THE HERO
Everyone had tears in their eyes as they stared at Shane’s dead body.
“Shane…. Ahhhh” Rona roared out with a loud cry and her face faced up to the sky as tears streamed down her eyes.
The rest were controlling their tears from falling down their eyes but the pain in their hearts was reflecting in their eyes.
“Baby, you can’t do this to me, please don’t leave” She said, shaking his limp body.
“I love you so much, you can’t leave me, I can’t live without you, Shane!!” She cried out, hugging his body tightly like he would wake up if she did that.
“Let’s get him to the hospital, he was hit by two spears” Jonathan said, and Seth looked at him.
“Then what are we doing here? Rona come on let’s take him to the hospital” Seth said, and took Shane from her.
He started running to the car, Jonathan opened the car and he placed Shane’s body at the back.
“Let’s leave, I will drive” Spider said and got inside.
“Stop crying for now please” Seth said gently and Rona nodded, sniffing gently.
They all entered the car and drove out.
Everyone was already seated on the couches in the waiting room. Shane was administered in a private ward, so the waiting room is in the ward.
All eyes were on the door as they waited curiously and impatiently for the doctor to come out.
Spider was hugging Rona, placing her head on her chest, she finally stopped crying but she was still sniffing badly.
Seth buried his face into his palms, and he looked up at some minutes.
“Will he be fine?” She asked, sniffing.
“Let’s hope” Jonathan replied, and faced Seth.
“What?” Seth asked.
“I think this is not the right time to ask you this but I can’t…
“I know what you want to say” Seth interrupted, and they looked at him.
“I’m Shane’s twin”
“How? He never says anything about you” Spider replied.
“I will talk about that part if he survives but for now I got nothing to say” Seth replied, and they looked at him.
“How come did you know about Rona? She was pushed down the cliff, how come she was with you? We need answers? Who are you?, please” Spider asked.
Seth sighs before he starts talking.
“The day I visited Shane in the university, I secretly planted a tiny cam on his car”
Immediately Seth came out of his car, he took out a long plastic biro-like and pressed a button on it. A tiny fly came out of it and flew towards Shane’s car and attached itself to the back of his car. It’s so tiny that only a microscope can detect it.
After meeting with Shane, he rushed out of the university but he wasn’t really gone, he was somewhere, waiting for Shane to leave the school.
After some hours, Shane drove out of the university and he activated the cam on his tab. He knew it was unwise to follow Shane, he knew his brother more than anyone in this world.
He got in his car and left the restaurant.
He watched the road to his house till Shane finally got home.
Around 6pm, he drove out of Luxury hotel and started going to his house when he saw Shane driving out of the house, he was watching him because of the cam on his car. He still decided to go to his house.
He finally arrived at Shane’s house but he parked some distances before walking into the house but when he got close, he saw something weird.
Five guards were taking Rona into a car, and he remembered her face, the girl with Shane.
He quickly released a cam on the car and he ran back to his car.
He started following the cars but he was doing it in a way that will not raise suspicion.
He followed the cars till they got to the hideout, and he came out of his cars and trekked the remaining distances till he got to the hideout. He hid somewhere and threw a spy cam there and luckily it got the leader’s shirt (Blue).
He quickly left the place and went back to the hotel.
He installed the cam memory card info into his laptop and started watching everything that was going on.
He was able to hear the plan.
He was watching Shane at the same time.
“You were watching Shane when he came to my house?” Jonathan asked, and gave him a look of disbelief.
“Yeah, I made the butterfly cam on his car to enter your house through the window, I was able to hear what you planned that night” Seth replied.
“I already explained everything to Rona” Seth said.
How were you able to know about Blue’s plan?” Spider asked.
“Don’t forget one of his butterfly cams was on his shirt” Jonathan replied.
“I heard what his plan, he planned to push Rona down after Shane will show up, so I waited patiently till he mentioned the address he will be executing the plan today, I couldn’t get all the info because he pulled the shirt off, so I made inquiries from my informant and I was shown the location, I went there that night and survey it, after knowing where the cliff was, I asked my informant to get me a flying boat jet”
“What!!”
