Don walked into the ward that Catherine was in and he found her chatting and laughing with a teenage girl.
He cleared his throat and they both turned to look at him
“Ma’am we should go,boss asked me to come pick you up” he said
“But my shift hasn’t ended yet” she frowned at him
“He gave a strict order that I should return home with you,you must pack and go to his home for….” he paused and eyed Jasmine “You must come with me,now”
“Okay I’ll be there now” she said and he nodded and went out “I have to go,they will discharge you…umm surely tomorrow” she was about to leave when Jasmine pulled her back
“I can’t stay here for another minute” she whispered
“Why?” Catherine stared at her in confusion
“I..I have nowhere to go” she looked down sadly “I’ve been living in the streets,fending for myself and I …I ended up breaking into someone’s house and stole their money,some time back and now they’ve been hunting me for months,one of their men caught me last night and he made me like this…I can’t stay here” she looked at Catherine with teary eyes “Nor can I go out there because they’re going to kill me!” she bursted into tears and Catherine rushed to her side to hug her
“It’s okay,you can…you can come with me okay? Donald?” she looked at the door and Don came in “Can we take her with us please? She has nowhere to go”
“But Ma’am…” he was about to protest but they both gave him pleading eyes and he sighed and gave in “Alright but be quick we have to go”
Jasmine’s face lit up and she hugged Catherine’s waist
“Thank you” she muttered
“Okay,go with him and wait for me at the car while I settle your bills” Catherine smiled and she nodded and left with Don to wait for Catherine in the car
She settled the bills and went to the car after a while and they went home

Miriam walked with Rachel into her office and found the girls they sent to distribute drugs sitting on the couch.
“I thought we always send out six girls? Why are they only four?” she questioned and looked at Rachel for answers
“They got caught,one is dead and one is in the police custody,they all didn’t get caught because of her..” she pointed at the one with short black hair “She’s smart and thought of a plan fast to get them out of there” Rachel stared Miriam
“Useless!” Miriam hissed and grabbed a fully loaded gun on her table and shot three of them without batting an eye,remaining only the one Rachel pointed out
The girl didn’t even flinch when the others were shot,she sat there motionless staring at the glass on the table like it’s the most interesting thing in the world
“Get out,and call Ken to clean up this mess” Miriam said and the girl stood up and left
“What’s the next move boss?” Rachel took a pen and played with it
“It’s business as usual but I want to do something, there’s a certain pest I want to end,Ivy” She settled on her seat comfortably “She disrespected me and chased me out like a wet dog”
“The old man’s wife?” she asked and Miriam glared at her “sorry” she muttered
“Maxwell is no old man,he’s my love and my ticket to wealth,so much wealth that I don’t need to lift a finger anywhere ever in my entire life” she smirked
“And his wife is just an obstacle that needs to get out of way” Rachel pointed out and they smirked at each other

XAVIER’S HOUSE
“Here you go child” Nanny Diana a glass of water in front of Jasmine
She muttered a ‘thank you’ and gulped down half of it
“Where are your parents?” Nanny Diana sat down facing her and she stopped eating
“I ran away from home some time back,be … because they wanted to put me in an orphanage when my parents died” she lied and felt guilty for claiming her mother that she abandoned as dead
Her mind shifted to her mother and she wondered how she’s coping with everything that happened.
“That’s sad, I’m so sorry to hear that child” Nanny Diana went to her and hugged her warmly
She felt safe for the first time since her father died,she felt warm and at home and a tear slipped out when she realised how much she missed her mother’s warm hugs
Catherine sat impatiently on the bed and when the door opened she sprung up
“Finally” she sighed and Xavier gave her confused look
“How are you?” he walked towards her to give her a hug but she shifted away “Mi amor what’s the matter?”
“Why did I have to hear from Don about Tyson dying? You were there when the family found out right? Then why didn’t you tell me last night when you arrived home?” she snapped
“I.. I’m sorry I didn’t want to stress you—”
“I’m not sick I’m just pregnant for goodness sake!” she groaned and he said nothing and pulled her into a hug
“I just don’t want anything to happen to our child” he kissed her head and she held on tight to him “Did you pack your things? Are you ready to go?”
She nodded and disengaged from the hug and bit her inner cheek
“What is it?” he furrowed her brows
“How did you know there’s something I wanted to say?” she chuckled
“Your habit of biting your inner cheek” he smirked and she pushed him
“I..i brought a patient with me,she had nowhere to go and I couldn’t leave her there!” she looked at him
“Your big heart is going to get you killed Mi amor” he loosened his tie
“What is that supposed to mean?” she scoffed
“She can stay here but only for a little while, she’ll stay here with the maids while we go for the funeral” he said and she hugged him tight
“Thank you” she smiled and he chuckled and held her

