THE SURGERY
Her body froze when Shane’s lips captured her lips, shutting her up.

Her heartbeat came faster as she felt his cold lips on hers and a warm feeling settled within her.
Her body heated up immediately and she melted into the kiss, she was about to reciprocate the kiss when he gently broke it.
She licked her lips with a cute pout and locked eyes with him.
He looked at her face and without saying a thing, he swept her feet off the ground and scooped her into his arms.
She smiled as his warmness spread over her body, their eyes still on each other.
He walked inside with her like that and placed her gently on the couch. He squatted before her and she blinked.
“I’m not angry with you, you are not dirty and you don’t disgust me, you are special despite the scars, you are pretty” He said and her eyes brightened.
“I’m pretty?” She asked to be sure she heard right.
“First thing I will say this, you are pretty, for real” He replied and she smiled beautifully.
She smiled and touched his face, trailing her fingers on his face.
His eyes went to the plaster on her head and he sighed, standing up.
“About my uncle” She started and he looked at her.
“Do wh@tëver you want to do with him” She said.
“You’re not feeling bad that I might kill him?” He asked and she stood.
“He deserves it” She replied and he came closer.
“Your training starts soon”.
“Training?”.
“I will train you on how to fight and defend yourself, you don’t want that?” He replied and she smiled.
“I’m ready, I can’t wait, when are we starting?” She smiled.
“Very soon” He replied handsomely and she blinked severally before looking away.
“You can cook?” He asked and she nodded.
“What should I cook?” She replied.
“You know my favorite right?” He said and she smiled.
“I get it” She smiled and walked into the kitchen.
Shane looked at his arm and sighed, it’s a good thing he was wearing a black jacket, the blood was soaked into the jacket and it didn’t visibly stain it. He wondered how she would have reacted if she saw he got shot.
He walked into his room and got a treatment kit, he walked into the bathroom and after removing the bullet he treated the arm and bandaged it properly, he had his bath before coming out.
He returned the treatment kit to its original place and threw a black shirt on.
He was trained not to feel pain and this would be the first time he will be getting shot in a simple mission like this, the bastard deserves an award from him.
He walked out of the room and met Rona, settling the plates on the table.
She looked up and smiled when her eyes behold his sëxiness, his hair was dripping wet with the water, she bit her lips, revelling quickly on the short kiss..
“Wanna keep staring at me forever?” He asked.
“You’re too hot, it’s not my fault” She replied and he settled down.
She uncovered the plates and the appetizing aroma met his nose.
“Always delicious” He said, taking a spoon.
She smiled and settled down too opposite him.
She took her spoon and they started eating.
“I wonder when you will ever laugh, I will be the happiest person to see you smile” she muttered and he looked at her.
“Don’t hope then, smiling is for the weak” He replied and she frowned.
“Where did you get that mentality from?” She asked, taking a spoon to her mouth.
“Will you stay away from me if you ever find out I’m a bad boy?” He suddenly asked and her spoon halted in midair, she gave him a quick stare.
“I will never stay away from you even if you are the devil” She replied.
“Why?”
“Cos I…” She said but quickly stopped herself from spilling what was about to come out of her mouth.
“You didn’t h@të me even after finding out how ugly my body is so why would I stay away from you” She said and he nodded.
“I will book a dermatologist for you” He said.
“What is that?” She asked.
“A dermatologist?” He asked.
“Yes”.
“A specialist in treating the skin, your scars will be gone once the treatment will be carried out on you” He replied and she smiled.
“Thank you my Shane” She stated and he leaned in, touching her forehead. She smiled again as he sat back on the couch, and they continued eating till they were full.
“Thank you” Shane said as she started packing the plates.
Rona winked and walked to the kitchen, she came back later after washing the plates.
“I’m sleeping over, in your bedroom” She said and started walking to his bedroom without waiting to hear his response.
“She’s a handful, acting like a baby and in the next minute acting tough” He said and stood up.
<PARIS~ HELEN’S MANSION>
Helen had a glass of wine in her hand as she watched the skies through the glass window. She had a calm look on her face as she thought about certain things.
The door to her room opened and her personal secretary entered.
Helen turned and flashed him a smile.
“Adrian” She called with her flourish clean American English.
“Ma’am” Adrian replied and came closer, opening his tap.
“Did you get what I asked of you?” She asked.
“Yeah, she’s fine and your flight to Miami is booked” He replied and she smiled.
“Good job Adrian” She said and a sudden smirk marred her face.
<SHANE’S ROOM>
Rona came out of Shane’s bathroom with his towel wrapped around her body, there’s nothing to hide since he already saw everything.
Shane was sitting on the bed with a roll of weed on his lips.
Her eyes widened when she saw him smoking. A professor smoking?
What kind of professor smokes?
“You smoke?” She asked and he turned his face to her.
“You h@të smokers right?” He asked, looking into her eyes.
“Yes but in your case you look hot and handsome” She replied.
