A figure can be seen standing in front of the window staring outside
A blonde girl entered the room and closed the door
“Brother are you sure about this?” the girl said and walked up to him
“I’ve never been so sure in my life” he muttered and turned to her slowly “Has my suit arrived?” he walked towards the mini table and took a book on it
“Not yet but—”
“But what Tasha? I need it today” he groaned
“Brother” she sighed “The wedding is tomorrow,no need to rush…be patient” she stood in front of him
“You don’t understand, it’s not for the wedding” he looked at her
“Then what…no! You’re not!” she shrieked
“Ohh yes” he walked towards the window “I’m going to that silly engagement party” he smirked and dug his hands into his pockets

AT THE HOSPITAL
“One last spoon” Xavier held the full spoon in front of Catherine and she opened he mouth and he shoved the yoghurt in her mouth
“No more please” she whined and hf chuckled and nodded
“No more” he put the bowl on the table and dragged his chair closer to her
“What happened to me exactly? What did the doctor say?” she asked softly
“Don’t stress about it,the doctor said… it’s normal” he lied smoothly
“Normal? But—”
“Hey, don’t stress, it’s okay…get some rest I won’t leave you” he kissed her palm and she nodded and laid back and he took out two pillow and made her comfortable and returned to his seat and watched Catherine till she fell asleep

XUAN MANSION
Sofie sat on the comfortably eating cookies while a maid massaged her swollen feet
The event planner was there already with her people and they were decorating the mansion for the engagement party this night
Millicent saw them and clicked her tongue and marched towards them
“Love?” she smiled at the maid “Can you please make some coffee for me?”
“But ma’am I’m still—”
“You don’t want to step on my toes do you?” Millicent smirked at her and she swallowed hard
She was about to stand up but Sofie dragged her back
“Where do you think you’re going!? I ordered you to massage my foot!” she barked and the maid stood there in confusion not knowing whom to listen to
“Go,now!” Millicent said to her and she scurried away
“What’s your problem!?” Sofie glared at her
“You! You’re my problem! You think you can come here and order everyone around! I can’t wait for the day you’re out of our lives because..” she leaned closer “ I know you won’t stick around for long” she spat out
“Unfortunately for you sweetheart, I’m not going anywhere,you better get used to having me around,sister in law” she said through gritted teeth and forced a smile
“We’ll see,but I won’t sit and watch you order everyone around, you’re just a guest, sweetheart” she smirked and left Sofie boiling in anger
“I will make sure you never talk to me in that manner I swear” Sofie muttered to herself with hatred laced in her voice

WAREHOUSE
Dr George walked around the garden and spotted Sierra coming his way and he turned back
“George!” she shouted when she saw him and ran after him
He sighed and stopped “Hey!” he turned back
She chuckled when she reached him “You don’t have to run away from me you know”
“I’m not running away from you Sierra,I just didn’t wanna fight with you” he looked at her
“I’m not here to fight too I just wanted to talk” she said softly
“I have something to tell you anyway but go on..” he said and his phone suddenly rang and he took it out
Sierra peeped and Jasmine’s same appeared on the screen, George looked at her and cleared her through before rejecting it and he shoved his phone back into his pocket
“No go on..answer it,I guess now you’re really into her” she chuckled painfully
“Sierra that’s not—”
“Ohh please save it George! You said there’s nothing but now you’re going to her almost everyday and she even had your number” she laughed “But you know what,I don’t blame you… she’s sweeter and less cruel unlike me right? That’s what you said and maybe it’s time for wh@tëver we have to come to an end” tears prickled in her eyes and she forced them back by blinking her eyes severally
“Sierra..” he tried to hold her but she moved back and he took a deep breath “I’m sorry” he whispered
“No need to say sorry” she muttered and left
“d@mn it!” George groaned and ruffled his hair in frustration

XUAN MANSION
The engagement party was about to start soon and guests were starting to arrive and the maids were asked to dress nicely to welcome them and the family was getting ready upstairs
Anderson walked out of the bathroom all dressed up and ready.
Sofie was sitting in front of the mirror while the make-up artist applied make-up to her face
“I’ll be downstairs if you need me” he walked towards her and pecked her forehead and she blushed
“Okay” she looked at him as he left
“You’re soo lucky!” the make-up artist gushed and Sofie smirked proudly “I’m done ma’am” she smiled and Sofie looked at herself
“OMG! I look so stunning” she held on to the make-up artist and stood up to get dressed “You can leave and please call those useless workers on you way out”
“Okay ma’am” the make-up artist packed her things and went out
Sofie got rid of the towel wrapped around her body and when she was about to wear her newly bought dress the door opened
“Are you crazy! How can you—” her words got stuck in her throat when she realised that “Mom!?” she quickly took the towel and covered her tummy
“No need to cover anything, we’re both women afterall” Mrs Xuan chuckled and walked towards her after closing the door
“It’s not that…I just feel uneasy with—”
“It’s okay,I understand…by the way I came to check if everything is okay,the guests are already here and I think we should proceed”
“Yes mom I’m… I’m almost done, I’ll be down soon” she stuttered
“Okay” she walked away and halted on her steps when she was closer to the door and turned back “And be careful, I’ll call Tessa to help you,your baby bump seems like you might give birth anytime” she said and left
Sofie breathed out and sat on the bed deep in thoughts,a knock interrupted her and she muttered a ‘come in’
Tessa opened the door slowly and came in “Good evening” she muttered
“Come on, let’s hurry up” she stood up slowly and Tessa helped her with putting on the dress

XAVIER HOUSE
Xavier walked into the basement and Patrick looked at him and stood up
“I think my job here is done” he said and took his jacket and was about to leave when Xavier pulled him back
“I’m sorry ” Xavier muttered without looking at him
Patrick looked at him and yanked his hand off before leaving
Xavier stood there for a minute before approaching the guard that was tied to a chair
“I’m not in a good mood my friend so you better not waste my time as and I’ll let you go scot free” he leaned in closer and ripped off the tape on the guard’s mouth
“S…Sir I already told your friend everything I know! Please don’t hurt me” he sobbed already trembling in fear
“You saw him leave without a word nos cut the bullSh|t and spit it out” he took out his gun and placed it on top of a box
“I did nothing wrong sir I swear,a man came and told me he’s your wife’s friend and he wanted to surprise her and i saw nothing wrong with that let him in,after he came back he threw cash on me and left like that… that’s all I know sir please spare me” he begged
Xavier stared into space trying to wrap his head around it but nothing made sense,but one thing clicked on his mind..that it might be Miriam who did this thinking he’s dead
“What was his name?” he looked at the guard
“I don’t know—”
“You don’t know huh!?” he grabbed the guard’s collar “What do you know!” he let go of him and roughened his hair in frustration
“It was someone you know,some.. someone close to you,I don’t know his name but what I know is th..that he’s your brother” he said and hissed in pain as his wounds throbbed in pain
“My brother?” he stared at the guard totally perplexed “That basta—” he laughed “Ohh he got me this time” he grabbed the gun and turned to the guard “Thanks for the info pal but it’s for you to die” he smirked and pulled the trigger
“Boss no no please!!!”
GUNSHOT
Xavier looked at the guard’s blood splashed everywhere on the boxes behind him and he smiled and put the gun back
“It’s time for you and I to end this brother,one of us won’t make it out alive that’s for sure” he muttered before leaving