The girl from earlier walked tiredly and entered the bar to have a drink
Some girls her age were stripping for boys on the stage and whistles and screams filled the whole room as the boys cheered them on
She rolled her eyes and sat on the table far from them
“Where are you sis?” she muttered to herself and a waitress her age walked up to her and she ordered drinks as If she was ordering them for the whole army
The waitress came back with them and she drank her sorrows away,she knew alcohol wouldn’t solve her problems but she loved how it made her numb to all the pains and how it made her forget about the world’s cruelty
Felicia walked into the bar and went to buy beer for herself
The girl stood up and went to get more drinks for herself,she was already getting wasted
They bumped into each other and Felicia’s beer fell and broke,the content in it splashed all over the floor and on their shoes too
“I’m sorry” Felicia apologised but she just hissed and walked away “How rude! That was the last cent I had!” she groaned and went to join the boys cheering on the girls on stage
The girl got herself more drinks and went to sit down
Felicia decided to climb on stage, she took off her oversized t-shirt and remained with only her shorts and a bra.
She climbed on stage and whistles and
screams increased as she twirled and whined her waist to the rythm of the song
The girl look up and her eyes bulged out when she saw the face of Felicia
“S…Sister!” she walked up to the stage and when she confirmed what she saw she climbed on the stage and dragged Felicia away
The crowd booed her but she cared less about them,she dragged Felicia who kept wincing outside
“What are you—” Felicia paused when she saw the face of the person that had dragged her like that “Quinn? Ohh my god Quinn!!” she cried and they both fell into each other’s arms and hugged each other tight with tears streaming down their faces
“Felicia! I finally found you!” Quinn sobbed
“How did you..? What are you doing here?” Felicia wiped her tears and looked at her
“I followed you here,to bring you back home” she said softly
“And mom? You left mom alone? With that man!? You know how he treated us and he’s the reason I left home! What if…What if he molests mom like he always did with me Quinn how could—”
“He can’t hurt her anymore! He can’t” Quinn turned her back on her sister
“That scar,on your face…he gave it to you? He did that to you too? Didn’t he!” Felicia stood in front of Quinn who avoided her gaze
“He came to my room every night Felicia,I would hear him breathing down my neck..his stinking breath suffocating me!” Her voice shook as she teared up
“I…I..”
“It became worse when mom became sick,he…he would make her watch ….a..as he had his way with me,I would scream at first but mom screamed the loudest,she badly wanted to help me but she was helpless,stuck on a wheelchair”
“Quinn…” More tears streamed down Felicia’s face
“I stopped screaming and told mom it’s going to be okay whenever he took advantage of me but you know what? She knew she couldn’t walk but she still tried to stand up and save me,but that is all over now” she smiled weakly
“How is mom now?” Felicia held her
“I don’t know,but we should go home now,I only came here to look for you” Quinn looked at her
“We can’t leave, they’re going to kill us!”
“I’ll protect you,with my life even …just to fulfill mom’s wishes” she wiped her tears
“Mom’s wishes?”
“Mom is dead Felicia” she dropped the bombshell “Her last wish was that I should find you and bring you home”
“Wh..What?” she staggered back “No…mom can’t die,she can’t leave she promised to be there till I…no no no” she paced around
“Her illness didn’t let her see or feel the sunrays of the first spring day,she died on the end of August” Quinn muttered
“No Quinn no” her heart got stuck in her throat,the lump was too difficult and painful to swallow
She felt shattered beyond repair like a glass broken to million pieces
“Get yourself together alright? We must think of a plan to get out of here” Quinn held her shoulders
“O …Okay” she wiped her tears
“Good,so now let’s think of something”

XUAN MANSION
IN THE EVENING
Everyone had gone to their rooms except Sofie who was watching a movie with Anderson.
She had forced him to stay with her and didn’t want to go watch it in their room,she wanted to act romantic with him in Catherine’s presence to annoy her and make her jealous but Catherine didn’t even show up downstairs since they arrived.
Speaking of the devil,she walked downstairs slowly with Flora by her side,Xavier had asked her to come with them and be by Catherine’s side and watch her and get her everything she needs
Catherine approached them and handed Anderson a sealed envelope
“What is this?” he furrowed his brows and opened it “You signed the divorce papers?” he chuckled and looked at her
“Ahh finally you’re doing something right” Sofie smirked at her
“Of course ,what did you expect? That I should cry and beg him to take me back,ohh please” Catherine mocked and walked away
“You’re going to regret this!” Anderson shouted behind her
Catherine halted on her steps and turned to them “By the way keep that dog of yours in a leash,its barks are starting to annoy me” She said facing Sofie who exploded instantly and was about to attack her when Flora stood in front of her protectively
“Not a step further ma’am if you don’t want to step on my toes” Flora said bravely and Catherine smirked behind her