“Flirting with me?”
“If you term it that way fine it is” She smiled as he continued smoking. She suddenly released a cough.
“Sorry” He said.
“No, I’m fine” She said and walked to his closet.
“What are you doing?” He asked.
“What do you think I’m doing? Get one of your shirt” She replied.
“Only people in love do that Sh|t” He said and she turned.
“It’s not a law, what if you fall for me soon?” She said and he scoffed.
“My shirts are bigger than you” He said.
“I’m not that little, Prof” She said, rolling eyes.
She was about to take off the towel and Shane turned his back on her, giving her privacy.
She took one of his shirts and threw it on.
She faced Shane and walked to the bed, Shane turned and he was tempted to laugh. The shirt completely swallowed her and it was like she was wearing a gown.
“Are you wearing a shirt or a gown?” He asked mockingly and she got on the bed.
“Wait, you want to sleep on the bed?” He asked and she looked at him.
“You want me to sleep on the floor?” She pouted.
“Stop giving me headache Rona”.
“I don’t share my bed with anyone”.
“Then learn, what would you do when we finally get married?” She said, smiling silly and he gave her a sharp look.
“Where did you hear that from?” He asked.
“I know so don’t ask me more”.
“You need a brain check up for thinking that way” He said and Rona pulled him, making him fall on the bed.
“What are you doing?” He asked.
“We are sleeping together” She said and shifted closer to him.
“Rona” He blinked.
“Let’s sleep” She replied and closed her eyes.
“Oh! God” Shane groaned, staring at her face which was so close to him.
<NEXT DAY>
Angelique was the first to wake up and when she did that she discovered she was laying on something. She moved her eyes up and it fell on Valentino, looking so cute in his sleeping state, she slept together with him again. He was looking so innocent and gorgeous that she wondered if it’s the bad boy she knew.
She felt chest and could feel her heart beating fast, it behaves this way when she’s around him.
She was staring at him till his eyes lid shook and she looked away.
She expected him to wake up but he didn’t wake up so she took her eyes to him again.
“Should I trust him?” She asked herself and her eyes fell on his lips.
She kept staring hard till his voice brought her back.
“Wanna kiss me?” He asked with a naughty smile and she took her lips in.
“Pretty @$$” He called sweetly and she blushed. When did she start blushing when he called her that.
“Tino” She replied with a cute smile.
He reeled in and placed a kiss on her forehead before moving to her cheeks, he looked at her lips before taking his eyes away, the time for that will surely come.
“Let’s brush together and after that I will make breakfast for us” He said, sitting up.
“What are we?” She asked and he faced her.
“I mean we slept on the same bed for two times cuddling and you always make breakfast for me when we are not dating” She said and he smiled, coming closer.
“There will be an answer to that later” He replied and took her hand, pulling her down the bed with him.
He carried her into his arms and her eyes looked into his eyes.
“You’re so pretty” He said and she smiled, wrapping her arms around his neck. They started smiling till they stepped into the bathroom.
<JACKSON MANSION>
Charlotte got downstairs with a dull and moody expression on her face, all the maids that got into her trap this morning regretted ever coming into the house as workers.
She was like a wildfire, consuming everything on its way.
Janette got downstairs with her bag and met Charlotte.
“Baby” She rushed to her.
She turned Charlotte to her and she gasped when she saw her face.
“Why are you this way?” She asked.
“He keeps rejecting me mum, I love him so much” She replied and shockingly tears came out of her eyes.
“You’re talking about professor Shane? The same guy that defended that poor girl in the police station? Why can’t you just forget about him”.
“I can’t!!, I love him with everything in me” She yelled and Janette grabbed her shoulders.
“I understand baby but he’s not the only guy in this world, you will surely find a guy that will love you”.
“It’s because of that poor girl Rona, I can’t love another guy, if you can’t help me to get him then Füçk off” Charlotte yelled and pushed Janette away, rushing out of the mansion.
“Baby” Janette called and tried rushing after her but a mockery laughter coming behind her made her stop.
She looked back to see Andrew who got downstairs.
“I love what I am seeing, it has gotten to the point of her yelling and pushing you. Good riddance, a day will come that she will slap you on the face, I will be waiting to see that day” He said and started walking out.
“Why did you h@të her so much? She’s our daughter but you don’t care about what goes on in her life or with her, why Andrew?” She yelled and he stopped, looking back.
“I don’t h@të her, who in his right senses would h@të his own daughter. Listen, don’t expect me to cherish her with that bad attitude of hers, I will never support our daughter getting spoiled in the name that I love her, so deal with everything that will come from her cos you are the standard that supported that behavior of hers. I came from a rich family but my parents didn’t bring me up that way and I won’t support that upbringing of my own child Janette” Andrew said and walked out.
“Andrew!” She yelled and fell on the couch.
<SHANE’S PLACE>
Shane and Rona came out of the house at the same time. She went back home and got dressed before coming back.
