Episode 21
Zoe walked closer to Jocelyn and put a arm around her. “You had an argument with doctor Eddie?”
Jocelyn looked at her. “How did you know?”
“It’s written all over your face. What happened?”
“Can I trust you?” Jocelyn asked.
“Yes you can. I will be as honest as I can.” Zoe replied.
“Is there something going on between Eddie and Rihanna?”
Zoe gasped on hearing the question. “Who told you!”
“Just tell me.”
“Never! Nothing has ever happened between them. Not currently and not previously! Eddie has never had anything to do with any of the nurses.” Zoe said eagerly.
“Don’t ever believe what Rihanna is saying. She’s only lying. She’s trying to come between you and doctor Eddie. Don’t listen to her.” Zoe continued.
Jocelyn sighed tiredly and rested her back against the wall. “I already accused Eddie. He’s not gonna forgive me.”
Zoe rolled her eyes. “Eddie is a nice and gentle guy. Just go home and rest your head and find a better way to apologise.” Zoe advised.
“Thanks.” Jocelyn mumbled and made her way out of the restroom.

“You had a fight with who!” Paula and Dianne yelled out as soon as Jocelyn let the cat out of the bag.
“With Eddie.” Jocelyn mumbled with a look of guilt.
“Oh my God! What happened?” Dianne asked, abandoning the teddy she was holding.
Jocelyn sighed and shrugged. “I misjudged him. I thought he was really having an affair with one if his female nurse. I feel so terrible right now.”
Paula rolled her eyes. “it’s not a big deal, okay? You guys are a couple and are bound to fight. Just call him or visit and apologize to him. That’s all.”
“You think he’s gonna easily forgive me that way?” Jocelyn asked with her eyes growing large.
“H loves you Joe….. he’s gonna forgive me once you tell him how sorry you are.”
“I hope so.” Jocelyn mumbled.

At night on her bed, Jocelyn sat up, staring down at her phone and expecting it to ring.
She waited for long; far into the night, waiting for Eddie’s call.
She was disappointed when no call came through and began sulking.
Eddie was definitely angry with her if not, he would have called.
“Oh Eddie…I’m sorry.” She sobbed. She tried dialling his line but each time she tried, her fingers would tremble.
She finally gave up and forced herself to sleep.

Eddie was a nervous wreck the next morning. He woke up feeling worst than ever. He badly wanted to call Jocelyn the night before but refrained himself from doing so.
She’d hurt him and needed to make her feel it.
He swung his feet down from the bed and was about to rise when his door opened and Leo came in. “You could have knocked at least.”
“Sorry. Must have forgotten.” Leo said and yawned as he walked closer.
“What?”
“Are you okay? You had a fight with your girlfriend, didn’t you?”
“Guessed right.” Eddie said with deep sigh.
“Just sort it out with her. That’s all.”
“Thanks buddy. Why are you here so early?”
“We are going for camp at school.” Leo said and Eddie looked suspiciously at him.
“Camp? It’s almost summer.”
“Summer camp.” Leo added.
“Oh. Alright. Save flight and camp then.” Eddie mumbled and found his way to the bathroom.

She was supposed to attend cooking class that morning but Jocelyn decided to skip it and go to Eddie’s house instead, to sort out their fight.
She was putting on her shoes when her door opened and her mom walked in. Jocelyn looked up. She shook her head and continued with what she was doing.
“Say good morning at least.” Angeline said slowly.
“There’s nothing good about this morning.” Jocelyn replied.
“You are going somewhere? I want us to talk.”
“Talk about what? Your progress on the divorce papers?” Jocelyn asked sarcastically. She stood up and grabbed her bag with extra force.
“Will you please give me audience and stop being spoilt?” Angeline scolded.
“How I wish I could stop being spoilt right now. You are going to divorce daddy right? It’s your problem. I’ve cried about it and I’ve gotten over it already. You can do whatsoever you want mom. I’ve got my own problem to handle too. Good day.” Jocelyn said and walked out of the room, ignoring her mom’s call.
Angeline broke down and started weeping. She didn’t want to lose her only daughter but with the way things were going, she was afraid it might happen.

Eddie stood in front of the mirror, knotting his tie. He was in the room but his mind was obviously somewhere else because he kept knotting and unknotting his tie.
He sighed and dropped his hands to his side. He couldn’t bear it anymore. Slowly, he reached out for his phone and was about dialling Jocelyn’s line when the hallway doorbell rang slowly.
With the awkward sound the bell provided, he knew right away that it was Jocelyn.
A cute smile touched his lips before walking out of the room. He walked down the stairs and made his way to the hallway.
He got in front of the door and pulled it open to see Jocelyn standing at the doorway. He stood as he stared at her.
She was a little bit startled as she stared back at him.
Eddie turned and went back into the house without saying a word to her.
Jocelyn hesitated at the door and pouted. “Tell me to come in at least!” She cried. “I’m going to stay here until you tell me to come in.” She cried again.
Eddie stopped in the hallway and sighed. He turned around and headed back to the door then held out his hand.
Jocelyn stared down at it and smiled. She cleaned her tears and slowly took it then followed him into the house.
They went straight to his room in total silent.

“You didn’t call me.” Jocelyn mumbled once they were in his room.
“Was waiting for you to come back to your senses.” Eddie replied softly as he turned to look at her.
“Okay! Fine! I’m sorry okay? I was jealous….that was why I felt that way. I couldn’t bear the thought of someone else taking you from me…..” Jocelyn was cut short as Eddie moved closer to her and took her hand in his palm.
“Shall I give you the assurance that I’m gonna be yours and yours alone?” Eddie asked and Jocelyn slowly nodded.
To her amazement, Eddie slowly went down on his knees and revealed a fancy small box. He opened it in front of her and stared into her face.
“Jocelyn…. will you marry me? Marry me and be my angel for life.”
Jocelyn gasped and covered her mouth to prevent her from screaming.
She couldn’t believe her eyes! She was dumbfounded!
