeah Eddie. As always.” Someone said from the other line.
Few minutes later, Eddie carried his brief case and left his office.
He got outside the compound, got into his car and drove out of the compound.
Eddie lived in his own house despite the fact that his mother h@tëd him living alone.
She said it was too early for him to stay alone and should live with them instead.
But then, Eddie was the stubborn type and had stuck stubbornly to his gun.
His mother, Patricia then decided to send his cousin, Alfred to stay with him instead.
Alfred was Patricia’s nephew who was still schooling.
Eddie got into the house and met Alfred in the large living room with a girl. He stared at them and shook his head.
“And the doctor is back!” Alfred said with a huge smile.
“Good evening.” The girl greeted.
Eddie only stared without answering. “Can I see you upstairs right now?” He told Alfred before walking off.
“I think he’s mad to see me here.” The girl whispered.
“Nah. Don’t worry about Eddie. He’s got no problem.” Alfred said. He kissed her before scooting away.

“That’s another girl downstairs Alfred. What’s wrong with you?” Eddie asked as soon as Alfred walked into his room.
“Come on Eddie. She’s just a friend who has come to visit me from school.” Alfred defended.
“Yeah. Talking about school, aren’t you supposed to be on school right now?”
Alfred grumbled. “Stop being a killjoy Eddie. I know you don’t like girls but that’s the opposite of me, okay?”
“I’m not asking you to stop liking girls. I’m only telling you to be careful because I’m gonna tell your mom if you continue skipping classes.”
Alfred chuckled. “No you won’t do that!” He called over his shoulder as he started heading out.
“Try me!” Eddie shouted back. He sighed deeply when the door closed..
He undressed and took his shower before retiring to bed.
Dinner was not his thing so most of the time, he would go to bed without eating.
As he laid down, his mind traveled back to Jocelyn.
Was was he thinking so much about this particular patient?
It was not his thing to care for someone but he found himself thinking about this one.
He sighed and closed his eyes but all he could still see was Jocelyn.

The next morning, Jocelyn woke up to see her mother, Angeline in the hospital room, arranging her breakfast.
“Mommy?” Jocelyn mumbled. Angeline turned to look at her and smiled sweetly.
“My little angel is finally awake. Good morning princess.” Angeline said, walking towards the bed.
Jocelyn rolled her eyes. “You should have sent one of the maids mom.”
“Oh come on, silly. I’m your mommy. Let me do it myself.” Angeline replied, touching her daughter’s hair.
“Where is the doctor? Have you seen him this morning?” Jocelyn asked, excitedly.
Angeline looked suspiciously at her. “N…no. What’s up with this doctor? Why do you look so happy mentioning his name?” Angeline asked, going back to bring Jocelyn’s food.
Jocelyn shrugged. “Well….I can’t just keep thanking him for saving me in a special way.”
Angeline placed the bed table in front of her with a tray of food balanced on top before smiling at her daughter. “I know, right? The guy is really a life saver.” Angeline replied. “Eat up dear so you will take your medication.”
“Yes Mommy.”, Before Jocelyn could take up a spoon of porridge into her mouth, the door opened and Adam walked in with his personal guard Mac.
Jocelyn gasped, dropping back the spoon into her food. “What are you doing here?”
Adam smiled. “I’m here to see my bride. What else?”
“I don’t want you here. Get out or I will call the doctor to send you out.”
“Calm down, Jocelyn. He’s just here to see you.”, Angeline chipped in.
Jocelyn glanced at her mother. “Are you for real? Are you still gonna take his side?”
Adam walked closer to them. “In most cases, the security men are responsible for throwing out any unwanted person out of a premises but here, I guess the doctor is responsible for that job.” He said sarcastically.
Jocelyn scoffed. “It’s none of your business.”
Adam ignored her and sat close to her on the bed. The bed shifted under his weight. “How are you feeling now? Better?” He asked, touching her hair.
Jocelyn rolled her eyes. “I’m fine. Can you go now? Please?” She asked rudely.
“Do not dare tell me that! You are my bride and I need to be here, taking good care of you? Right Mrs Angeline?”
“Huh?” Angeline asked, acting absently.
The door opened again and Eddie walked in with nurse Rihanna.
Jocelyn’s eyes brightened. She couldn’t explain the feeling but she was overly so excited to see the cute doctor again.
“Is everything ok in here?” Eddie asked as he sighted Adam sitting so close to Jocelyn.
“Does it look like everything is not fine?” Adam retorted.
Eddie looked at him and decided to ignore him. He looked at Jocelyn and smiled. “How are you doing this morning?”
Jocelyn smiled back. “I’m getting better, doctor. All thanks to you.”
“Just call me Eddie. I told you yesterday.” Eddie said softly and Adam scoffed loudly.
“You are a doctor and should be addressed as one. Don’t be so unprofessional.”
“It’s time for you medication. Rihanna, please attend to her. I will be in my office ma’am.” Eddie said to Angeline before leaving the room.
Jocelyn rolled her eyes, wondering why he was acting all arrogant that day.
“I need to rest Adam. Can you please excuse me?”
Adam smiled. “I can’t leave my bride behind….”
“The earlier you stop calling me your bride, the better for you!” Jocelyn yelled angrily.
“Sir you have to leave. ” Rihanna said not liking the way Jocelyn was screaming.
Adam glared at her. “And what is your business with mine?” He retorted.
“Adam….can you step out for a bit? Angeline asked politely.
Adam looked at her and stood up. “I will be back once you’ve taken enough rest. Mac, let’s go.”
Jocelyn sighed with relieve when he was finally gone with his daft guard. “That guy is sick in the head mom. So sick in the head.” She grumbled.
“It’s okay ma’am. Take a deep breath and try to stay calm. This is not good for your health.”, Rihanna said with a smile.
Jocelyn nodded and closed her eyes while her mom proceeded to feed her.

Eddie sat behind his desk, thinking about what just happened in Jocelyn’s hospital room.
He wouldn’t deny that fact that he was caught off guard seeing Adam sitting so close to her.
He saw that Jocelyn was comfortable too but she’d said….
Eddie sighed and shrugged. It wasn’t none of his business who visited her. He was amused that he was jealous to see Adam sitting beside Jocelyn, cutting his visit short.
He couldn’t even greet her properly. A soft knock came on the door and Rihanna came in.
He looked up. “What?”
Rihanna gave him a side way glance. “What’s what? I’m just visiting doctor Eddie.” She replied with a smile.
“I’m busy right now, Rihanna. It’s so early in the morning. Don’t you have anything doing this morning? Go check up on the patients.”
Rihanna rolled her eyes and sat down. “I’m not the nurse on duty this morning. I’m just here to spend time to with you.”
Eddie stared at her. “Okay. I think this some explanation. Spend time with me? Why?”
“Can’t you see it, Eddie? I’m in love with you. I’m in love for the very first time. You are the first man I’m opening my heart to. Isn’t obvious?” Rihanna mumbled.
Eddie stared at her and laughed. “You are joking, right?”
“Does it look like I’m joking to you? I’m not joking! I’m very serious.” Rihanna replied.
Eddie continued staring at her, amazed. This was the first time a girl would boldly walk to him and confess her feelings.
He was amazed by her courage but sweet as it may sound, he’s got no iota of feelings for her.
“Rihanna…this is an office. What do you think you are doing?” Eddie asked.
“I can’t hold it in any longer. I love you Eddie.” Rihanna replied, leaving Eddie more bewildered.