“He was able to provide the flying boat jet. I went there before everyone, I was waiting there till Blue arrived, I turned on the flying boat jet and moved up to a level and stopped so that no one will take notice of me, the moment he pushed Rona off, she fell into the flying boat jet, that’s how I saved her” Seth replied, and tears slipped out of his eyes.
Jonathan and Spider were looking at him with wide eyes.
“You don’t only have the same face as him, you are intelligent like him” Jonathan said, and immediately the door opened, and Doctor Clinton came out.
Rona literally jumped out of Spider’s arms and rushed to him.
“Is he fine? Tell me, my Greek god is okay right?” She asked impatiently.
“Who are you to him?” Doctor Clinton asked.
“I’m his girlfriend” She replied, and he smiled.
“What was he stabbed with?”
“Short spears” Seth replied.
“The spears were poisoned with a deadly venom, the poison killed its victim immediately, I wonder how he was able to survive the poison, I don’t think Shane’s human, no human can survive that poison, the person that used the person really knows the effect of it” Doctor Clinton said.
“What!!” Their eyes widened.
“What’s the poison?”
“KD1X V2”
“What!!!?” Jonathan shouted with wide eyes.
“The antidote can only be found in Germany, what the Füçk”
“Luckily, I got the last antidote of it here with me, Shane is in safe hands, I was able to save him, he was rushed in at the right time, he got a very strong immunity, one I have never seen before” Doctor Clinton replied, and they released a sigh of relief.
“He’s fine right? He’s not dead right!, He’s not dying right?” Rona asked, sniffing while rubbing her nose with the back of her hand.
“Your boyfriend is fine and sound but it will take days for him to wake up, it depends on how fast he heals, he was badly injured, but don’t be worry he will be fine, I swear on my life” Doctor Clinton replied, and faced Seth.
“Your twin is okay” He said, and Seth smiled.
“Thank you” Seth said.
“Can we see him?” Spider asked.
“Yes, I will check up on him later” He replied and left them.
They all find their way to the ward, and Shane is lying on the bed, his heartbeat machine beeping the way it’s supposed to beep.
His chest was rising and falling like it should be as he breathed unconsciously.
“Baby” Rona said and sat on the bed. She stared at him affectionately and she almost started crying.
It’s her fault! It’s because of him that he’s here.
“It’s my fault, I’m sorry” She said, caressing his knuckles.
“Stop blaming yourself” Spider said, patting her shoulder.
“But how were they able to stab him? He is born naturally sensitive and very suspicious, sharp instincts and extra smart” Seth said, and Jonathan exchanged glances with Spider.
“He was distracted” Jonathan said.
“I love you, please wake up, I won’t cry again, I love you so much” She said, and leaned forward, kissing his forehead.
“I have many questions I have to ask you, please wake up baby” She whispered softly.
“Lucifer, wake up please” Spider said.
“We are waiting for you Prof. I still remember how you saved me that night, you may be cold to me but you are the nicest person” Jonathan said.
“Twinnie, wake up, we still have some scores to settle” Seth said.
Rona interlocked their fingers as she placed her head on his chest.
Valentino sighed as his car stopped in front of the building. He’s here to talk things out with Rhonda. He has been restless since Angelique stopped talking to him. Valentine is not talking to him either.
He came out of his car and started walking to the door. He got to the door and raised his hand to ring the doorbell but he stopped as he started hearing voices in the living room.
He placed his ear on the door and the voices became clear.
“I finally got him” A voice said and he recognized it to be Rhonda’s voice.
“He truly believes he’s the father of my child” Rhonda said, laughing.
“How were you able to trap him?” A voice asked.
“My doctor forged the pregnancy”
“And you pinned the pregnancy on him? You’re bad girl” The second voice laughed.
“I love him, I will only have him if I use that against him” Rhonda replied.
Valentino was shaking as he stood at the door, after hearing their discussion.
His hands folded into a fist.