She took his hand when they got outside and he looked at where she was holding his hand.
“Is it necessary?” He asked.
“What?”.
“Holding my hand?” He replied.
“Are you feeling uncomfortable?”.
“I didn’t say that” He replied as they got to the car.
She released his hand and got into the car before Shane entered.
Margaret’s call rang on her phone and she picked.
“Rona” Margaret called.
“Ma’am” She said, smiling.
“Are you okay?” Margaret asked.
“I’m fine” She replied.
“Are you sure, how’s Shane, why didn’t you come to my restaurant again?”.
“He’s fine, I will tell you everything when I visit you after school, I love you”.
“I love you too Rona” Margaret said and the call ended.
“Margaret?” He asked and she nodded.
“She’s worried about me” She replied and he nodded before starting the car.
<CLINTON UNIVERSITY>
“Rona” The three girls ran crazily to Rona when they saw her.
They hugged her at once, carrying her into their arms.
“Girls” Rona giggled loudly as they cherished her like a baby.
“How dare you get me worried for two days?” Mandy asked, faking an angry face.
“We were all worried so stop acting like you were the only one worried” Angelique said and hit Mandy’s head.
“Ouch!!”.
“What happened?” Erica asked, hugging Rona again.
“I’m sorry for getting you worried babies, I got into an accident and I was arrested by Charlotte’s mum” She said and they gasped.
“What!!!!”.
“Is that how insensitive her mother is?” Erica fired.
“She’s senseless like her daughter” Angelique said.
“So how did you get out?” Mandy asked.
“My Greek god saved me” Rona replied and they glanced at each other confusingly.
“Greek god?”.
“Shane” Rona replied and they smiled, getting it.
“He’s your Greek god? Don’t tell me you two are…
“We are not dating” Rona interrupted.
“I just prefer calling him that” She said.
“Give us your number” Mandy said and Rona shared her number among them. They both gave her a call and she saved their numbers.
“Friends forever” Erica said they chorused, group hugging.
<AIRPORT>
Helen got down from the plane with Adrian and she released a smile when the fresh air hit her skin.
A guy rushed to her and bowed.
“Diego” Helen said and Diego smiled.
“Hope the mansion is ready?” She asked.
“Yes ma’am” Diego replied.
Diego is her informant and also an assistant to her here in Miami.
“Let’s go” She said and walked to the car with Adrian.
She got in with him and looked out of the window with a hard smirk.
“Janette, get ready to welcome me” She said as the car drove out of the airport.
<GENERAL LABORATORY>
Students moved into the laboratory for the practical which will be handled by Shane. It’s called a general laboratory because it houses all the students both in first year, second year and third year and it happens once in a month. For this month only the first year class students and the second year class students will be taking part in the practical.
All the students were already in when Charlotte, Stella and Rose got in, they walked proudly to their seats, they are one among the best students in practicals.
Mandy, Erica, Angelique and Rona came in last and took their seats. Charlotte was glaring h@tëfully at Rona while Stella glared at Angelique.
Rona’s eyes met with Charlotte and she found her glaring at her, Rona smirked and gave her the middle finger.
“What!” Charlotte gasped and Erica laughed, she was watching everything.
“Good one girl” She gave Rona a thumbs up and Rona smiled.
Shane came into the laboratory and all eyes turned to him, murmurs started and it was all about this killer look and handsomeness.
Charlotte felt a pool of wetness between her legs as she stared at him. She was expecting their eyes to meet just for once but he didn’t spare her just a blink.
He was moving his eyes around when it landed on who he was looking for, Rona.
She was already looking at him and the moment their eyes met, she smiled at him. He didn’t smile back but he gave her a soft look before facing the students.
Charlotte burned in anger and jealousy as she looked at Rona, wishing to kill her.
“Good day class” He said with a straight face and everyone’s attention went to him.
“Finally the practical day is here, you all will be operating on a rat, I will be dividing you into groups for the practical, any group that fails to carry out the practical will lose marks” Shane said.
He took out a paper and started dividing the students into groups. Rona fell in the group of Mandy, Erica and Angelique.
Charlotte with Stella and Rose and the rest of the students were grouped and paired together.
“Take your positions” Shane said and each group went to a table where a rat was on the table.
“Start, every group has 1 hr to finish” Shane said and the group leaders started immediately.
Erica handled the practical and took the scalpel..
Charlotte took the scalpel and when she was about to start the surgery she saw Shane walking to Rona and her eyes started following him till he got to her.
She wasn’t concentrating and she ended up placing the scalpel on her finger thinking it’s the rat.
Shane’s hands touched Rona’s hands as he helped her wear the gloves.
Jealousy consumed Charlotte completely and out of anger…
Rose’s eyes widened and when she was about to stop Charlotte, Charlotte angrily brought the scalpel down, trying to vent her anger on the rat but it ended up getting her hand.
“Ahhhh!!!!” She cried out.