He angrily rang the doorbell and the door opened.
Immediately he stepped into the house, he grabbed Rhonda’s neck pushing her against the nearest wall, her back almost tearing apart.
“How dare you lie to me that you are pregnant for me?” He asked with so much anger in his voice.
“Val…..entino”
“Tell me” He roared angrily.
“You’re…. hurting…me” Rhonda said in a cracking voice, and tears came out.
“Start talking right now” He shouted, pressing the edge of his nails on her skin, hurting her intentionally.
Erica walked out of the mall with two bags in her hand, she walked to the car and opened the trunk, putting the bags in.
She closed the trunk and sighed.
“Today is the most boring day of my life, Mandy is not available, Angelique is still sucking about Valentino and Rona too is busy, Füçk my life” She said, and turned but she gasped as she saw Seth.
“Prof. Shane” She said, Seth smiled.
“I’m Seth” He said.
“His lookalike?” He asked and he nodded.
“Are you his brother?” She asked, and he smiled.
“Why are you smiling? Are you trying to seduce me?” She pouted.
“Is my smile that charming?” He smiled again.
“Stop smiling please, what are you doing here, getting something for your girlfriend?” She asked.
“Maybe” He replied.
“She’s lucky” She said.
“What is your name?”
“Erica”
“Cute name, see you around” He winked and went in.
“Oh my gosh!! I’m blushing, Erica get yourself together, he has a girlfriend but I’m jealous of her. How can someone resemble another person with no flaw?” She muttered.
“He’s so handsome, he even winked at me” She said, smiling, as her cheeks heated up again.
“What!!” Luke stood up from his chair as Storm broke the news to him.
“He nearly died because of that little girl?” He shouted.
“Another guy appeared having the same face as Shane” Storm said, and he faced him.
“What are you saying? He doesn’t have a brother or sister”
“But what if we…
“Shut up” Luke said.
“What hospital is he in?” Luke asked.
“Maverick hospital” Storm replied.
“We should get ready for Shaw, he will be planning something, Shane killed his son” Storm said.
“He’s not my problem, and one thing, find everything about that girl” Luke said and Storm bowed.
“Leave” He said and Storm walked out.
“Another guy with the same face as Shane… What if.. Was that why…No..I don’t want to think about it, it can’t be” Luke said as he paced around the room.
He walked into another room and pressed a yellow button, a secret door opened, and he went inside.
He looked around the place and turned on the computers. He installed the flash drive into the system and a video popped on the screen, a boy could be heard crying in the video.
He watched the video and sighed.
“It can’t be” He muttered.
Everyone was in the ward except Seth who stepped out to get clothes for Rona.
Rona was sleeping on Shane’s chest while Jonathan and Spider kept looking at each other.
“I think something is odd about him, he’s too intelligent” Jonathan talked.
“I’m thinking the same, what if he is involved in the video?” Spider whispered.
“He called himself Shane’s brother but I’m wondering why Shane never mentioned him to us, he never hid anything from me” Jonathan said.
“I’m still thinking about how he manufactured those cams, I’m a hacker but this will be the first time I will be seeing such technology” She said.
“He knows everything about Shane even more than we do, I won’t be surprised if he’s involved in the video” Jonathan said.
A sound at the door distracted them and they turned to find a nightmare.
“Luke” Jonathan gasped.
“What is he doing here?” Spider whispered, and they stood.
“Boss” Spider walked closer to Luke but he pushed her away and she landed on the wall. He started walking to Rona.
“You this little rat” He yelled and that woke Rona up.
She looked up and her eyes widened when they fell on him, she recognized his face and his words came to her head.
“I will teach you a lesson” He said and raised his hand up to descend it on her face but a familiar voice stopped him.
“Touch her and you will be a dead meat” Another voice just like Shane said behind, and he turned quickly. His eyes widened widely even though he tried hiding it but his eyes decided to betray him.
Seth came in, and walked straight to him, stopping before him.
“Wiping his memories was a success but you failed in wiping mine” Seth smirked, and Luke’s eyes widened.
